Overview
The Scorchflame Plate Gloves are a pair of Plate Armor gauntlets in Crimson Desert. Found inside a treasure chest within the Twilight Grotto, these gloves stand out for carrying the Volcanic Eruption Abyss Core, which grants passive Spirit regeneration and synergizes with Flame and Abyss elemental skills. With solid offensive stats and a built-in abyss gear focused on sustain, they are a strong pickup for players building around fire-element combat.
Base Stats
The following table shows the unrefined base stats for the Scorchflame Plate Gloves. Like all equipment, these values can be increased through the Refinement system at a blacksmith.
Stat | Value |
|---|---|
Type | Plate Gloves |
ATK | 12 |
DEF | 5 |
ATK SPD | 0 |
MV SPD | 0 |
CRIT | 0 |
LGT RES | 0 |
ICE RES | 0 |
FIRE RES | 0 |
At base values, the Scorchflame Plate Gloves offer 12 ATK and 5 DEF. Among plate gloves in the game, these sit in a solid middle tier offensively, behind options like the Grotevant Plate Gloves (18 ATK) and Frostcursed Plate Gloves (17 ATK), but they make up for lower raw numbers through the Volcanic Eruption abyss gear.
Abyss Gear: Volcanic Eruption
The Scorchflame Plate Gloves come pre-socketed with the Volcanic Eruption abyss core. This core provides the following passive effect:
Abyss Gear | Effect |
|---|---|
Volcanic Eruption | Spirit +0.1 every 1 second |
The Spirit regeneration bonus allows the wearer to recover Spirit passively during combat, reducing downtime between skill uses. This is especially valuable during extended encounters where Spirit management becomes critical.
The Volcanic Eruption core also works in conjunction with Flame and Abyss elemental imbues. When the player uses skills enhanced by these elements, the core causes meteors to erupt alongside the attack, adding a burst of area-of-effect fire damage on top of the skill's normal output. This makes the gloves particularly effective when paired with Flame-imbued abilities such as Flame Strike.
How to Obtain
The Scorchflame Plate Gloves are found in a treasure chest inside Twilight Grotto, a cave located north of Rocca's Hill in the Hernand region. The grotto entrance is hidden behind the second waterfall near Blue Ripple Hearth.
Step-by-Step Directions
Travel to the Blue Ripple Hearth fast travel point, north of Rocca's Hill.
From there, head toward the waterfall nearby. Jump off the cliff edge to reach the waterfall at the base.
Use a charged Stab skill to pass through the waterfall and enter the hidden cave beyond it. This is the second waterfall in the area.
Inside Twilight Grotto, follow the path until you find the treasure chest containing the Scorchflame Plate Gloves.
The Stab skill must be unlocked from the skill tree before attempting this. Without it, the waterfall cannot be passed through.
Refinement
Like all Plate Armor pieces, the Scorchflame Plate Gloves can be refined up to 10 times at any blacksmith. Each refinement level increases the base ATK and DEF values. Plate armor refinement requires ore-based materials such as Iron Ore and Copper Ore, which can be mined from open-world deposits or purchased from merchants across Hernand.
Build Synergies
The Volcanic Eruption core on these gloves makes them a natural fit for fire-focused builds. Consider the following synergies:
Flame Imbue skills: Unlocking the Flame elemental imbue through the Tree of Slumber puzzle (accessed via the Spire of Ringing Truth) allows skills like Flame Strike, Flame Rush, and Flame Quake to benefit from the meteor eruption triggered by the Volcanic Eruption core.
Spirit-hungry builds: The passive Spirit +0.1/sec helps offset the cost of frequent skill usage. Pairing these gloves with other Spirit recovery sources creates strong sustain during prolonged boss fights.
Scorchflame set: The Scorchflame Plate Cloak shares the Scorchflame naming convention and provides Fire Resistance Lv. 3, creating a thematic and functional pairing for fire-element builds.
Comparison with Other Gloves
The table below compares the Scorchflame Plate Gloves against other notable gloves in the game.
Gloves | ATK | DEF | Notable Feature |
|---|---|---|---|
Scorchflame Plate Gloves | 12 | 5 | Volcanic Eruption (Spirit +0.1/sec, fire meteor) |
Grotevant Plate Gloves | 18 | 3 | Highest ATK among plate gloves |
Frostcursed Plate Gloves | 17 | 5 | Strong all-around plate gloves |
Kairos Plate Gloves | 18 | 3 | High ATK alternative |
Fluttering Radiance Plate Gloves | 15 | 4 | Balanced offensive plate gloves |
Great Thief's Gloves | 15 | 5 | Great Thief special effect |
Sunset Reed Cloth Gloves | 11 | 1 | Two Abyss Core slots, Slashing Reed skill |
While the Scorchflame Plate Gloves do not lead in raw ATK numbers, the combination of decent base stats, passive Spirit recovery, and the fire meteor effect from Volcanic Eruption gives them a unique niche that pure stat-stick gloves cannot match.
Notes
The Volcanic Eruption abyss core cannot be removed or replaced without visiting a witch NPC who specializes in abyss gear extraction.
Additional abyss core sockets can be added to the gloves using the Create Socket function, allowing further customization.
These gloves have no movement speed or attack speed bonuses at base, so players who prioritize mobility may want to supplement with accessories or other armor pieces.
Twilight Grotto contains only this one treasure chest, so there is no reason to revisit the location after collecting the gloves.
