Overview
The Collection Log is a tracking and achievement system in inZOI that records every gathered item your household has ever collected. It was introduced in the v0.3.0 update (August 20, 2025) alongside the free Island Getaway DLC. The Collection Log gives completionist and achievement-oriented players a structured set of goals to work toward. It tracks fish species caught, gemstones mined, crops harvested, jewels crafted, tools obtained, and information gathered through conversations. Completing sections of the log unlocks exclusive furniture rewards, and filling the entire log may unlock a hidden bonus reward.

Since its introduction, the Collection Log has been expanded through subsequent updates. The v0.4.0 update (October 30, 2025) added ghost fish variants and pumpkin farming entries during the Halloween seasonal event. The March 2026 update introduced six new farmable flowers and a flower shop business, potentially adding new entries to the Farming category.
How to Access
The Collection Log is accessed by clicking the book-shaped icon located just below the Property notification board on the right side of the screen during gameplay. The log is a Family Collection Log, meaning it tracks items collected by any member of the household, not just the currently controlled Zoi. If one family member catches a rare fish and another mines a rare gem, both entries appear in the same shared log.
The log opens to a visual grid showing silhouettes for undiscovered items and full-color icons for collected ones. Each entry includes the item's name, a brief description, and hints about where or how to find it. These hints are particularly useful for the Mining category, as they specify which mining spot types yield each gemstone.
Note that the Collection Log is only available after starting a new game following the v0.3.0 update. Save files created before this update do not have access to the log. Starting a new household in any world will activate the feature.
Categories
The Collection Log is divided into six main categories, each tracking a different type of collectible:
Fishing
The Fishing section tracks every fish species caught by any household member. Fish are divided into freshwater and saltwater categories, with species further organized by the location and rod tier required to catch them. The full fish catalog spans species available in Dowon (Harang River Park), Bliss Bay (Sunset Bay and North Beach), and Cahaya (beach, boat, and park fishing spots). Many fish also have day/night requirements.
Completing the fishing section requires visiting all three regions, upgrading to a Diamond or Jewel-tier fishing rod, using Advanced Bait to improve odds on rare catches, and fishing at different times of day. Species like Orca, Whale Shark, and Giant Manta Ray from Cahaya boat fishing are among the hardest to collect. Non-fish items like Garbage and the Biko Doll also have collection entries. See the full Fishing article for a complete species list with rod and time requirements.
Bliss Bay Beach and Cahaya Beach (Saltwater)
The following saltwater species can be caught from the beach fishing spots at Bliss Bay and Cahaya:

Ghost Fish (Seasonal)
The v0.4.0 Halloween update introduced five ghost fish variants that spawn exclusively at night (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM) during the Halloween season. These include the Great White Shark (Ghost), Sea Turtle (Ghost), Koi (Ghost), Ghost Bluefin Tuna, and Ghost Whale Shark. Ghost fish count as separate entries in the Collection Log from their regular counterparts, so catching both versions is required for full completion.
Farming
The Farming section tracks all crop varieties harvested by the household. Players place farming plots in Build Mode and use tools like rakes and watering cans to cultivate land. Farming plots can hold multiple crops from a single seed packet (four plants per standard plot), while tree seedlings like Banana and Mango take up an entire plot on their own.
The following crop types are available for planting and have collection entries:
Crop | Seed Type | Growth Style | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Tomato | Seeds | Standard plot (4 plants) | Multiple quality variants |
Potato | Seeds | Standard plot (4 plants) | Multiple quality variants |
Carrot | Seeds | Standard plot (4 plants) | Multiple quality variants |
Corn | Seeds | Standard plot (4 plants) | Multiple quality variants |
Sweet Potato | Seeds | Standard plot (4 plants) | Multiple quality variants |
Banana | Tree Seedling | Full plot (1 tree) | Tree takes longer to mature |
Mango | Tree Seedling | Full plot (1 tree) | Tree takes longer to mature |
Pumpkin | Seeds | Standard plot | Added in v0.4.0 Halloween update |
Each crop type has six quality variants to discover, making the total farming entries significantly larger than the number of base crop types. Growing conditions affect quality: fertilizer type and temperature influence the resulting harvest. Higher-quality fertilizer increases the chance of rarer crop variants. Omitting fertilizer entirely produces bug-free but standard-quality crops. Keeping plants properly watered and removing weeds also improves the odds of higher-quality harvests.
