Added Block House variants comparison, Engineer specialty details, material farming guide table, recommended build order progression, and common mistakes to avoid
Building Kits are pre-designed blueprints in Pokemon Pokopia that automate the construction of houses, public buildings, power structures, and special facilities. Unlike manual block-by-block building, kits provide complete structures that Pokemon assemble for you once you supply the required materials and workers. Kits range from small one-Pokemon dens to massive legendary bird facilities requiring 15 Pokemon and dozens of materials.
Building kits are organized into several categories: residential kits for housing Pokemon, Pokemon Center rebuilding kits for restoring area services, power and utility structures, commercial and decorative buildings, and the three legendary bird kits found in Palette Town.
Obtain the kit from the PC Shop at a Pokemon Center (limited daily stock that replenishes the next day), from sparkling ripples in the environment, or from Poke Balls found in the world. Legendary bird kits are found as collectible items in Palette Town.
Place the kit at the desired location. A Construction Area is designated around the placement site.
Supply materials by interacting with the supply box at the Construction Area. The required materials are listed on screen.
Assign Pokemon with the required specialties. Most kits need at least one Pokemon with the Build specialty. Some also require Bulldoze, Burn, Water, Fly, or other specialties.
Start construction by pressing the build button. Assigned Pokemon work on the project and cannot be used for other tasks during the build period.
Wait for completion. Small structures like Dens finish in about 15 minutes. Larger buildings, including Pokemon Centers, complete at 5:00 AM the next in-game day.

The Engineer specialty (exclusive to Tinkmaster) reduces construction time for Building Kit projects. Having Tinkmaster participate in a build can significantly speed up larger projects.
You can upgrade a kit-built house by placing another Building Kit over it. The new structure replaces the old one while preserving all furniture inside.
You cannot downsize a house. A Cottage cannot be replaced with a Hut.
If a Pokemon is currently living inside, ask it to follow you first before placing the upgrade kit.
Building Kit structures cannot be duplicated on the 3D Printer.
Residential kits come in four sizes and four aesthetic styles, plus several special variants. The four sizes are Den, Hut, Cottage, and House, and the four styles are Leaf, Sand, Stone, and City. This creates 16 core residential kits. Each style is purely cosmetic; the size determines capacity and floor count.
Size | Pokemon Capacity | Floors | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Den | 1 | 1 | Smallest and cheapest. Quick to build (about 15 minutes). |
Hut | 1 | 1 | Slightly larger footprint than a Den. Still houses one Pokemon. |
Cottage | 2 | 1 | Houses two Pokemon. Good mid-game option. |
House | 5 | 2 | Largest kit-built structure. Two floors, houses five Pokemon. |
Each of the four styles is available in all four sizes. Materials scale with size.

Pink Hut | 1 | Hut-sized, pink exterior. Cosmetic variant. |
Orange Hut | 1 | Hut-sized, orange exterior. Cosmetic variant. |
Gray Hut | 1 | Hut-sized, gray exterior. Cosmetic variant. |
Yellow Hut | 1 | Hut-sized, yellow exterior. Cosmetic variant. |
Gray Cottage | 2 | Cottage-sized, gray exterior. Cosmetic variant. |
Log Cabin | 2 | Cottage-sized rustic cabin with a wood exterior. |
Poke Ball House | 2 | A house shaped like a giant Poke Ball. Requires 10 Concrete, 10 Glass, 10 Pokemetal. 4 Pokemon (Engineer, Generate). |
Each of the four story areas has a ruined Pokemon Center that can be rebuilt. Rebuilding a Pokemon Center unlocks the PC Shop, healing machine, and various services for that area. All four kits require Environment Level 3 in the target area and cost 1,000 Life Coins from the PC Shop. Each requires 8 Pokemon workers.
Kit | Area | Materials | Required Specialties |
|---|---|---|---|
Wasteland Pokemon Center | Build, Bulldoze, Chop | ||
Beach Pokemon Center | Build, Bulldoze, Burn | ||
Ridge Pokemon Center | 25 Stone, 25 Iron Ingot, 25 Copper Ingot, 5 Crystal Fragment | Build, Bulldoze | |
Skyland Pokemon Center | Build, Bulldoze |
Onix is hardcoded as one of the eight required workers for the Withered Wasteland Pokemon Center. If you have not rescued Onix during the "Yawn Up a Storm" quest in the Withered Wasteland, you will be stuck at seven out of eight workers.
Power structures supply electricity to lamps, machines, cooking appliances, and other electrical items. They are connected to buildings through Utility Poles. See the Building article for details on the electricity system.
