Overview

Flower farming is part of inZOI's gardening system. Flowers are one of several plant types that Zois can grow outdoors on their property. Unlike vegetable crops that require constant attention, flowers grow on their own once planted and serve as both decorative elements and crafting ingredients. The March 2026 update (v0.7.0) significantly expanded the flower system by introducing bouquet making, flower basket crafting, six new farmable flower varieties, seed purchasing at flower shops, fragrance crafting, and special effects for flowers grown at high Gardening skill levels. These additions transformed flowers from a purely decorative plant type into a full crafting and income pipeline.

Flower Growing Mechanics

Flowers are classified as growing plants in inZOI's Build Mode, found under the outdoor category. They share this category with vegetable seedlings, fruit saplings, and other outdoor plantables. To plant flowers:

1. Enter Build Mode on your Zoi's property.

2. Navigate to the Furniture section, then select the Outdoor category.

3. Browse the growing plants subsection and select a flower variety.

4. Place the flower bed on an outdoor plot with soil access. Flowers cannot be placed indoors or on paved surfaces.

The selection of available flower varieties depends on your Zoi's current Gardening skill level. At lower levels only a handful of flowers are available, but as the skill increases the catalog expands to include rarer and more visually striking blooms.

Growth and Maintenance

Flowers and saplings grow on their own without daily player intervention. This sets them apart from every other plant type in the gardening system. Vegetable crops and potted houseplants require regular watering and fertilizing, while bonsai trees demand periodic pruning. Flowers simply need to be placed and they will progress through their growth stages automatically.

Because flowers require no maintenance, they are the lowest-effort plant type for outdoor decoration. However, the Gardening skill still governs the variety of flowers available for planting. Higher skill levels unlock a wider selection of growing plants, including more exotic flower varieties that produce more visually appealing blooms.

Growth Timeline

Growing plants in inZOI generally take about two or more in-game days to reach full maturity. The actual time depends on the in-game day length setting. If your day length is set to 4 or 24 hours, plants (including flowers) will take considerably longer to sprout. For faster results, set the day length to 48 or 96 minutes in the game settings. Since flowers do not need watering or fertilizing, there is nothing to do during the growth period except wait.

Flowers vs. Crops

The key differences between flowers and food crops are important to understand when planning your garden layout and deciding how to use your outdoor space.

For players who want a low-maintenance garden that still generates income, flowers are the better choice. For players who enjoy daily farming routines and want cooking ingredients, crop farming is the way to go. Many players maintain a mixed garden with both flowers and crops to benefit from both systems.

Decorative Uses

Before the v0.7.0 update, flowers served primarily as outdoor decoration. They remain one of the easiest ways to improve the look of a Zoi's property. Common decorative strategies include:

• Curb appeal: Placing flower beds along the front of a house to make the entrance more inviting.

• Themed garden areas: Creating dedicated flower gardens alongside other outdoor furniture such as benches, picnic tables, or garden paths.

• Color variety: Mixing different flower types to create colorful displays that change with seasonal lighting.

• Space filling: Using flowers to fill garden areas that do not need to produce crops, preventing the yard from looking bare.

• Property value: A well-decorated exterior contributes to the overall feel of the property and can impress visiting Zois.

Flowers pair well with non-growing decorative plants such as boxwood flowerbeds, rose arches, vine arches, and morning glory lattices. These static decorations cost between 10 and 120 Meow and can be placed alongside growing flowers to create a layered garden design.

Seed Purchasing

The March 2026 update introduced seed purchasing at flower shops. Zois can visit a flower shop in any city and buy seeds for specific flower varieties, then plant them on fertile soil plots on their property. This gives players much more control over which flower types they grow, compared to the pre-set options available in Build Mode.

The system mirrors how crop farming works with the Farming Supply Store, but flowers still require less maintenance once planted. Six new farmable flower varieties were added alongside the seed purchasing system. These expand the selection of plantable flowers significantly, giving players more options for garden design and a wider range of ingredients for bouquet and basket crafting.

Seeds are reasonably priced and available at flower shops across Dowon, Bliss Bay, and Cahaya. The Flower Shop in Petalocity, located in central Bliss Bay, is one of the most accessible locations for purchasing flower seeds early in the game.

Harvesting Flowers

Once flowers reach full maturity, Zois can interact with them and select the Harvest option. Harvested flowers go into the Zoi's inventory as crafting materials. If the Harvest option does not appear, the flower has not yet finished growing and needs more time.

Unlike vegetable crops, which are harvested for cooking or direct sale, flower harvests are used primarily as ingredients for bouquets, flower baskets, and fragrance crafting. Harvested flowers can also be sold directly through the Pocket Market or at a flower shop, though crafting them into arrangements first is almost always more profitable.

Flowers that are left unharvested will not wilt or die. They remain at full maturity indefinitely, so there is no pressure to harvest immediately. This makes flower farming forgiving for players who do not log in every day or prefer a relaxed play style.

Bouquet Making

Bouquet making is a crafting activity introduced in the March 2026 update. Zois can combine harvested flowers into bouquets at a crafting station or through a flower shop. Different flower combinations produce different bouquet styles, encouraging players to grow a diverse garden for maximum crafting variety.

How to Craft a Bouquet

1. Grow flowers to maturity in your garden, or purchase harvested flowers from a flower shop.

2. Harvest blooms from mature flower plants. The harvested flowers go into your Zoi's inventory.

3. Use a crafting station or the flower shop interface to open the bouquet crafting menu.

4. Select a combination of flowers. The resulting bouquet style depends on which flowers you choose and how many you include.

