The Plate Cloak of the Shadows is a Cloak in Crimson Desert. It is part of the Shadows equipment set, a collection of high-tier Armor pieces found in hidden locations. With Fire Resistance Lv.7, it provides the highest fire elemental resistance of any cloak in the game, more than double the Lv.3 offered by most other plate cloaks. This makes it the go-to cloak for fire-heavy encounters and boss fights.

Fire Resistance Lv.7 is significantly stronger than the Lv.3 offered by standard plate cloaks. This level of fire resistance provides massive damage reduction against fire-based boss attacks and environmental fire hazards. At 3 DEF, the physical defense is also among the highest available for cloaks. Note that unlike other Shadows set pieces, this cloak does not have Abyss Core sockets, but it can still be refined up to 10 levels at the blacksmith.
"A cloak once worn by Beloth, the Darksworn. Woven from pitch-black darkness, it protects the wearer from the heat."
The Plate Cloak of the Shadows is found in a hidden chamber at Hoenmark Ruins. The ruins are located in the Everfrost region of Hernand. The hidden room is to the left of the main boss arena area.
To access the hidden chamber, follow these steps:
Find the glowing floor patch: In the area to the left of the Hoenmark Ruins boss arena, look for a section of the floor with a faintly glowing or differently colored surface. This is a loose section of roofing/floor.
Crouch on the patch: Stand on the glowing floor patch and crouch.
Use Force Palm: While crouching, activate Force Palm (R3) to rotate the wall and drop down into a hidden room below. The Force Palm causes the floor section to flip, dropping you into the secret chamber.
Open the treasure chest: The hidden room contains a treasure chest with the Plate Cloak of the Shadows.
Exit the room: To get out, look for a lantern in the hidden room. Light the lantern to lower the spikes blocking the exit path, then climb out.
No combat is required to obtain this cloak. The only challenge is finding the correct floor patch and knowing the Force Palm crouch technique.
The Shadows set includes five pieces across all armor slots:
Slot | Piece | Location |
|---|---|---|
Hoenmark Ruins (defeat Beloth, the Darksworn) | ||
Cave near Everfrost Watchtower | ||
Plate Cloak of the Shadows | Cloak | Hidden chamber at Hoenmark Ruins |
Everfrost Cave | ||
The Force Palm crouch technique is easy to miss. If you are exploring Hoenmark Ruins and cannot find the cloak, look for any floor section that appears different from the surrounding stone.
Fire Resistance Lv.7 is more than double the standard Lv.3 on other plate cloaks. This single piece dramatically reduces fire damage taken, making it essential for fire-based boss encounters.
You can grab this cloak on the same trip as the Plate Helm of the Shadows, since both are located at Hoenmark Ruins. However, the helm requires defeating Beloth, while the cloak does not.
The lore description connects this cloak to Beloth, the Darksworn, the boss whose defeat rewards the Plate Helm of the Shadows. The full Shadows set is thematically tied to this figure.
