Overview
Focused Repulsion is a Spirit Skill Tree ability exclusive to Kliff. When hit while in a Focused state, you can repel everything around you, pushing enemies and projectiles away in a powerful shockwave. It serves as a defensive counter-tool that punishes enemies for attacking you during Focus mode.

How to Unlock
Upgrade Focus to Level 2 to unlock Focused Repulsion. Focus itself is learned during Chapter 2's main quest, and upgrading it to Level 2 costs 1 Abyss Artifact. Alternatively, Focused Repulsion can be learned by observing the skill in action during gameplay. When learning through observation, the screen darkens and a "Learning in Progress..." notification appears in the upper left corner.
Focus Branch Progression
Level | Skill | Effect |
|---|---|---|
Lv.1 | Enter Focus mode to slow down time and restore Spirit | |
Lv.2 | Repel everything around you when hit during Focus | |
Lv.3 | Gain enhanced awareness of enemy weak points during Focus |
How It Works
Activate Focus mode (L3+R3 on controller, X on PC) to slow down time and begin regenerating Spirit. While Focus is active, if an enemy strikes you, press the attack button (R1 on controller) to unleash a repulsion shockwave. The blast pushes back all nearby enemies and deflects incoming projectiles.
Using Focused Repulsion automatically ends Focus mode. This means you trade the ongoing time-slow and Spirit regeneration for a powerful AoE knockback. The shockwave has a generous radius, hitting everything within melee range.
Combat Tips
Focused Repulsion is particularly effective when surrounded by multiple enemies, as the shockwave hits all of them at once. Enter Focus, let an enemy swing, then trigger the repulsion to create breathing room.
Against bosses, the repulsion can stun for a few seconds, giving you a free damage window. Two successive wind blasts (re-entering Focus between each) are generally enough to stagger most bosses.
The ability is also effective at clearing Crimson Fog in a small radius around you, which can be crucial during encounters where the red fog obscures visibility and drains health.
At 10 Spirit per activation, the cost is low. Since Focus mode regenerates Spirit while active, you can often enter Focus, gain back more Spirit than the repulsion costs, and still come out ahead on resources.
Focused Repulsion pairs naturally with Focused Force Palm and Focused Insight for a Focus-centric playstyle that uses time manipulation as both offense and defense.