5. Complete the crafting interaction. The finished bouquet appears in your inventory.

Using Bouquets

Bouquets are versatile items with several practical uses:

Flower Baskets

Flower baskets are a second crafting output introduced alongside bouquets in the March 2026 update. While bouquets are handheld arrangements meant primarily for gifting, flower baskets are larger decorative displays that serve as statement pieces for homes and businesses.

Zois craft flower baskets using the same harvested flowers as bouquets, but baskets typically require more flowers and produce a more visually elaborate result. The crafting process follows the same workflow: harvest flowers, open the crafting menu at a station or flower shop, select the basket option, choose your flower combination, and complete the interaction.

Flower baskets are especially popular as decorative items in home decoration and can be placed on tables, counters, and shelves. They are also sellable through the Pocket Market or flower shop businesses, often at a higher price than individual bouquets due to the additional materials required.

When placing flower baskets or bouquets on market stands in a flower shop, make sure the path is clear. A known bug (reported in v0.7.0) can cause baskets and bouquets to disappear when other Zois are standing in the way of employee Zois trying to place items on the stand.

Special Effects from High Gardening Skill

The March 2026 update introduced a new reward for dedicated gardeners: flowers grown at high Gardening skill levels can gain special effects that go beyond simple decoration and influence gameplay. These enhanced flowers produce more visually impressive blooms and may have additional properties when used in bouquets or baskets.

The exact effects depend on the flower type and the Zoi's skill level. Higher skill levels produce flowers with stronger and more varied effects, making the Gardening skill even more valuable for players who want to maximize the output of their flower farming operation. This mechanic rewards long-term investment in the Gardening skill tree and provides a meaningful progression path for Zois focused on floral activities.

Enhanced flowers are visually distinct from standard blooms, making it easy to identify which plants have been influenced by a high-level gardener. When used as ingredients in bouquets or baskets, these flowers can increase the quality and value of the finished arrangement, resulting in better gift reactions and higher sale prices.

Fragrance

Fragrance crafting is a supplementary feature added alongside the bouquet and basket system. Zois can use harvested flowers to add fragrance to their arrangements, introducing a new crafting dimension that affects both the visual and gameplay properties of the finished product.

Zois with higher Gardening skill levels can craft more complex and desirable fragrances from their harvested flowers, making fragrance a mid-to-late-game crafting element that ties into overall skill progression. The quality of the fragrance depends on both the flower type used and the Zoi's skill level.

Fragrances enhance the perceived quality and value of bouquets and baskets. A fragrant bouquet given as a gift may have a stronger positive effect on relationships than an unscented one, and fragrant items sold through a flower shop business tend to fetch higher prices. This creates an incentive for players to invest in their Gardening skill even if they are primarily interested in the commercial side of flower farming.

Gardening Skill and Flower Farming

The Gardening skill becomes available from the Teenager life stage onward and can be leveled from 1 to 10. While flowers are the least maintenance-intensive plant type, they still interact with the skill system in several important ways.

To level up the Gardening skill efficiently, most players combine flower farming with crop farming and potted plant care. Tending vegetable crops daily and pruning bonsai trees both provide more Gardening XP per interaction than simply placing flowers. However, once the skill is high enough, the passive benefits to flower quality and the unlocked varieties make the investment worthwhile.

Connection to Florist Career and Flower Shop Business

The Florist Career is a dedicated active career that uses the flower farming and arranging systems as core gameplay. Zois working as florists purchase seeds, grow flowers, create bouquets and flower baskets, and sell them to customers. With the March 2026 update, the Florist Career became fully functional, as the bouquet and basket crafting systems it relies on are now implemented.

The flower shop can also be acquired as a business property, meaning players can own and operate a flower shop even without pursuing the Florist Career path. Running a flower shop business involves stocking arrangements on market stands, managing employee Zois, and setting up tip jars to earn additional income based on customer satisfaction.

The flower economy creates a complete gameplay loop: grow flowers at home, harvest and craft them into bouquets or baskets, then sell the finished products through your business or the Pocket Market. Players who invest in both the Gardening skill and business management can build a self-sustaining floral enterprise.

Tips for Efficient Flower Farming

• Start early: Place a few flower beds as soon as you have outdoor space. Since flowers require no maintenance, there is no downside to planting early.

• Diversify your garden: Different flower combinations produce different bouquet and basket styles. Growing a wide variety gives you more crafting options.

• Buy seeds at flower shops: The seed purchasing system introduced in v0.7.0 gives you access to flower types that may not be available in Build Mode at your current skill level.

• Level your Gardening skill: While flowers themselves offer modest skill XP, the benefits of a high Gardening skill (special effects, better fragrances, more varieties) make it worth leveling through other means like crop farming and bonsai pruning.

• Use shorter day settings: Setting your in-game day length to 48 or 96 minutes will speed up flower growth considerably, letting you harvest sooner.

• Craft before selling: Raw harvested flowers are worth less than bouquets or baskets. Always craft your flowers into arrangements before selling for maximum profit.

• Combine with a flower shop business: Owning a flower shop gives you a dedicated retail outlet for your arrangements, often generating more income than Pocket Market listings.

• Watch for the placement bug: When placing bouquets or baskets on market stands in a flower shop, make sure no other Zois are blocking the path. Items can disappear if employee Zois are obstructed.
