Overview

Pororin Fishing Rod is a Normal Fishing Rod in Crimson Desert. It is a Pororin-made tool built for serious fishing rather than a basic shop rod. Its description identifies it as a lightweight rod crafted with spider webs and a technique passed down in Pororin.
The rod is most useful once fishing becomes a regular activity. Its confirmed passive skill is Fishing Cooldown Reduction Lv 2, which makes it a strong upgrade for repeated catches and rare fish attempts while still using the normal Fishing minigame.

How to Obtain
The Pororin Fishing Rod is not a normal merchant pickup. First, gain access to Pororin and unlock the Pororin Research Institute. Complete the Secret Tools of Life research project in the Pororin tree, listed as project 2C. The project costs 500 Silver and takes 1 day 4 hours to finish.
After the research completes, use the production or dispatch option tied to Arboria Craftshop to craft the rod. If only the related scythe option is visible at first, check the craftshop or dispatch categories instead of searching general stores.
Use
Equip it like other fishing rods, then cast normally from the quick wheel or tool slot.
Use it for long fishing sessions because Fishing Cooldown Reduction Lv 2 shortens the downtime between bites.
Bring it when working on rare, large, or legendary fish routes. It is a safer late-game choice than the basic or fine rod when catches are difficult.
Do not confuse it with The Claw. The Claw is the separate auto-reeling rod, while the Pororin Fishing Rod focuses on cooldown reduction.
Research Path Sequence
Inside the Pororin Research Institute, the Secret Tools of Life branch is a four-node chain. You cannot skip ahead; each node has to be completed in order before the next becomes selectable. From the entry of the branch the path runs:
Node 1: the top research at the head of the Secret Tools of Life path.
Node 2: the node directly below Node 1, marked on the tree with the leaf icon.
Node 3: the node placed immediately next to Node 2 on the tree.
Node 4: the final node at the end of the chain, which is the one labelled as project 2C and which actually unlocks the Pororin Fishing Rod plus the Magic Scythe research.
Each node consumes silver from your treasury and takes in-game time to resolve, so plan to leave the institute running while you progress other content. The total silver cost of the chain (including the prerequisite nodes, not just the final 500 silver Project 2C) means the Pororin Fishing Rod is realistically a mid-to-late game purchase rather than something you grab right after arriving in Pororin Village.
Dispatch Mission Cost Breakdown
Completing the research is only half the work. The rod itself is crafted through a dispatch mission tied to the Arboria Craftshop, with the dispatch slot listed inside Hernand. The mission consumes the following resources from your camp stockpile when you launch it:
Resource | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Armor materials | Around 3,000 | Drawn from your camp armor pool. Stockpile through liberation rewards and looted enemy gear before launching the dispatch. |
Food | Around 2,500 | Food contributions count, so cooking sessions or hunting hauls during the research wait time both feed this stockpile. |
Silver | Around 7,000 | On top of the 500 silver spent on Project 2C and the silver consumed by the prior three nodes in the chain. Budget accordingly. |
Because the dispatch is repeatable on cooldown, players who want a backup rod or who lose the original can re-run the same mission later. The headline benefit of the rod, Fishing Cooldown Reduction Lv 2, applies the moment it is equipped from the quick wheel.
When to Prioritise the Pororin Rod
If you are running fishing as a casual side activity, the basic rod and Fine Fishing Rod will cover most needs. Prioritise the Pororin Fishing Rod when you start chasing rare or legendary fish in earnest, because the cooldown reduction shortens the wait between bites and meaningfully reduces the time spent at any one fishing spot. Pair it with the auto-reel of The Claw (carried in the inventory and swapped in for the reel phase) for the fastest end-to-end legendary-fish hunting loop the game currently allows.
