Overview
The Balton Mace is a one-handed mace in Crimson Desert. It falls under the one-handed weapons category and offers a slightly higher attack power than its hammer counterpart, the Balton Hammer. With 12 attack power and three core slots, the Balton Mace is a craftable early-game option for players who prefer the stagger-heavy playstyle of blunt weapons.

Maces in Crimson Desert swing slower than swords and rapiers, but their strength lies in stunlocking enemies and breaking through defenses. A well-timed mace combo can keep an opponent staggered long enough to deal serious damage without taking a hit in return. This makes maces especially appealing during encounters with heavily armored foes who shrug off lighter strikes.

How to Obtain
Crafting
The Balton Mace can be crafted at any blacksmith after unlocking its recipe. The recipe is contained in the One-Handed Weapons Volume 1 crafting book, available from Rhett at the Hernand Equipment Shop. Purchase the book and examine it in your inventory to add the recipe to your crafting list.
Required materials:
Iron Ore x5
Copper Ore x2
These basic ores are available from mining nodes throughout the Hernand region. A standard pickaxe is all you need to gather them.
Refinement
Refinement at a blacksmith increases the Balton Mace's attack power across ten levels. The first few levels require only Silver and common ores. Higher refinement tiers call for rarer resources like Bloodstone, Scolecite Ore, and Abyss Artifacts. Each level provides a meaningful stat increase, so refining even a starter weapon before a tough fight is worth the investment.
Combat Tips
The mace's stunlock potential shines in one-on-one encounters. Land the first hit and follow up with a full combo to keep your target locked down
Against groups, the mace is less forgiving because of its slower swing speed. Switch to a faster weapon or use positioning to isolate targets before committing to a mace combo
Pair the Balton Mace with a shield for a defensive setup, or with a pistol to open fights at range before closing in
If you are looking for more power in the mace category, the Wells Mace offers 16 attack power and is a strong upgrade path
