Overview
Chansey is a Normal-type Pokemon known for its healing abilities across the Pokemon series, and it serves a similar supportive role in Pokemon Pokopia. Chansey provides passive PP regeneration when set as a follower, gradually restoring the player's PP over time while exploring. It also has the Trade specialty, allowing it to run shops at powered Cash Registers.
How to Attract Chansey
Chansey is attracted by building the Chansey Resting Area habitat (Habitat #034). This is a peaceful spot designed for rest and relaxation.
Material | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Hedge (any) | 6 | Craft at a Workbench using Leaves |
Seat (any) | 1 | Any chair or bench |
Chansey Plant | 1 | Craft from 3x Leaf + 3x Sturdy Stick |
Chansey's ideal habitat type is Bright. Surround the habitat with bright furniture, torches, and colorful decorations to increase its comfort level. The Chansey Resting Area also attracts Bellossom and Vileplume as secondary spawns.
Passive PP Regeneration
Chansey's signature benefit is passive PP regeneration. When Chansey is set as your follower Pokemon, your PP slowly restores over time as you walk and explore. This is especially valuable during long exploration sessions or when using PP-intensive Ditto Transformations like Rock Smash, Surf, and Waterfall.
PP can also be restored by eating Leppa Berries, resting at the Pokemon Center, or purchasing PP Up items from the PC Shop (300 Life Coins). Chansey's passive regeneration supplements these methods without consuming items.
Trade Specialty
Chansey has the Trade specialty. Pokemon with this specialty can staff shops when placed near a powered Cash Register. Assign Chansey to a habitat near your trading area and it will barter items with you. Other Trade-specialty Pokemon include Slowbro, Hoothoot, Noctowl, Zorua, Snorlax, and Audino.

Tips
Set Chansey as your follower before long exploration runs, especially in Rocky Ridges and Sparkling Skylands where Rock Smash and Surf drain PP quickly.
Chansey's PP regeneration stacks well with Leppa Berry consumption. Carry berries for emergencies and let Chansey handle the passive recovery.
The Trade specialty makes Chansey a good choice for running an extra shop in Palette Town or other settlements.
Place bright, colorful decorations around the Chansey Resting Area to maximize comfort and keep Chansey happy.
