Overview
Sturdy Hide is a crafting material in Crimson Desert used for refinement at the blacksmith. It upgrades leather armor and jewelry. Sturdy Hide is obtained from hunting and skinning large reptiles, making it one of the more specialized hide materials in the game.
Sources
Large Reptiles
Sturdy Hide drops from large reptilian creatures found in the open world. These include crocodiles, large lizards, and similar scaly beasts. Look for them near rivers, swamps, and warm lowland areas where reptiles tend to congregate. Their thick scales translate into the tougher hide category compared to mammalian hides like Thin Hide or Short Hair Hide.
Tannery Shop
Sturdy Hide can be purchased from the Tannery in Hernand town. Like all merchant inventories, the Tannery restocks at midnight (in-game time) each day. Sleep at a bed or bonfire to cycle the clock if you need to buy multiple batches.
Crafting Uses
At the blacksmith, Sturdy Hide is used in refinement recipes for leather armor and jewelry. It fills the same upgrade niche as other hide types but comes from a different animal family. If a recipe calls for Sturdy Hide specifically, only this material will satisfy the requirement; you cannot substitute Thick Hide or other hides.
Farming Tips
Large reptiles can be aggressive and hit hard in melee range. Keep your distance with a bow when possible, and dodge their lunging attacks.
Check rivers and wetland areas on the map. Reptile spawn zones tend to cluster near water sources.
The Tannery in Hernand is a dependable backup if you need a specific quantity and don't want to track down reptiles.
Pair Sturdy Hide farming with other material runs. If you're near water hunting reptiles, check for fishing spots to make the trip worthwhile.
