Overview
The Solas Plate Armor is a Body Armor piece in Crimson Desert. It falls under the Plate armor category and is equipped on the upper torso of the player character. With a base Defense of 4 in the separate +0 progression, it offers an upgradeable plate base. Compare it at the same refinement level as the Plate Armor of the Shadows. Its installed Abyss Gear supplies health regeneration and increased Pet Trust gain. Those installed effects are separate from intrinsic armor stats and can inform your body armor choices for most builds.

Body armor provides the highest defense stat among the four Armor types (chest armor, Headgear, Gloves, and Footwear). The Solas Plate Armor is widely regarded as the endgame goal for chest armor due to its reliable defense combined with passive bonuses.
In-Game Description
"Plate armor crafted by the ores of Gorthak. It was forged using premium iron produced at the Krall Foundry. By processing large iron plates directly, it was made without seams to endure heavy impacts."
Stats
The acquired guide displays Defense 41 and lists Oongka; the separate record lists Kliff and Oongka and a base refinement progression of Defense 4 at +0 to 41 at +10. Fortification I adds its own 3 Defense, while Companionship I and Vitality I supply Pet Trust Gain and regeneration. Do not label the older 9-DEF comparison as this record's +0 value.

Special Effects
Its recorded three installed gears are Fortification I, Companionship I and Vitality I. Companionship provides Pet Trust Gain and Vitality provides the regeneration effect; these are installed-gear effects rather than irremovable innate properties:
Effect | Value |
|---|---|
Pet Trust Gain | +1 |
Health Regeneration | +0.2 every 1 second |
The Pet Trust Gain bonus increases the rate at which your pet companion builds trust with you, which is useful for players investing in the pet system. The passive health regeneration is small but constant, providing a steady trickle of healing during and between fights without consuming any resources.
How to Obtain
The pickup walkthrough names Twisted Fate and defeating One-Armed Ludvig at the end of Chapter 7. The separate quest-reward record also names Time to Face Justice; those source labels do not establish a new quest sequence. A separate Smith recipe lists Abyss Cell x20 plus any three eligible Kuku Pot Sealed Items; this recorded crafting option does not establish its first-unlock requirement or replace the quest walkthrough.
There are two confirmed ways to acquire the Solas Plate Armor:
Main Quest Reward
The Solas Plate Armor can be obtained as a reward from the "Time to Face Justice" main quest in Chapter 7: Homecoming. Completing this quest awards the armor automatically, making it a guaranteed pickup for players progressing through the main storyline.
Purchase from Equipment Shops
The Solas Plate Armor can also be purchased from equipment shops across Pywel for 9.56 Silver Coins. Prices may vary depending on the player's standing with different factions. The named item-record vendor is Gunter at Pai Equipment, but the record does not establish when this shop route first unlocks. It should not be treated as proof of a guaranteed pre-Chapter 7 purchase.
Pricing
Transaction | Price |
|---|---|
Buy Price | 9.56 Silver Coins |
Sell Price | Not yet confirmed |
At 9.56 Silver, the Solas Plate Armor is a mid-range purchase. For the level of defense and the special effects it provides, the price represents strong value.
Solas Set
The Solas Plate Armor is part of the Solas Set, a themed collection of plate equipment. The known set pieces are:
Piece | Slot |
|---|---|
Solas Plate Armor | |
Armor sets in Crimson Desert share a visual theme across equipment slots but do not currently provide set bonuses when multiple pieces are worn together. The primary benefit of wearing a matching set is cosmetic. Individual pieces within a set still need to be refined separately to improve their stats.
Body Armor Comparison
The following table compares the Solas Plate Armor with other high-tier body armor pieces:
DEF | Type | Special Effects | Abyss Slots | How to Get | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Solas Plate Armor | 4 at +0; 41 at +10 | Plate | Pet Trust +1, Health Regen +0.2/sec | 3 | Chapter 7 quest or buy (9.56 Silver) |
13 | Plate | None | - | Found in the world | |
14 | Plate | Move Spd Lv. 2, Ice Res Lv. 7 | - | Late-game | |
12 | Move Spd Lv. 1, Lightning Res Lv. 1 | 3 | Boss drop (Crowcaller, Chapter 5) | ||
10 | Plate | Daze Immunity | - | Purchase or quest | |
10 | Plate | None | - | Purchase or quest | |
8 | Plate | None | 3 |
The comparison mixes acquired and refined displays. Solas Plate Armor runs from 4 to 41 Defense in the separate progression; the Plate Armor of the Shadows comparison and Kairos Plate Armor row must be matched at the same level before ranking raw defense. The Frostcursed Plate Armor has a fixed 14-DEF display with Ice Resistance Lv.7, rather than proving that it exceeds every refined chest piece. Keep its effects and Abyss Core options separate from a mixed-level ranking.
The Blackwing Leather Armor is a strong alternative at 12 DEF with Movement Speed and Lightning Resistance bonuses. Players who value mobility may prefer the Blackwing set for specific situations, but for raw protection and passive utility, the Solas Plate Armor is the better all-around choice.
Refinement
The Solas Plate Armor supports 10 refinement levels. Refinement is performed at a Blacksmith and increases the armor's Defense with each level. Because this armor is non-unique, it is refined using gathered materials or duplicate armor pieces. A fully refined Solas Plate Armor provides strong effective defense, though several other plate armors have higher base defense values.
See the Refinement System article for a full breakdown of refinement mechanics and material requirements.
Abyss Cores

With 3 Abyss Core slots, the Solas Plate Armor accepts Abyss Cores that can be socketed by visiting a Witch. The first available Witch is Elowen at the Witch's House in The Witchwoods. Recommended core setups for the Solas Plate Armor include:
Tank build: Stack flat Defense cores to maximize the armor's already strong protection. Combined with the passive health regeneration, this makes the wearer extremely durable.
Pet companion build: Keep Companionship I for its Pet Trust Gain effect and consider compatible pet-related gears. This setup is useful for players investing in pet companions in combat and exploration.
Balanced offense: Slot cores that add Attack Power or Critical Rate to complement the armor's defensive strengths, creating a well-rounded loadout.
Lore
The Solas Plate Armor is crafted from ores mined in Gorthak and forged at the Krall Foundry. The foundry uses premium iron and a seamless forging technique that processes large iron plates directly, resulting in armor with no seams or weak points. This construction method is specifically designed to withstand heavy impacts, making the armor popular among soldiers and mercenaries who operate in Pywel's most dangerous regions.
Notes and Tips
The installed Vitality I supplies the regeneration effect. Its older +0.2-per-second figure is retained here as an earlier observation; check the current equipped-item tooltip before treating that older numeric conversion as verified.
The Chapter 7 quest is the confirmed story reward. The older 9.56 Silver purchase note and a named vendor reference do not independently establish when a shop offers the armor, so check its unlock condition before planning an earlier purchase.
The Pet Trust Gain +1 effect stacks with other pet trust sources, making this armor especially valuable for players who are actively working on building trust with a pet companion.
At the recorded +10 level, the Defense progression reaches 41. Compare the same refinement level and socket setup when choosing an endgame chest piece.
