Crocodiles are aggressive wildlife in Windrose's Cursed Swamps biome. They lurk in shallow waters, ambush from concealment, and deal heavy damage with their bite attacks. Crocodiles drop Crocodile Hide Piece and Crocodile Tail, both used for advanced armor recipes and crafting station upgrades including the Distiller, Bellows, and Material Rack. The Plague Crocodile is a corrupted variant found deeper in the swamps that drops Tainted Bile.

Plague Crocodile Variant
The Plague Crocodile is a corrupted variant found in the deeper reaches of the Cursed Swamps. It is larger, more aggressive, and applies plague damage-over-time effects on bite. Plague Crocodiles drop Tainted Bile in addition to standard Crocodile Hide Piece. Tainted Bile is a key ingredient for endgame crafting recipes including Ingot Arborum at the Enchanting Table.
Hunting Strategy
Approach Cursed Swamps water areas slowly; crocodiles often ambush from concealment
Stay on dry land when possible; crocodiles are faster and more dangerous in water
Use Pierce damage weapons (rapier, musket) for fastest kills; their hide resistance is low to Pierce
Bring Healing Potion (Great) and Bandages; crocodile bites deal heavy damage
Cooking Crocodile Tail into Seasoned Crocodile Meat is one of the highest-value cooking conversions in the game
Crafting Pipeline
Crocodile Hide Piece is a core late-game material:
Plan your Cursed Swamps trips around farming Crocodiles in batches; you typically need 30+ Crocodile Hide Pieces to fully upgrade your station chain.
