Overview
Feather is a crafting material in Crimson Desert used for refinement at the blacksmith. It upgrades soft armor, cloaks, and jewelry. Feathers drop from birds, which appear in every biome across the open world, from forests to mountains to deserts.
How to Obtain Feathers
Hunting Birds
Birds are the sole animal source for Feathers. Any bird species works, whether it's a hawk, eagle, or common songbird. The catch is that birds are airborne or perched targets that will flee the moment they sense danger. A bow is the best tool for the job: aim carefully and fire before the bird takes off.
Birds spawn throughout the entire map. You will find them in the woods of Hernand, the snowy peaks of Pailune, the forests of Delesyia, and even desert regions. There is no single best farming spot because they are distributed everywhere. Instead, shoot every bird you see during your travels to build a passive stockpile.
Provisioner's Shop
Feathers can be purchased from the Provisioner's Shop in Hernand town. The inventory restocks at midnight (in-game time) each day. This is a convenient option if you need a specific number of Feathers and don't want to rely on bow accuracy.
Crafting Uses
At the blacksmith, Feather is consumed during refinement to upgrade soft armor, cloaks, and jewelry. Alongside Cloth Piece and Fleece, Feather is one of the core materials for the light-armor refinement track.
Hunting Tips
Always keep a bow equipped and some arrows in reserve. Birds appear without warning and disappear quickly if you can't shoot them on the spot.
Perched birds (sitting on branches, rocks, or rooftops) are easier targets than birds in flight. Scan tree branches and clifftops as you explore.
Slow-motion aim abilities (if available) make bird hunting much easier. Use them to land precise shots on moving targets.
Birds found in open fields and desert areas are often on the ground and easier to spot than woodland birds hidden in the canopy.
The Provisioner's Shop in Hernand is a solid backup source if your aim isn't cooperating.
