Driving is an optional Transportation feature in inZOI that allows Zois to manually operate vehicles through the city streets. The driving system is currently experimental, with manual control available as an optional setting. Seven purchasable car models are available, including three from a partnership with Hyundai. Players can drive in both third-person and first-person perspectives.
Enabling Manual Driving
Manual driving is available as an experimental feature in the game settings. Once enabled, players can directly control their Zoi's vehicle using standard driving controls. The system uses a simplified driving model that prioritizes fun over simulation accuracy.
Available Vehicles
Seven cars are available for purchase in inZOI, split between four in-game brand vehicles and three real-world Hyundai models:
InZOI Brand Vehicles
Vehicle | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
InZOI Compact | City car | Affordable starter vehicle |
InZOI Sedan | Standard sedan | Mid-range family vehicle |
InZOI SUV | Sport utility | Larger vehicle for families |
InZOI Sports | Sports car | High-end performance vehicle |
Hyundai Partnership Vehicles
inZOI features a real-world brand partnership with Hyundai, including three officially licensed vehicle models:
Vehicle | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Hyundai IONIQ 5 | Electric crossover | Officially licensed Hyundai model |
Hyundai IONIQ 6 | Electric sedan | Officially licensed Hyundai model |
Hyundai CASPER | Micro SUV | Compact city car from Hyundai |
Purchasing a Car
Cars are purchased through the in-game shopping interface using Meow. Important restrictions apply:
Only the oldest family member in the household can purchase a car
A household can own only one car at a time
Cars cost a significant amount of Meow, making them a major purchase decision
Driving Controls
When manual driving is enabled, players control the vehicle with standard movement controls. Two camera perspectives are available:
View | Description |
|---|---|
Third Person | Camera follows behind the vehicle, showing the car and surroundings |
First Person | Camera is inside the vehicle looking through the windshield |
Switch between views using the TAB key while driving. The driving physics are simplified compared to dedicated racing games, focusing on getting around the city rather than realistic vehicle dynamics.
Driving vs Other Transportation
In the current Early Access version, walking is often faster than driving due to the simplified traffic system and city layout. Other Transportation options include the subway system in Dowon and the bus system in Bliss Bay, both of which provide fast travel between stops.
Planned Improvements
The 2026 Roadmap includes several vehicle-related improvements:
Improved vehicle deceleration physics
Better vehicle animations
Vehicle modding support planned for June 2026
Taxi driver career with driving mechanics
Delivery and transportation business options
