Overview

Double Jump is a traversal skill in Crimson Desert, available to all three playable characters (Kliff, Damiane, and Oongka). It belongs to the Spirit (Green) branch of the skill tree. Perform an extra jump in mid-air or off an enemy.

How to Acquire
For Kliff, Double Jump can be unlocked by spending 1 Abyss Artifact in the Spirit (Green) skill tree. It can also be acquired through the Watch and Learn system by observing enemies who perform a mid-air jump during combat. For Damiane, Double Jump is unlocked by default as soon as she becomes playable. The Spirit cost per use is 5 Spirit.
Effect and Mechanics
Double Jump allows the character to perform an additional jump while already airborne by stepping on air or pushing off an enemy. This effectively doubles the vertical reach of a standard jump, granting access to ledges and platforms that would otherwise be out of reach.
The skill is essential for exploration throughout the open world. When combined with Aerial Force Palm (which can be activated up to three times in mid-air), Double Jump creates a powerful vertical movement system that lets players scale tall structures and cliff faces without relying solely on Stamina-consuming wall climbing.
Known Interactions
Double Jump and Axiom Force's Aerial Maneuver cannot be used simultaneously. Double Jump only triggers when the grapple hook is not deployed. If you have hooked onto something with Axiom Force, pressing jump will perform Aerial Maneuver instead.
Occasionally Double Jump may not trigger and Kliff will perform his glide maneuver instead. This appears to happen when the second jump input is registered too late in the fall arc.
Combat Strategy
Use Double Jump to gain height before performing Body Slam for an aerial attack with extra impact damage.
Double Jump combined with Aerial Force Palm provides a stamina-free climbing method that is faster than wall scaling.
In combat, Double Jump lets you reposition vertically to evade ground-based area attacks from bosses.
During exploration, Double Jump is one of the most efficient investments for reaching collectibles and Sealed Abyss Artifacts placed on elevated platforms.
Pair Double Jump with Swift Flight for extended aerial traversal across gaps and valleys.
Double Jump's 5 Spirit cost is low enough that it rarely limits usage during exploration. In combat, use it to reposition above ground-based area attacks like Hornsplitter's tail sweep or the Stag Lord's charge. Combined with Aerial Force Palm, you can scale tall structures without consuming Stamina for wall climbing.
Tips
Watch for opportunities to learn this skill by observing NPCs or enemies using it in combat.
Keep an eye on your Stamina bar when using this skill repeatedly; running out mid-combo leaves you vulnerable.

Since Kliff is the character you play for most of the game, unlocking Double Jump for him early is highly recommended.
Method 1: Skill Tree (Recommended)
The quickest and most reliable approach is to purchase it directly from the Spirit (Green) skill tree:
Open the Skill Tree menu.
Navigate to the Spirit branch (the green section on the left side).
Locate the Double Jump node and unlock it for 1 Abyss Artifact.
The skill can be easy to miss because it is tucked away in the Spirit tree rather than the more commonly browsed combat branches. It is well worth the single Abyss Artifact investment.
Method 2: Watch and Learn (Free)
Crimson Desert's Watch and Learn system lets you pick up certain skills by observing NPCs or enemies performing them. If you want to save your Abyss Artifacts for other upgrades, keep an eye out for characters performing a double jump during your travels. When you spot one, watch the move carefully without getting hit. A progress indicator will fill, and once complete, the skill unlocks for free.
This method requires patience since you need to find an NPC performing the move and stay focused long enough to complete the observation.
Controls
Platform | Input |
|---|---|
PlayStation | Press X twice |
Xbox | Press A twice |
PC (Keyboard) | Press Space twice |
The key to a successful double jump is timing. Press the jump button the second time at the peak of your first jump, just before you start falling. Pressing too early or too late will waste the input.
Spirit Cost
Each double jump consumes 5 Spirit. Spirit regenerates over time, and you can instantly restore it by pressing L3 + R3 simultaneously. Keep an eye on your Spirit bar during extended climbing sessions.
Practical Uses
Reaching higher ledges: combine Double Jump with wall climbing to access areas that would otherwise require a long detour.
Scaling walls with Force Palm: use Double Jump followed by three consecutive Force Palm strikes mid-air to reach extremely high surfaces.
Dodging in combat: the extra airtime gives you an additional evasion window against ground-based attacks.
Shortcutting terrain: jump across gaps and skip winding paths.
