Overview
Fleece is a crafting material in Crimson Desert used for refinement at the blacksmith. It upgrades soft armor, cloaks, and jewelry. Fleece has three distinct sources: enemy drops from bandits, the Provisioner's Shop in Hernand, and sheep farming at Greymane Camp. The camp method is passive and becomes available through story progression.
How to Obtain Fleece
Source | Location | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Bandits (enemy loot) | Bandit camps and patrols throughout the Hernand region | Same enemies that drop Cloth Piece; loot both from the same fights |
Provisioner's Shop | Inventory refreshes daily at midnight in-game time | |
Sheep Ranch (Greymane Camp) | Passive production; unlocked through story progression |
Bandits
Bandits in the Hernand region drop Fleece when defeated. Bandit camps dot the landscape and patrols roam the roads, so you will collect Fleece naturally as you work through the main story and side content. This is the same source that provides Cloth Piece, so clearing bandit encounters yields both materials at once.
Provisioner's Shop
Fleece can be purchased from the Provisioner's Shop in Hernand town. The stock refreshes at midnight each in-game day. Sleep at a nearby bed to speed up the restock timer if you need to buy in bulk.
Greymane Camp Sheep Ranch
After progressing far enough in the main story, you unlock the ability to build facilities at Greymane Camp. One available facility is a sheep ranch. Once constructed, the ranch produces Fleece passively over time. This is the only material in this category that can be generated without active hunting or combat, making it a good long-term investment for players who use a lot of soft armor upgrades.
Crafting Uses
Fleece is used at the blacksmith during refinement to upgrade soft armor, cloaks, and jewelry. It fills a similar role to Cloth Piece in that both feed into light-armor upgrade paths. Some refinement recipes may call for both Fleece and Cloth Piece, so farming bandits (which drop both) is efficient.
Tips
Build the sheep ranch at Greymane Camp as soon as it becomes available. The passive Fleece production adds up over time and reduces your need for active farming.
If you are clearing bandit camps for Cloth Piece, loot every body for Fleece as well. Both materials come from the same enemies.
The Provisioner's Shop is a good stopgap when you are a few pieces short for a specific refinement recipe.
