Self-Service Terminal
The Self-Service Terminal is an interactive kiosk located inside the Community Center in Starsand Town. It serves as the central hub for claiming DLC rewards, distributing purchased and free downloadable content directly to the player's inventory. The terminal appears as a digital machine rather than an NPC, and it automatically detects which DLC packs are linked to the player's account.
Location
The Self-Service Terminal is found inside the Community Center, the main administrative building in Starsand Town. The Community Center is open 24 hours a day (0:00 to 24:00) and is staffed by Mayor Regis and Solara. The terminal sits near the interior of the building. Players can travel to the Community Center at any time to interact with it.
Prerequisites
Before the Self-Service Terminal will release any DLC rewards, two conditions must be met:
Install the DLC: The DLC must be properly installed or added to the player's library through their gaming platform (Steam, Xbox, etc.). Free DLC packs still need to be manually added from the store page.
Complete "Return to the Cabin in the Woods": This main story quest must be finished before the terminal becomes functional. Until this quest is complete, the terminal will not display any claimable rewards.
Once both conditions are satisfied, a follow-up quest will appear directing the player to visit the terminal and pick up their items.
How to Claim DLC Items
Claiming items from the Self-Service Terminal is straightforward. Follow these steps:
Ensure the DLC is downloaded and installed on your platform.
Complete the "Return to the Cabin in the Woods" quest if you have not already.
Travel to the Community Center in Starsand Town.
Enter the building and locate the Self-Service Terminal.
Interact with the terminal to open the claiming menu.
Select the DLC reward package you want to claim.
Confirm the claim when prompted.
Items transfer instantly to the player's inventory with no waiting period or storage requirement. Claimed items behave like standard in-game furniture, outfits, or vehicles once collected. Each DLC package can only be claimed once per save file.
Available DLC Packs
The following DLC packs can be claimed through the Self-Service Terminal. All DLC items are cosmetic and provide no gameplay advantages.
DLC Pack | Price | Contents |
|---|---|---|
Chinese New Year Furniture & Fashion | Free | Traditional Chinese New Year furniture set, Neo-Chinese outfit |
Ribbit Holiday | Free | Sunny Splash Swimsuit, Frog Onesie Pajamas |
Gratitude Gift Pack | Free (Steam only) | Yellow Swimsuit Theme Set, Pink Frog Pajama Set |
Classic European Furniture, Fashion & Vehicles | Paid | Classical furniture set, Elegant Formal Outfit, Pumpkin Carriage vehicle |
The Deluxe Edition bundle includes the base game along with the Chinese New Year and Classic European DLC packs.
Troubleshooting
DLC items not appearing in the terminal
Verify the DLC is installed. On Steam, go to the game's store page, scroll to "Content For This Game," and click "Add to your Library" for any free DLC. Free DLC packs are not added automatically.
Confirm that the "Return to the Cabin in the Woods" quest has been completed. The terminal locks all rewards behind this quest.
Restart the game after installing new DLC. Some platforms require a relaunch before the terminal recognizes newly added content.
Platform-specific notes
The Gratitude Gift Pack is exclusive to Steam. Players on Xbox or Game Pass cannot claim it.
On Xbox, DLC must be downloaded from the Microsoft Store before it appears in the terminal.
