Furs

Furs are soft Crafting Materials gathered through Hunting in Crimson Desert. This category includes Fleece, obtained from sheep and similar woolly animals, and Feather, gathered from birds. Both materials are used in crafting cloth-based and light armor pieces, as well as certain projectile items and accessories.

Furs are classified as Gatherables under the Crafting Materials umbrella. While not as commonly needed in bulk as leather or ores and gems, furs serve an important role in the creation of light, agility-focused equipment and in certain specialized crafting recipes.

Where to Find Furs

Fleece is gathered from sheep, which are most commonly found in pastoral farmlands and open meadows throughout the Hernand region. Farms near towns often have flocks of sheep that can be hunted or occasionally sheared for their wool. Highland meadows in mountainous areas also host wild sheep that drop Fleece when hunted.

Feathers come from birds of all types. Chickens at farms provide Feathers easily, but wild birds such as pheasants and hawks found in forests and cliffs also drop them. Since birds are generally small and quick, using a bow to hunt them is often the most practical approach.

Uses

Fleece is used primarily in crafting cloth armor and padded equipment. Cloth armor is lighter than leather alternatives and favors characters who rely on mobility and evasion rather than raw defense. Fleece also appears in recipes for padded linings that can be added to heavier armor for comfort bonuses, and in crafting cold-weather cloaks that provide resistance to cold environments.

Feathers are primarily used in projectile crafting, specifically for fletching arrows used with bows. Players who rely on ranged combat will need a steady supply of Feathers to keep their arrow stock replenished. Feathers are also used in some light armor recipes and decorative accessories.

Tips

Farms are the easiest source of both Fleece and Feathers. Visit farms near major towns to quickly stock up on both materials.

Feathers are consumed quickly by bow users who craft their own arrows, so consider stockpiling them before heading into extended exploration or combat zones.

Fleece is lighter than hides in terms of inventory weight, making it easy to carry large quantities without hitting encumbrance limits.
