How to Obtain
There are three main ways to acquire Fleece in Crimson Desert, each suited to different stages of the game.
1. Sheep Ranching at Greymane Camp (Passive Farming)
The most reliable long-term source of Fleece is the sheep ranch at Greymane Camp. Once unlocked through story progression, you can build a ranch and populate it with sheep that produce Fleece automatically over time.
How to unlock: Complete the "A Rumour in Goldleaf Trading Post" faction quest, accessible through the Grounds of Sunrise quest chain.
Advantage: Requires zero ongoing effort once established. The sheep produce Fleece passively without needing to leave camp.
Yield: Fleece accumulates over time and can be collected periodically from the ranch.
2. Enemy Loot Drops
Fleece drops from defeated enemies, particularly bandits found throughout the Hernand region. Bandit camps have notably high drop rates for raw materials including Fleece. Black Bear enemies also drop Fleece on occasion.
Best farming areas: Bandit camps scattered across the Hernand region
Tip: Use your pet companion to pick up loot automatically, making farming runs more efficient.
Additional source: Sheep and Black Bear enemies
3. Provisioner's Shop in Hernand Town (Vendor)
After reaching Chapter 4 in the main story, the Provisioner's Shop in the City of Hernand begins stocking Fleece for purchase.
Unlock requirement: Chapter 4 story progression
Restock schedule: Daily at midnight (in-game time)
Note: This is the most straightforward method for mid-to-late game players who need Fleece in bulk.
Crafting and Refinement Uses
Fleece is used as a refinement material at the blacksmith. It is specifically required for upgrading the following equipment categories:
Description | |
|---|---|
Light armor sets prioritizing mobility and stamina. Fleece improves their defensive rating during refinement. | |
Back-slot accessories providing elemental resistance. Refinement with Fleece increases base defense and resistance levels. | |
Jewelry | Accessories providing stat enhancements. Fleece refinement boosts their effects at the blacksmith. |
Crafting Recipes Requiring Fleece
Fleece is also used in crafting recipes for cloth-based equipment. The following recipes require Fleece as an ingredient:
Recipe Category | Materials Required |
|---|---|
Cloth Armor (Body) | 10 Cloth Pieces + 2 Fleece |
5 Cloth Pieces + 1 Fleece | |
Cloth Cloak | 10 Cloth Pieces + 2 Fleece |

Farming Tips
The Greymane Camp ranch is the best passive source. Set it up as early as possible and collect Fleece between other activities.
If you need Fleece before unlocking the ranch, focus on clearing bandit camps in the Hernand region. These have the highest drop rates.
The vendor in Hernand Town becomes the most convenient source after Chapter 4. Stock refreshes daily at midnight in-game time, so buy in bulk when prices are favorable.
Fleece becomes more plentiful as you progress past Chapter 4. Early-game scarcity is normal.
Higher-level gear refinement requires larger quantities of Fleece, so stockpile it even if you do not need it immediately.
Ranch Production Details
Upgrading the Greymane Camp ranch facilities increases Fleece production efficiency. As you progress through the camp upgrade tiers, the sheep ranch produces wool at a faster rate. Each tier may require additional construction materials like timber and ore. Investing in ranch upgrades early pays off in the long run, as higher-tier gear refinement requires larger quantities of Fleece.
Dispatch Missions
Reunited Greymane companions can be sent on dispatch missions to gather Fleece and other materials while Kliff pursues other activities. Dispatch missions for fiber materials tend to have shorter completion times than mining or logging missions, making them a reliable supplement to ranch production.