Kit | Materials | Pokemon Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
Windmill | 2 (Build) | Converts wind energy into power. Can be placed anywhere. | |
Waterwheel | 2 (Build) | Uses flowing water to generate power. Must be placed near water. | |
Furnace | 2 (Build) | Burns fuel to generate power. Requires a Pokemon with the Burn specialty to operate. | |
Charging Station | 10 Iron Ingot, 10 Pokemetal | 2 (Build) | Charges Peakychu for its Illuminate specialty. Also powers nearby electric items. |
All four power structures build in about one hour. Connect them to your buildings using Utility Poles (5 poles per craft: 2 Iron Ore, 2 Stone) to distribute electricity across your settlement.
Commercial and decorative kits add functionality or visual flair to your settlement. Commercial buildings like the Poke Mart provide services, while decorative kits are primarily aesthetic.
Kit | Materials | Pokemon Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
Poke Mart | 4 (Build, Trade) | A shop building. Does not house Pokemon (0 capacity). | |
Stylish Cafe | Varies | Varies | A cafe where Pokemon can relax. Decorative building. |
Small Office | Varies | Varies | A small commercial building. |
Pikachu Fountain | 3 (Build) | A Pikachu-shaped fountain. Decorative landmark. | |
Concert Stage | 10 Iron Ingot, 5 Glass, 10 Glowing Stone, 5 Pokemetal | 7 (Build + 2 Hype) | A large performance stage for Pokemon events. |
Moonlight Dance Statue | 10 Iron Ingot, 10 Copper Ingot, 10 Stone | Varies | A decorative statue for your settlement. |
Fountain Plaza | 20 Lumber, 20 Stone, 20 Copper Ore | Varies | A large fountain plaza landmark. |
Relaxing Park | Varies | Varies | A park with an iconic Chansey tree. Decorative outdoor space. |
Three special building kits allow you to construct facilities for the legendary birds: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. Unlike other kits, these are not purchased from the PC Shop. Instead, they are found as collectible items on specific islands in Palette Town. Each requires 15 Pokemon workers and large quantities of materials.
Kit | Location Found | Materials | Required Specialties |
|---|---|---|---|
Freezing Chambers | Eastern island, Palette Town | 50 Stone, 50 Ice, 10 Crystal Fragment, 10 Pokemetal | Build, Water, Search, Crush + 11 any |
Abandoned Power Plant | Southern island mountaintop, Palette Town | 50 Copper Ingot, 50 Iron Ingot, 50 Sea Glass Fragment, 50 Brick, 10 Pokemetal | Build, Fly, Crush, Generate + 11 any |
Altar of the Flame | Northwestern island, Palette Town | 50 Copper Ingot, 50 Gold Ingot, 50 Lava Rock, 10 Pokemetal | Build, Fly, Burn, Crush + 11 any |
Once a legendary bird facility is fully constructed, the corresponding legendary bird becomes a permanent resident of your island. Completing all three legendary bird facilities unlocks the Tidal Bell recipe, which can be used to summon another legendary Pokemon.
The legendary bird kits are the most expensive construction projects in the game. Plan your material stockpiles well in advance, especially for Pokemetal, Gold Ingot, and Lava Rock, which are only available in later game areas.
In addition to the standard fixed-structure kits listed above, Pokopia offers Block House variants for Hut and Cottage sizes. Block Houses differ from fixed houses in several important ways:
Feature | Fixed House (Standard Kit) | Block House |
|---|---|---|
Capacity | Varies by size (1-5 Pokemon) | 4 Pokemon each (all sizes) |
Interior space | Bigger inside than outside; furniture can be placed at half-block precision | Interior matches external dimensions; standard block-grid placement |
Movable | Can be easily moved or demolished | Cannot be moved after placement |
Availability | PC Shop (daily stock) | Block Hut: PC Shop; Block Cottage: sparkling water ripples (random drop) |
Block Houses are a good choice when you need high capacity early on, since every Block House variant holds 4 Pokemon regardless of size. However, fixed houses offer more interior design flexibility thanks to half-block furniture placement.
The Engineer specialty is exclusive to Tinkmaster and provides a significant construction speed bonus when Tinkmaster participates in a building project. For large projects like Pokemon Center rebuilds and Legendary Bird facilities, including Tinkmaster as one of the assigned workers can cut hours off the construction time. Always prioritize assigning Tinkmaster to your most time-consuming builds.
Large building projects require stockpiling materials well in advance. Here is a guide to the most commonly needed materials and the best ways to farm them.
