Hariyama

Overview

Hariyama is a Fighting-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Arm Thrust Pokemon (Dex #126). It loves challenging others to tests of strength and has the power to stop a train with a slap. Hariyama is paired with Makuhita (Dex #125) as part of the same family. While there is no evolution mechanic in Pokopia, both can be found independently. Hariyama carries the Build and Bulldoze specialties, the same pair as Makuhita, but Hariyama is harder to find as a Rare visitor.

Habitat

Hariyama shares both of its habitats with Makuhita, but spawns as a Rare visitor at each.

Tree-shaded Yellow Tall Grass (#051)

A patch of yellow tall grass growing in the shade of a large tree. This habitat also attracts Zubat at night.

Hariyama is a Rare visitor at this habitat. It appears during all times of day (Dawn, Day, Dusk, Night) and in all weather (Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy).

All Packed Up (#080)

Hariyama is a Rare visitor here as well. It shares this habitat with Farfetch'd (Common) and Makuhita (Common). Available at all times and in all weather.

Location

Both habitats can be placed in any area, including Withered Wastelands, Bleak Beach, Rocky Ridges, Sparkling Skylands, Palette Town, and Cloud Island. Building both habitats simultaneously increases your chances of encountering Hariyama.

How to Befriend

Since Hariyama is Rare at both habitats, build both the Tree-shaded Yellow Tall Grass and All Packed Up habitats to double your chances. It can appear at any time of day and in any weather, so check regularly. Walk up and interact with Hariyama when it appears.

Specialties

Build

Hariyama has the Build specialty. Pokemon with the Build specialty will lead your building projects when you want to construct a house or structure from a building kit. Hariyama's impressive strength makes it a natural fit for leading construction efforts.

Bulldoze

Hariyama also has the Bulldoze specialty. Pokemon with this specialty can serve as leaders when demolishing Pokemon Centers for reconstruction. When a Pokemon Center needs an upgrade, Hariyama can lead the demolition crew to tear it down before rebuilding.

Preferences

Hariyama prefers bright environments with exercise equipment and construction-themed decorations. It enjoys rides and spicy foods. Place these items near its habitat to boost Comfort Level.

Related Pokemon

Hariyama is paired with Makuhita (Dex #125). In the main Pokemon series, Makuhita evolves into Hariyama at level 24. In Pokopia, both are found independently. They share the same two habitats and the same two specialties (Build and Bulldoze). If you just need a Build or Bulldoze Pokemon, Makuhita is the easier option since it spawns as Common.

Tips

• If you already have Makuhita for Build and Bulldoze duties, Hariyama is not strictly necessary. However, having both provides more coverage across multiple habitats.

• Build both Tree-shaded Yellow Tall Grass and All Packed Up habitats at the same time to maximize your chances of encountering Hariyama.

• Hariyama is one of the largest Pokemon in Pokopia, standing 7'7" tall and weighing nearly 560 pounds. It makes for an impressive addition to your island.

• Unlike Wingull and Pelipper, Hariyama can appear at Night, so you do not need to worry about checking at specific times.
