Overview
Koffing is a Poison-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Poison Gas Pokemon (Dex #038). Koffing has the Recycle specialty, which allows it to process nonburnable garbage into Iron Ore. It does not teach Ditto any ability.
The Pokedex describes Koffing's gases as lighter than air, which keeps it afloat. It also notes that these gases are foul-smelling and explosive. In the Pokopia Pokedex, Koffing (#038) precedes Weezing (#039). While both share the Recycle specialty and Dark ideal environment, they appear in different habitats (though Weezing can also be found in Koffing's Trash Collection Site at Rare rarity).

Koffing appears in the Trash Collection Site habitat (#063). The habitat description reads: "A place to dump everyone's garbage. You might even spot some trash-hunting Pokemon here!"

The Trash Collection Site attracts several Pokemon: Trubbish (Common), Koffing (Common), Weezing (Rare), and Garbodor (Rare). Since multiple Pokemon share this habitat, the one that appears each time is random. You may need to wait for Koffing specifically or befriend other Pokemon first to clear the spawn pool.

Koffing can be found in Palette Town and Cloud Island. It appears at any time of day and in any weather condition.

Koffing has the Recycle specialty. Pokemon with this specialty can process nonburnable garbage into Iron Ore. To use the specialty, approach Koffing and present it with nonburnable garbage. The processing takes some time, so you will need to come back later to collect the finished Iron Ore.
Nonburnable garbage can be obtained from Pokemon with the Litter specialty, such as Garbodor, which drops nonburnable garbage near its habitat continuously. This creates a convenient pipeline: Litter Pokemon produce garbage, and Recycle Pokemon like Koffing convert that garbage into valuable Iron Ore for crafting.

Koffing's Recycle specialty is one of the most reliable ways to obtain Iron Ore. Pair it with a Litter Pokemon like Garbodor or Trubbish for an ongoing supply chain of garbage into Iron Ore.
The Trash Collection Site habitat is simple to build, requiring only a Waste Bin, a Sign, and Garbage Bags. However, four Pokemon share this habitat, so Koffing may not be the first one to appear.
Feed Koffing bitter foods to keep it happy. Bitter dishes and berries are its preferred flavors.
Koffing prefers a Dark environment. Place it in shaded areas or dimly lit sections of your island for maximum comfort.
