Overview

The Golden Tench is one of the legendary fish species in Crimson Desert. As a golden variant of the common Tench, it is significantly rarer and considerably more valuable. The older approximately 10 silver sale advice is superseded by Patch 1.08.00, which prevents legendary fish from being sold, used or discarded. It is caught using a Fishing Rod and does not require any special bait.
Where to Catch
The Golden Tench can be found in a stream located to the southwest of the Mountain of Frozen Souls, at the very southern edge of the Hernand region. This is a specific freshwater location, and the fish does not appear in general Hernand rivers. Once you have gained knowledge of the Golden Tench through the Knowledge Codex, you can use the "Open Map" function to place a marker showing its exact fishing location.
Uses
Selling: The earlier approximately 10 silver at any vendor quote is historical; the primary Patch 1.08.00 rule prevents sale.
Cooking: The earlier Fish Fillet recipes and sale recommendation is superseded by the primary restriction on legendary-fish use and sale.
Knowledge: Catching the Golden Tench fills a Knowledge Codex entry in the Bestiary.
Tips
Golden fish variants are harder to reel in than their standard counterparts. Be patient and only reel when the fish stops fighting.
Consider upgrading to a Fine Fishing Rod before attempting to catch legendary fish. The blueprint for the Fine Fishing Rod is found south of the House of Healing.
The Mountain of Frozen Souls is in the far south of Hernand, so prepare supplies before making the trip.
Fishing Rod
The free rod found early near Hanand handles all regular fish. Legendary catches cannot be landed with the basic rod and require the Porin rod, which is built for the toughest species. Use the Knowledge Codex map marker to return to a discovered fishing spot.
The same primary update restores legendary fish previously sold, used or discarded, and protects registered legendary fish from pond-capacity and lifespan losses. It does not settle whether an observed rod or location is the only valid catch method. The earlier basic-rod prohibition, required Porin rod and exact exclusive stream boundary remain unverified restrictions, separate from that confirmed protection rule.
