Overview
Poisoned is a toxin damage-over-time status effect in Crimson Desert that bleeds health out over the duration of the debuff without requiring any input from the source. Unlike bleed it scales with toxin damage and is separately resisted from physical effects.
How It Is Applied
Poison Arrows (special arrow variant)
Poison blow darts from Scarlet Blade enemies
Poisoned traps
Witch alchemy items
Certain swamp enemies and spiders in the Hernand region
Effect Details
Poison ticks passive damage over a fixed duration. Total damage is modest compared to burn but uncontested by armor types that shrug off fire or ice. It does not interrupt actions, so it is best used as a long-fight chip damage tool against heavily armored enemies.
Resistance and Removal
Scarlet Blade Gas Mask fully negates poison and confusion effects, farmable from Bleed Bandits around Fort Perwin
Cooked dishes with poison resistance
Armor with poison defense
Waiting out the duration
There is no dedicated antidote consumable. Cures come from masks, food, and armor.
Combos and Interactions
Poison Arrows paired with stealth headshots apply the effect without aggroing groups. Poison pairs poorly with fire on the same target because the DoTs overlap but do not stack multiplicatively.
Notable Enemies and Bosses
Scarlet Blade and Bleed Bandits in the Fort Perwin area apply poison through gas attacks. Swamp spiders in Hernand and the Crimson Night boss encounter also reference poison counters.
Tips
Keep a Scarlet Blade Gas Mask for poison-heavy zones.
Cook poison-resistance soups before infiltrating cultist camps.
Use Poison Arrows against heavily armored targets where physical hits are resisted.
Stack poison resistance gear before tackling Crimson Night.