Material | Used In | Best Farming Method |
|---|---|---|
Lumber | All Leaf/Sand kits, Pokemon Centers, power structures | Chop specialty Pokemon process Small Logs. Station Haxorus (Litter: Small Log) near a Chop Pokemon. |
Stone | All Stone kits, Pokemon Centers, decorative kits | Litter from Blissey, Rampardos, Bastiodon, Tyrantrum, or Aurorus. Also mined from rock deposits. |
Iron Ore / Iron Ingots | Stone kits, Pokemon Centers, power structures, many recipes | Litter from Glimmet and Glimmora. Also smelted from Nonburnable Garbage via Recycle specialty. |
Vine Rope | Leaf House, Windmill, various furniture | Litter from Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Tangela. Abundant in Withered Wasteland. |
Bricks | Beach Pokemon Center, Stone House, Pikachu Fountain | Process Squishy Clay using Burn specialty at a Smelting Furnace. Litter from Paldean Wooper and Clodsire. |
Concrete / Glass | All City kits, Poke Mart, Poke Ball House | Crafted at a Workbench. Concrete requires Stone + Sand. Glass requires Sea Glass Fragments (from Bleak Beach and Ocean Dream Islands). |
Pokemetal | City House, Legendary Bird kits, Concert Stage, Charging Station | Pokemetal Fragments from Sky Dream Island (Dragonite Doll). Also crafted from Rare Pokemetal via Porygon2. |
Gold Ore / Gold Ingots | Altar of the Flame, Moonlight Dance Statue | Mined in Rocky Ridges caves and Volcanic Dream Island (Arcanine Doll). Limited supply; start stockpiling early. |
For new players, building in the right order helps you unlock key services and house Pokemon efficiently without wasting scarce materials. Here is a suggested progression:
Early game (Withered Wasteland): Build Leaf Dens for newly befriended Pokemon. They only cost 3 Sturdy Stick and 3 Leaf, and finish in about 15 minutes. Build a Windmill (5 Lumber, 5 Twine) for your first power source.
Mid game (Bleak Beach): Upgrade to Leaf Huts and Cottages as you gather more Lumber and Leaf. Build the Withered Wasteland Pokemon Center once you hit Environment Level 3. Start a Waterwheel near water for additional power.
Late game (Rocky Ridges): Transition to Stone-style kits since Iron Ore becomes available from Glimmet. Rebuild the Beach and Ridge Pokemon Centers. Build the Furnace power structure for areas without wind or water.
Endgame (Sparkling Skylands + Palette Town): Build City-style houses using Concrete, Glass, and Pokemetal. Tackle the three Legendary Bird kits. Rebuild the final Pokemon Center in Sparkling Skylands.
Building too large too early: A Leaf House requires 25 Lumber, 25 Leaf, 25 Stone, and 25 Vine Rope. In the early game, those materials are better spent on multiple Dens and Huts to house more Pokemon faster.
Forgetting to rescue Onix: The Withered Wasteland Pokemon Center requires Onix as one of its eight workers. If you skip the "Yawn Up a Storm" quest, you will be stuck at 7/8 workers. Complete this quest before attempting the rebuild.
Not assigning Tinkmaster: If you have Tinkmaster, always include it in large builds. The Engineer specialty's speed bonus makes a real difference for Pokemon Centers and Legendary Bird kits.
Ignoring the daily PC Shop restock: Building kits sold out today will reappear after 5:00 AM the next in-game day. Check the shop daily for kits you need, especially Block Cottages which only appear from sparkling water ripples otherwise.
The Leaf Den is the cheapest and fastest building kit. Use it early to provide quick shelter for newly befriended Pokemon while you gather materials for larger structures.
Keep a stock of Lumber, Stone, and Iron Ore at all times. These three materials are used across most building kit recipes.
The PC Shop restocks building kits daily. If a kit you need is sold out, check again after 5:00 AM the next in-game day.
Upgrade houses rather than building new ones when possible. Placing a Cottage kit over a Hut preserves all furniture inside.
Pokemon Center rebuilding kits require Environment Level 3. Focus on raising your Environment Level by building habitats and increasing Comfort Levels before attempting the rebuild.
For legendary bird kits, start stockpiling materials in Rocky Ridges and Sparkling Skylands where advanced materials like Gold Ore and Lava Rock are available.
Station multiple Pokemon with the Build specialty near your construction sites. Having more builders assigned speeds up the process.
You can skip construction wait times by opening Settings, disabling internet time synchronization, and setting the system clock past 5:00 AM.
