Overview
Horse Items are equipment and consumables for your horse mounts in Crimson Desert. They fall into two main categories: tack (permanent equipment that boosts your horse's stats) and feed (consumable items that restore your horse's health or stamina). Horse tack can be purchased from Saddlery Vendors found near stables throughout Pywel, or crafted from materials. Feed items are obtained from vendors, gathered from the world, or crafted.
Horse Tack
Tack is permanent equipment that you attach to your horse to improve its stats. Tack is divided into four equipment slots: saddle, stirrups, champron (head armor), and horseshoes.
Saddles
Saddles increase your horse's maximum health pool, making the mount more durable in combat and during long rides.
Saddle | Effect | Description |
|---|---|---|
Shabby Horse Saddle | Health +25 | A travel saddle made of leather, softened by years of use with quilted padding. |
Delmar Saddle | Health +50 | A sleek, polished brown leather saddle with a high pommel and cantle featuring a sharp yet classic silhouette. |
Stirrups
Stirrups provide passive health regeneration to your horse over time, helping it recover during and between encounters.
Stirrups | Effect | Description |
|---|---|---|
Crude Stirrups | Health: +10 every 1 sec | Stirrups crudely hammered from rough cast iron, with visible rust and signs of neglect. |
Hernandian Stirrups | Health: +30 every 1 sec | Heavy-duty stirrups crafted in Hernand, preventing foot slipping during combat or on steep terrain. |
Champrons
Champrons are pieces of head armor for your horse. They increase your horse's attack power, boosting the damage dealt during mounted combat charges.
Champron | Effect | Description |
|---|---|---|
Hernandian Champron | Attack +7 | A silver plate with golden borders. The horn symbolizes divine majesty, and the blue feathers represent the cliff winds of Hernand. |
Horseshoes
Horseshoes improve your horse's attack power and stamina regeneration, making the mount more effective in mounted combat.
Horseshoes | Effect | Description |
|---|---|---|
Shabby Horseshoes | Attack +1, Stamina +1 every 1 sec | Silver horseshoes forged for durability, designed for Hernand's rugged terrain. |
Silver Iron Horseshoes | Attack +2, Stamina +2 every 1 sec | An enhanced version of the Shabby Horseshoes with improved durability. |
Barding
Barding is a special type of horse armor that provides a defensive bonus. Barding is categorized as a Contribution Good, meaning it is only available to players who have earned sufficient contribution points through community activities.
Barding | Effect | Description |
|---|---|---|
Hernandian Barding | Defense +20 | Ceremonial barding crafted by master artisans of Hernand. Combines elegance and functionality, restricted to contributors. |
Horse Feed
Feed items are consumables that restore your horse's health or stamina. They can be purchased from vendors, gathered from the environment, or crafted. Using feed at the right time can keep your horse alive during tough combat encounters.
Feed | Effect | Description |
|---|---|---|
Sugar Beet | Small health recovery | A root vegetable with red flesh, favored by horses for its crisp texture and sweetness. |
Sugar Cubes | Health recovery | Treats made by refining pure sugar, with intense sweetness that horses love. |
Hay | Moderate health restoration | Nutritious fodder dried thoroughly in the sun with a pleasant aroma. The most familiar horse food. |
Horse Tonic | Pushes health to extreme | A thick potion brewed from rare herbs, granting exceptional toughness to endure deadly blows. |
Horse Stimulant | Amplifies stamina to maximum | A pungent elixir that forcibly awakens a horse's wildness, granting tireless strength. |

Tips
Equip the best tack you can afford whenever you upgrade. Higher-quality saddles and stirrups significantly improve your horse's survivability.
Keep a supply of Hay and Sugar Cubes in your inventory for quick health recovery during combat.
Horse Stimulant is especially useful before long journeys across the open world, as it restores stamina to maximum.
Horse Tonic should be saved for boss fights or dangerous encounters where your mount's survival is critical.
The Hernandian Barding requires contribution points to purchase, so focus on building your contribution if you want the +20 defense bonus.
Mounted combat damage is affected by both Kliff's weapon and your horse's attack stat from champrons and horseshoes.
