Overview
Pidgey is a Normal/Flying-type Pokemon and one of the earliest Flying-types the player can recruit in Pokemon Pokopia. Pidgey has the Search specialty, which makes it invaluable for locating hidden Glowing Blocks, Lost Relics, and buried items. Its evolved forms, Pidgeotto and Pidgeot, gain the Fly specialty for fast travel to any Pokemon's location via the Pokedex.
How to Attract Pidgey
Pidgey spawns in the Elevated Tall Grass habitat, which is a raised platform habitat that attracts Flying-type and Search-specialist Pokemon. It also appears in the Pretty Flower Bed habitat alongside Hoothoot.

Pidgey is a daytime-only Pokemon. Build its habitat and wait for daytime hours for it to appear. Its ideal habitat type is Bright.
Search Specialty
The Search specialty functions as a Dowsing Machine. When Pidgey is set as your follower, it reacts when hidden Glowing Blocks, buried items, or Mysterious Slates are nearby. This is essential for completing the Lost Relic collection and finding all 27 Mysterious Slates needed to unlock Mew.
Other Search-specialty Pokemon include Paras, Venonat, and Growlithe. Pidgey is one of the easiest to recruit early in the game.
Fly Specialty (Pidgeotto and Pidgeot)
Pidgeotto and Pidgeot have the Fly specialty, which allows fast travel to any befriended Pokemon's location. Open the Pokedex, select a Pokemon you are looking for, then speak to Pidgeotto or Pidgeot. They will carry you directly to that Pokemon's location. This works the same way as the Teleport specialty (from Abra and Kadabra) but uses a different animation.

Tips
Recruit Pidgey as early as possible. The Search specialty is the fastest way to find hidden Glowing Blocks and Mysterious Slates.
Keep Pidgey as your follower while exploring new areas. Switch to a combat or utility Pokemon only when needed for a specific task.
Evolve to Pidgeotto or Pidgeot for the Fly specialty, which pairs perfectly with Search. Locate a Pokemon with Search, then fly to it with Fly.
Build the Elevated Tall Grass habitat early in the Withered Wasteland to recruit Pidgey before moving to other regions.
