Overview
The Plate Armor of the Shadows is a Body Armor piece in Crimson Desert. It is part of the Shadows equipment set, a collection of high-tier Armor pieces found in hidden locations. At 13 DEF, it has the highest base defense of any body armor in the game, making it the strongest chest piece available. It also comes pre-equipped with Abyss Gear that grants Petrification Immunity, a flat DEF +3 bonus, and Stamina Regen +2%. Because it can be obtained without fighting any bosses, it is one of the best free pickups in the entire game.

How to Obtain
The Plate Armor of the Shadows is found inside a small cave in the Argent Peaks, near the Everfrost Watchtower. The Everfrost Watchtower is located in the northern part of the Everfrost region within Hernand.
When you reach the area near the watchtower, look for a locked door built into a rock wall in the southern part of the area. To open the door, interact with the nearby lantern to light it. Lighting the lantern lowers the bars blocking the entrance, granting access to the room beyond.
Inside you will find a treasure chest containing the Plate Armor of the Shadows. No combat is required to obtain this piece; it is a completely free pickup. However, be aware that Bleed Bandits patrol the area outside the cave, so you may need to fight or avoid them on the way in.

Tips
This is widely considered the best body armor to rush for early in the game. It requires no boss fight, no quest completion, and no special items to obtain. Just travel to the Argent Peaks and light the lantern.
At 13 DEF with Petrification Immunity and Stamina Regen, this armor outperforms every other body armor option in the game for raw defense. It remains competitive even in the endgame after full refinement.
Combine this with other free Shadows pieces (Plate Boots of the Shadows from Frostclaw Cave and Plate Gloves of the Shadows from Everfrost Cave) for a massive early-game power spike without fighting any bosses.
The sell price of 12.65 Silver is high, but selling this armor is not recommended given its unmatched stats.
