Overview

The Freelance Delivery Career is a freelance income path introduced in the March 2026 update (v0.7.0), released on March 26, 2026 as part of inZOI's first anniversary in Early Access. It allows Zois to take delivery orders from clients and transport packages across the city in exchange for Meow payment. Unlike traditional careers that require formal employment through the Career App, the Freelance Delivery Career operates entirely outside of that system. Zois pick up and complete deliveries on their own schedule with no fixed work hours, no boss, and no formal employment contract.

This career falls under the broader freelance career system in inZOI. Freelance work does not appear in the Career App. Instead, it functions as an independent income source that Zois can pursue alongside a regular career or as their primary way of earning Meow. What sets the Freelance Delivery Career apart from other freelance paths (painting, writing, coding, music, coffee craft) is that it requires no skills whatsoever. Any Zoi can start making deliveries immediately, making it the most accessible freelance option in the game.

The career was first previewed in the inZOI developer diary published on March 7, 2026, and was released alongside other major features including flower shops, movie theaters, the minimap, the memory system, multitasking, and vehicle driving with collision systems.

How to Start

Because the Freelance Delivery Career is not a formal career, Zois do not need to apply through the Career App or go through a job interview. The process for getting started is straightforward:

1. Open the Smartphone by pressing P on the keyboard.

2. Look for available delivery orders from clients. Orders appear as freelance tasks that can be accepted directly.

3. Accept a delivery order to begin the job.

4. Travel to the pickup location, collect the package, and deliver it to the specified destination.

5. Receive Meow payment upon successful delivery.

There are no age restrictions, skill checks, or prerequisite tasks. Any Zoi who is old enough to walk around the city independently can take on delivery work. This makes it an excellent starting point for new households that need income before investing time in skill development or formal career applications.

How It Works

The Freelance Delivery Career follows a straightforward pick-up-and-drop-off gameplay loop. Each delivery is a self-contained task: the Zoi receives an order, picks up the item, travels to the destination, and hands it off. There is no ongoing relationship with an employer, and each completed delivery is paid independently.

The Delivery Loop

The core gameplay cycle for each delivery consists of the following steps:

1. Receive an order: A delivery order appears that specifies a pickup location and a delivery destination. Orders are accepted through the Smartphone.

2. Travel to the pickup point: The Zoi travels to the specified location to collect the package or item. The minimap (added in the same v0.7.0 update) is helpful for navigating to these locations.

3. Pick up the package: Once at the pickup location, the Zoi collects the delivery item.

4. Travel to the destination: The Zoi then travels to the drop-off point using whatever transportation is available: walking, bicycles, personal vehicles, or public transit.

5. Complete the delivery: Hand off the package at the destination to finish the job.

6. Collect payment: Meow is awarded to the Zoi upon successful completion.

After finishing one delivery, the Zoi can immediately pick up another order or go do something else entirely. There is no minimum number of deliveries required per day or week, and there is no penalty for taking a break between orders.

Order Types

Delivery orders can vary in distance and complexity. Some orders require short trips within the same neighborhood, while others may send the Zoi across the city. Longer deliveries generally take more time but tend to pay more Meow to compensate for the added travel. The specific items being delivered are packages from clients; the Zoi does not need to purchase or prepare the items themselves.

Transportation and Route Planning

Transportation is central to the Freelance Delivery Career. The March 2026 update that introduced this career also added vehicle driving with full collision systems, making cars and other vehicles a practical option for getting around the city quickly. Choosing the right mode of transportation for each delivery can significantly affect how efficiently a Zoi earns Meow.

Owning a personal vehicle or bicycle is not required to start doing deliveries, but it makes a significant difference in efficiency. A Zoi on foot will spend far more time traveling between pickup and drop-off points than one with a car. For players who want to focus on delivery income, purchasing at least a bicycle early on is a practical investment.

The minimap is particularly useful for delivery work. It displays the Zoi's current location and nearby points of interest, making it easier to navigate to pickup and drop-off locations without constantly opening the full City Map. Learning the layout of the city also helps: Zois who know the streets can plan more direct routes and avoid unnecessary detours.

Cities and Coverage

Freelance delivery work is available across all three cities in inZOI: Dowon, Bliss Bay, and Cahaya. Each city has its own layout, road network, and neighborhood structure, which affects how deliveries play out in practice.

• Dowon is the largest city with a full subway system, making public transit a viable option for delivery work even without a personal vehicle. The dense urban layout means many deliveries are within reasonable walking or cycling distance.

• Bliss Bay is a coastal city with a more spread-out layout. Having a vehicle is more important here because distances between locations tend to be greater.

• Cahaya is the tropical island city introduced with the Island Getaway DLC. Its unique geography means delivery routes may include scenic but winding paths.

Delivery orders can involve travel within a single city. The city a Zoi lives in determines which local orders are available, so players should consider the transportation infrastructure of their chosen city when planning to focus on delivery income.

