Overview
Fishing was available from the Early Access Island Getaway DLC (v0.3.0) on August 20, 2025, with spots in Dowon and Bliss Bay. The v0.3.0 update (August 20, 2025) expanded it alongside the free Island Getaway DLC, adding Cahaya fishing spots and new content. Fishing spots are marked by small cooler bags or tackle boxes near water. Interacting with one presents the fishing options.
How to Fish
Two fishing options are available at every fishing spot:

Equipment
Fishing rods come in multiple tiers. The starting equipment is a basic wooden rod. Higher-tier rods can be crafted or obtained as the Zoi progresses:

The exact crafting recipes for each tier are tied to the Handiwork skill. Community reports are mixed on whether better rods meaningfully improve catch rates in the current version.
Fish Species
Caught fish fall into several categories. Some can be filleted for use in Cooking recipes, while others are collectibles or sell-only.

Non-fish catches include Biko Dolls (collectible items) and garbage (no value). Garbage is more common at lower skill levels.

What to Do with Fish
Sell
Fish can be sold through a Secondhand Sales Counter (purchased from Build Mode's Flea Market Items section). Place fish on the stall and they sell automatically over time. Fish can also be sold through the Pocket Market.
Fillet
Select a caught fish and choose "Fillet Fish" to produce Fish Fillets. Only certain species can be filleted (see table above). Fillets are used as ingredients in cooking recipes:

Display
Some fish, including seahorses, can be placed in fish tanks as decorations. Tanks currently hold one fish at a time. Fish can also be placed on surfaces, but they spoil over time if left out.
Collection Log
The Collection Log tracks every unique fish species caught. Completing fish entries contributes to the overall collection progress.
Tips
Advanced Bait (5 Meow) is worth the cost when fishing for rare species like Great Barracuda.
Cahaya has the widest variety of fish. Rent a boat to reach deep-water spots that are inaccessible from shore.
Fish Fillets are needed for Flatfish Sushi (Cooking Level 3), one of the earlier recipes that requires a fish ingredient.
Selling fish through a Secondhand Sales Counter is passive income. Place the stall outside your home and stock it with catches.
Don't leave fish on surfaces too long. They spoil and become worthless.
Dowon's Harang River Park spots are the most accessible for new players who haven't unlocked Cahaya yet.
