Golden Greed Plate Armor
The Golden Greed Plate Armor is the body armor piece of the Golden Greed set in Crimson Desert. Found at castle ruins southeast of Venom Blade Grotto behind a hidden breakable wall. Features Abyss Cores with movement, health regeneration, and swim speed multiplier effects.
Overview
The Golden Greed Plate Armor is a Body Armor piece in Crimson Desert and one of five components of the Golden Greed Set. As the chest piece of the set, it provides substantial defensive stats and comes with Abyss Core slots that are pre-loaded with effects including movement bonuses, health regeneration, and a swim speed multiplier.
The armor is found inside castle ruins southeast of Venom Blade Grotto in the Tashkalp region. Unlike many chest armor pieces that are obtained from merchants or crafting, this one requires players to discover a hidden breakable wall inside the ruins to access the treasure chest.
Stats
Stat | Value |
|---|---|
Type | Plate Body Armor |
Max Refinement | 10 |
Default Abyss Cores
The Golden Greed Plate Armor comes with the following Abyss Core effects already socketed when obtained:
Abyss Core Effect | Description |
|---|---|
Movement Bonus | Increases general movement speed |
Health Regeneration | Passively restores HP over time |
Swim Speed Multiplier | Increases swimming speed |
While these default Abyss Cores provide useful utility bonuses, players may want to consider swapping some of them for more combat-focused cores depending on their build. The swim speed multiplier, for instance, is situational and may be better replaced with a defensive or offensive core for general use. Abyss Cores can be changed at any time through the equipment menu.
How to Obtain
The Golden Greed Plate Armor is hidden inside castle ruins located southeast of Venom Blade Grotto in the Tashkalp region. The ruins are populated with enemies, but players do not need to clear them all to reach the chest.
Step-by-Step
Travel to the castle ruins southeast of Venom Blade Grotto in Tashkalp.
Run through the ruins past the enemies. Clearing them is not required to reach the armor.
Find the stone staircase inside the ruins.
At the top of the staircase, turn left and enter the large doorway.
Equip your lantern and look carefully at the walls. Watch for a glowy leaf or vine marking on the wall surface. This is the secret wall indicator in Crimson Desert; whenever a wall has glowing foliage on it, it can be broken.
Use Force Palm (R3) to punch the marked wall and break through it.
Behind the destroyed wall, open the treasure chest to obtain the Golden Greed Plate Armor.
Recognizing Hidden Walls
Hidden breakable walls in Crimson Desert are marked by a subtle visual cue: a small glowing leaf or vine pattern on the wall surface. These can be difficult to spot in dark environments, so using your lantern is essential. Whenever you see glowing foliage on what appears to be a solid wall, try hitting it with Force Palm to check if it breaks. This same mechanic is used in several other locations throughout the game world.
Part of the Golden Greed Set
The Golden Greed set is a five-piece plate Armor collection scattered across the Tashkalp region:
Piece | Slot | Location |
|---|---|---|
Headgear | Sanctum of Renunciation (light both torches) | |
Footwear | Arahaza Cave (Focused Force Palm on orb) | |
Cloak | Venom Blade Grotto (behind eastern waterfall) | |
Body Armor | Castle ruins southeast of Venom Blade Grotto (hidden wall) | |
Gloves | Gale of Judgment cave (stab through waterfall) |
Notes
Players do not need to defeat every enemy in the castle ruins to reach the armor. Running past them is a viable strategy, especially for lower-level characters exploring the area early.
The default Abyss Cores (movement, health regen, swim speed) are useful for exploration but may not be optimal for combat. Consider swapping the swim speed core for something more universally beneficial like defense or attack.
The hidden wall mechanic that gates this armor is used in other locations as well. Train yourself to look for glowing leaves or vines on walls, especially in dark interiors.
A lantern is required to reliably spot the glowing wall indicator. Keep one in your inventory when exploring ruins and dungeons.
As plate body armor, refinement requires ores obtained through Mining.
