Starsand Island has four buildable property areas that you unlock as you progress through the Island Life Ranking system. Each property offers unique terrain, scenery, and strategic advantages. You start with Hopeland and gradually unlock Cloudrest Lake, Blue Beach, and Windflute Island as you reach higher Island Life ranks.
Expanding your land is the most expensive investment in the game. The total cost to purchase all four properties and fully expand Hopeland runs into the tens of millions of coins, so understanding the price progression and prioritizing the right expansions is critical for efficient progression.
Property | Unlock Requirement | Purchase Price | Environment | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Starting area (free) | Free (expansions cost 2,000 to 160,000 coins each) | Grassland near Starsand Town | Farming, ranching, early-game base | |
Home Builder rank | 2,000,000 coins | Bamboo forest with central lake | Ranching, fishing, scenic builds | |
Bright Star rank | 6,000,000 coins | Coastal beach area | Fishing, beach-themed builds | |
Starsand Legend rank | 10,000,000 coins | Secluded offshore island | Endgame showcase, large-scale projects |
Property prices were rebalanced in Patch 0.3.2537. Cloudrest Lake was originally 6,000,000 coins and Blue Beach was 2,000,000 coins; the prices were swapped to better match the unlock progression.
Hopeland is your starter property, a grassy area located south of Starsand Town. You receive it for free at the beginning of the game and it comes with a basic house structure. Hopeland is centrally located, making it convenient for daily trips to town shops, the Community Center, and NPC locations.
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Proximity | Closest property to Starsand Town, the General Store, and most profession mentors. |
Flat terrain ideal for crop fields and sprinkler layouts. | |
Close to Green Pasture Ranch, making it convenient for buying livestock and animal supplies from Pastelle. | |
Expansion priority | Every plot pays for itself through increased crop production. Expand Hopeland first. |
Hopeland has 8 purchasable expansion plots in the Early Access build. Each plot increases your buildable and farmable area. Prices escalate sharply with each upgrade.
Plot | Coin Cost | Starsand Cost | Cumulative Coins | Cumulative Starsand |
|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 2,000 | 50 | 2,000 | 50 |
2 | 15,000 | 75 | 17,000 | 125 |
3 | 30,000 | 90 | 47,000 | 215 |
4 | 50,000 | 130 | 97,000 | 345 |
5 | 75,000 | 160 | 172,000 | 505 |
6 | 100,000 | 200 | 272,000 | 705 |
7 | 130,000 | 250 | 402,000 | 955 |
8 | 160,000 | 300 | 562,000 | 1,255 |
Fully expanding Hopeland costs a total of 562,000 coins and 1,255 Starsand Points. The first few plots are affordable, but plots 6 through 8 require serious savings. Prioritize buying at least 6 plots before moving on to other properties, since reaching 6 Hopeland expansions is a prerequisite for unlocking Cloudrest Lake at the Home Builder rank.
Cloudrest Lake is a serene bamboo forest lakeside area located north of Starsand Town. It is unlocked at the Home Builder rank of Island Life progression. The area features bamboo groves, rolling hills, a central lake, and a pier.
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Purchase price | 2,000,000 coins (reduced from 6,000,000 in Patch 0.3.2537). |
Scenery | One of the most visually appealing properties with lush bamboo forests and waterfront views. |
Ranching space | The rolling terrain provides ample room for multiple animal enclosures. |
Fishing | The central lake offers freshwater fishing directly on your property. |
Expansion priority | Second priority after Hopeland, especially if you are pursuing ranching. |
Blue Beach is a coastal area unlocked at the Bright Star rank. It features sandy shores, ocean views, and proximity to deep-sea fishing.
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Purchase price | 6,000,000 coins. |
Ocean access | Direct access to ocean fishing without needing to travel to the port. |
Beach aesthetic | Ideal for players who want a tropical or beach-themed homestead. |
Located near Half-Moon Bay, the site of the annual Beach Festival. | |
Expansion priority | Third priority. Expand only as needed for maritime operations or aesthetic builds. |
Windflute Island is the fourth and final property, unlocked at Starsand Legend rank, the highest tier of Island Life progression. It is the largest available land area and serves as the endgame property.
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Purchase price | 10,000,000 coins. |
Largest area | Windflute offers the most building space of any property, suitable for ambitious layouts. |
Secluded setting | Located offshore, separate from the main island, providing a private sanctuary feel. |
Endgame showcase | Use it for elaborate decorative builds, large-scale farming operations, and showcasing your creativity. |
Expansion priority | Last priority. The property is already large enough for most projects without additional expansion. |
The ability to buy additional land plots becomes available after reaching Island Pro rank in the Island Life progression. Before this rank, you cannot purchase land regardless of how many coins you have. The Island Pro requirements are:
Reach Junior level in any profession.
Place six furniture items in your house.
Collect 2,000 coins.
Meet ten islanders.
Open the phone menu and select the Buy Land option. Each property shows available plots that can be purchased with coins. Prices increase with each plot purchased, so early plots are affordable while later expansions require significant savings.
The recommended expansion order balances income generation with unlock requirements:
Hopeland plots 1 through 6: These are relatively cheap (2,000 to 100,000 coins each) and every additional farming plot generates income that funds further expansion. Buying 6 plots also unlocks the Home Builder rank.
Cloudrest Lake: At 2,000,000 coins, this is a large investment, but the extra space for animal enclosures and the lakeside fishing access are valuable for mid-game income.
Hopeland plots 7 and 8: Finish expanding Hopeland after Cloudrest Lake. The 130,000 and 160,000 coin costs are manageable at this stage.
Blue Beach: At 6,000,000 coins, only buy this when you have a specific use in mind (ocean fishing infrastructure, beach-themed builds, or access to the Beach Festival area).
Windflute Island: At 10,000,000 coins, this is the final purchase. The island is already large, so it is purely an endgame prestige and creativity investment.
All properties support the full building system including structural pieces, furniture placement, and decorations. You can build multiple houses, farm structures, crafting stations, and decorative gardens on each property.
Each property has its own set of available land plots that define the buildable area. Use the Blueprint Library to save and load building designs across properties. This is especially useful for replicating a house design you like on a different property.
Focus on income generation before buying expensive properties. Pickling vegetables and selling to the Merchant Ship are the fastest ways to save for the 2M, 6M, and 10M properties.
Earn Starsand Points efficiently by completing Bulletin Board requests (25 to 100 points each depending on difficulty) and profession quests.
You do not need to fully expand one property before buying another. If you have the coins for Cloudrest Lake but have not bought Hopeland plots 7 and 8, go ahead and buy the lake first for the ranching space.
Each property has a different visual atmosphere. Visit them before buying (when available for preview) to decide which style matches your preferred aesthetic.
