Overview
Rokade is one of three legendary horses in Crimson Desert. Known as the Legendary Black Horse, Rokade is a war horse built for mounted combat with the highest health of any legendary horse in the game. While Royler excels in speed and stamina for exploration, and Camora specializes in offensive power, Rokade focuses on raw survivability, making it the ideal choice for players who frequently engage in mounted combat against large groups of enemies.
Rokade maximizes health at the cost of speed. Its movement speed, acceleration, and stamina are noticeably lower than the other two legendary horses, meaning it is not the best option for long-distance travel. However, its massive health pool allows it to absorb significant punishment during combat encounters, keeping the rider safe in prolonged fights.
Location
Rokade can be found at the lake by the Spire of Insight in the Steel Mountains, Grace Estate. The horse roams the area just south of the lake near the Spire of Insight landmark. Look for the distinctive all-black coat that sets Rokade apart from other wild horses in the region.
One advantage of taming Rokade compared to the other legendary horses is that the Steel Mountains region does not impose heat or frost penalties on your stamina. This makes the taming attempt somewhat easier since your stamina drains at a normal rate, unlike the cold penalties in Pailune (where Royler is found) or the heat penalties in Tashkalp (where Camora is found).

How to Tame Rokade
Taming Rokade follows the standard horse taming mechanics for legendary horses. You need at least 6 Stamina attribute points to have a realistic chance of completing the taming minigame.
Travel to the lake by the Spire of Insight in the Steel Mountains.
Save your game before approaching Rokade.
Approach the black horse slowly and jump onto its back.
During the taming minigame, hold the movement input in the direction of the horse's tail.
Fill the taming circle before your stamina runs out.
Rokade is slightly easier to tame than the other legendary horses because the Steel Mountains region does not impose any environmental stamina penalties. No heat resistance or cold resistance gear is needed for the attempt.
Combat Role
Rokade's primary role is as a mounted combat tank. Its high health allows it to absorb hits that would fell other horses, keeping the rider safely mounted during intense fights. This is especially useful during:
Group fights: When surrounded by multiple enemies, Rokade's health pool prevents it from being killed quickly by scattered attacks.
Boss encounters: World bosses and elite enemies deal heavy damage that can dismount riders on weaker horses. Rokade can withstand more punishment.
Bandit ambushes: When transporting trade goods or traveling through hostile territory, Rokade's durability provides a safety margin.
Keep in mind that Rokade's lower speed means you cannot rely on outrunning enemies as easily as with Royler or Camora. Plan your routes accordingly and use Rokade's survivability advantage to fight through encounters rather than flee from them.
Tips
Equip the best Barding (body armor) you can find to further increase Rokade's already impressive durability.
Rokade is not ideal for long-distance travel due to its lower speed and stamina. Use Royler or a fast regular horse for exploration, and switch to Rokade when heading into combat-heavy areas.
Feed Rokade Horse Tonics to keep its health topped off between fights. A Horse Tonic provides an extreme health boost.
Rokade levels up the more you ride it, which further improves its stats over time.
Consider pairing Rokade with aggressive mounted combat strategies; use sweeping weapon attacks while relying on Rokade's health to absorb incoming damage.
