Overview
Poison Arrows are a specialized projectile type in Crimson Desert. The in-game description reads: "An arrow with a deadly poison applied to its tip. On impact, the victim is poisoned, steadily losing Health and slowly succumbing to death."
Unlike standard arrows, Poison Arrows apply the Poison debuff to any target they hit. This causes the affected enemy to lose health continuously over a set duration. The ongoing damage stacks well with direct melee or ranged attacks, making Poison Arrows especially effective against high-health targets like bosses.

Effect
When a Poison Arrow strikes an enemy, it inflicts the Poison status effect. Poisoned targets steadily lose Health over the duration of the debuff, taking passive damage without any additional input from the player. The health drain occurs independently of other damage sources, so players can follow up with melee attacks or additional ranged shots to pile on damage while the poison ticks.
The sell price of 4 Silver (compared to 1 Silver for a standard arrow) reflects the added value of the Poison effect. This makes Poison Arrows a premium ammunition type best saved for situations where the sustained damage justifies the higher cost.
How to Obtain
Poison Arrows can be acquired through several methods:
Crafting: Craft at a Blacksmith. The exact recipe has not been fully confirmed, but likely requires standard arrow components plus a poisonous ingredient sourced through Alchemy or Gathering.
Purchasing: Buy from select equipment vendors. Availability and pricing may vary by merchant.
Looting: Dropped by certain enemies, particularly archers who use poisoned ammunition.
Usage
Poison Arrows are used as ammunition for bows. They occupy the dedicated ammo slot and can be swapped in through the Quick Equipment Slots radial menu during combat. When the player draws and fires a bow with Poison Arrows equipped, each shot consumes one Poison Arrow and applies the Poison debuff on hit.
Because of their premium cost and limited availability, Poison Arrows are best reserved for challenging encounters. Using them against regular enemies is wasteful when standard arrows can handle the job. Save Poison Arrows for boss fights, elite enemies, and any target with a large health pool where the sustained poison damage provides a meaningful advantage.
Tips
Use Poison Arrows at the start of a boss fight to get the health drain ticking early, then switch to standard arrows or melee to conserve your supply.
The Poison debuff stacks well with Precision Focus slow-motion shots. Land a precise hit to maximize the value of each Poison Arrow.
Pair Poison Arrows with flaming arrow techniques for combined elemental and status damage. Light a standard arrow on fire for burst damage, then switch to Poison Arrows for sustained drain.
Carry a mix of standard arrows and Poison Arrows. Use the Quick Equipment Slots to swap between them depending on the threat level of each encounter.