Income

Delivery pay is awarded in Meow upon successful completion of each order. The amount varies based on factors like the distance between the pickup and drop-off locations and the specific order. Longer deliveries that require crossing the city generally pay more than short neighborhood runs.

Because the delivery career has no skill progression system, there is no quality tier affecting pay (unlike painting, where a Perfect quality painting can sell for nearly 7,000 Meow). Instead, delivery income is purely based on completing orders. This makes earnings more predictable but also caps the ceiling compared to high-level creative freelance work.

Income Comparison with Other Freelance Paths

At the highest skill levels, painting dramatically outearns every other freelance path, with players reporting 20,000 to 30,000 Meow per day at Art Level 10 using multiple easels. Delivery income does not scale the same way because there is no skill to level up. However, delivery requires zero upfront skill investment, meaning a Zoi can start earning on day one without spending hours training.

Requirements

The Freelance Delivery Career has the lowest barrier to entry of any income source in inZOI. There are no formal requirements:

• No skill requirements: Unlike painting (Art), writing (Critical Thinking), or coding (Programming), delivery work does not require any skill levels. There is nothing to train before starting.

• No job application: Because it is a freelance path, there is no need to open the Career App, apply for a position, or sit through a job interview.

• No equipment: A Zoi does not need to own an easel, computer, piano, or any other item. The only tool used is the Smartphone, which every Zoi already has.

• No career conflicts: Delivery work can be done alongside a full-time or part-time career. There is no scheduling conflict because freelance deliveries are done on the Zoi's own time.

While nothing is strictly required, the following factors make deliveries more efficient and profitable:

Combining with Other Work

One of the strongest aspects of the Freelance Delivery Career is that it stacks naturally with other income sources. Because there are no fixed work hours and no career slot is used, a Zoi can do delivery work during off-hours from their regular career.

Most traditional careers in inZOI involve 6- to 9-hour work shifts, leaving the Zoi with significant free time. A Zoi working a Law Career (6-hour shifts) or Education Career (6-hour shifts) has plenty of time to pick up a few deliveries after work. Similarly, Zois with part-time employment have even more flexibility.

Delivery also pairs well with other freelance activities. A Zoi who is leveling their Art or Programming skill can do deliveries during breaks between creative sessions. Since deliveries get the Zoi out of the house and moving around the city, they also serve as a change of pace from desk-based or easel-based work.

Advantages and Limitations

Advantages

• Zero barrier to entry: No skills, no application, no interview, no equipment. The most accessible way to earn Meow in the game.

• Complete schedule flexibility: No mandatory work hours. Deliveries can be done at any time of day or night.

• Stacks with any career: Does not occupy a career slot, so it can supplement income from a full-time job or other freelance work.

• Gets the Zoi moving: Delivery work naturally takes the Zoi around the city, which can trigger random encounters, social interactions, and exploration.

• No upfront investment: While a vehicle helps, it is not required. A Zoi can start earning Meow with nothing but their Smartphone and their feet.

• Synergizes with the minimap: The minimap added in the same update makes navigation much easier, directly benefiting delivery work.

Limitations

• Lower income ceiling: Without skill-based quality scaling, delivery income cannot match high-level painting or programming earnings.

• Travel time: Each delivery requires physical travel to pickup and drop-off points. Without a vehicle, this can be time-consuming.

• No progression system: There are no promotions, skill unlocks, or new delivery types to work toward. The gameplay loop stays consistent.

• Transportation costs: Using taxis or public transit for deliveries eats into profits. Owning a vehicle involves upfront costs.

Tips for Efficient Delivery Work

1. Invest in a bicycle early. It is the most cost-effective way to speed up deliveries. Bicycles are cheap compared to cars and do not have fuel costs. For a Zoi just starting out, a bicycle provides a major speed boost over walking.

2. Use the minimap. Keep the minimap visible on screen so you can track your position relative to delivery destinations without pausing to open the full map.

3. Combine delivery runs with other errands. If a delivery destination is near a store, friend's house, or community lot your Zoi needs to visit, do both in one trip to save travel time.

4. Take advantage of public transit in Dowon. The Dowon subway system covers long distances quickly. If a delivery crosses the city, a subway ride may be faster than driving through traffic.

5. Stack with a short-shift career. Careers with 6-hour work days (Law, Education) leave plenty of time for delivery work in the remaining hours.

6. Use delivery work to explore the city. Deliveries naturally take the Zoi to different neighborhoods. Use this as an opportunity to discover new lots, meet NPCs, and find locations that may be useful later.

7. Upgrade to a vehicle when finances allow. Once the Zoi has saved enough Meow from deliveries and other income, purchasing a vehicle dramatically improves delivery speed and per-hour earning potential.

The Freelance Delivery Career was first shown in the inZOI developer diary published on March 7, 2026 ("Week 1 March 2026"). Director Hyungjun "Kjun" Kim included it alongside other in-development features as part of the team's regular progress updates. At the time, the feature was listed in the "Planned" or "In-Progress" columns of the development tracker.
