Popplio is a Water-type Pokemon added to Pokemon Pokopia with Bubbly Basin, the first Expansion Pass part, on August 5, 2026. The underwater town is rebuilt together with Popplio and Ditto, making it the area's central Pokemon partner.
Role in Bubbly Basin
Ditto arrives in Bubbly Basin together with Popplio, and the two rebuild the underwater town from there. The official site frames Popplio as the Pokemon you settle in alongside, rather than one you attract later with a habitat.
Development works the same way it does on the surface. Answering requests from Popplio and from the other Pokemon you meet beneath the sea is what gradually grows the town, so the request loop is the main progression driver in the basin.

Specialties
Popplio brings the Hype specialty and the Water specialty to a town. Hype Pokemon dance when music plays nearby and lift the mood of everyone around them, while Water specialists handle watering and help underwater crops along.