A notable farming secret: using a Jewel Watering Can (crafted using diamond materials) on crops may yield special gem-infused crop variants that count as separate entries in the log. This creates a crossover between the Farming and Mining collection paths.
The March 2026 update introduced six new farmable flowers along with the flower shop business. Players can grow these flowers, craft bouquets and flower baskets, and high Gardening skill levels enable flowers to gain special effects. These flower varieties may add new entries to the Farming section of the Collection Log.
Mining
The Mining section tracks every raw gemstone and mineral collected through mining. Entries are organized by mineral family (Mica, Sodalite, Crystal, and precious stones) and include location-specific gems. Upgrading pickaxe tiers progressively unlocks access to rarer gemstone entries.
Mining spots appear in most grassy, non-residential areas throughout all three worlds. The main mining locations include:
Resource | Details |
|---|---|
Xiang Park (Cahaya) | One of the best all-around mining locations |
Bliss Garden (Bliss Bay) | Good variety of mineral families |
Cahaya Farmland | Accessible mining spots near farming areas |
Harang River Park (Dowon) | Freshwater-area mining spots |
Bliss Bay School area | Contains Red Mica, Blue Sodalite, and Soul Reap Crystal |
Mining spots come in different types that determine which gems can be found:
Spot Type | Gems Available | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Regular | Common minerals, Iron, basic Mica | Most common spot type |
Silver | Sodalite family, Silver ore, Diamonds | Gem Pickaxe improves Diamond drops |
Gold | Rare crystals, precious stones | Requires higher pickaxe tiers |
Mixed | Variety from all families, Black Opal | Found in Dowon and other locations |
Underwater Sandpile | Larimar, Pearl | Cahaya and Bliss Bay beaches; requires snorkeling |
Known Gemstones
The following gemstones and minerals have been confirmed as Collection Log entries, organized by mineral family:
Mineral Family | Gemstone | Primary Location(s) |
|---|---|---|
Mica | Green Mica | Dowon only |
Mica | Red Mica | Bliss Bay (school area) |
Sodalite | Blue Sodalite Mineral | Bliss Bay (school area) |
Crystal | Soul Reap Crystal | Bliss Bay (school area) |
Precious | Turquoise Raw Stone | Multiple locations |
Precious | Opal Rough | Multiple locations |
Precious | Black Opal Raw Stone | Dowon (Harang River Park), mixed spots |
Precious | Larimar | Underwater sandpiles only |
Precious | Pearl | Cahaya beach, Bliss Bay beach, underwater sandpiles |
Precious | Diamond | Silver mining spots; Gold Pickaxe or higher |
Precious | Pink Diamond | Any high-tier spot; extremely low drop rate |
The mining section is considered one of the harder categories to complete due to gems like Pink Diamond, which has an extremely low drop rate even with a Diamond Pickaxe. Maintaining a "Feeling Concentrated" mood state (using consumables like donuts) improves rare gem discovery rates. Lucky doughnuts can sustain this mood artificially every 12 hours. The Collection Log descriptions for each undiscovered gem provide hints about which mining spot type to target.
Some gemstones are world-exclusive, meaning players must travel to specific worlds to find them. Green Mica can only be found in Dowon, while Red Mica, Blue Sodalite Mineral, and Soul Reap Crystal are concentrated in Bliss Bay's school area. Larimar and Pearl require access to underwater sandpiles through snorkeling in Cahaya or Bliss Bay.
Jewels
Separate from raw gemstones, the Jewels section tracks polished and cut jewels created at a Crafting Table. Raw gemstones from mining are refined into finished jewels through the Handiwork skill. Higher Handiwork skill levels unlock more advanced cutting techniques, producing different jewel qualities and styles that each have their own collection entries.
Completing the Jewels section requires both collecting a wide variety of raw gemstones and leveling the Handiwork skill high enough to perform all available cutting methods. Since Handiwork can only be leveled by crafting, this section rewards persistent crafting effort. Pearl is particularly notable because it requires eight total pearls for all jewelry crafting recipes.
Finished jewels can also be used as decoration materials and equipped in the Character Studio using the "Add to My Decoration Materials" interaction. This gives completed jewels a practical use beyond simply filling the collection.
Tools
The Tools section tracks the four primary gathering tools and their tier variants. Each tier of each tool type has its own Collection Log entry, so obtaining every variant is required for full completion.
Tool | Tiers | Primary Use | Acquisition |
|---|---|---|---|
Rake | Multiple material tiers | Farming: preparing and maintaining soil | Farm Store (Cahaya); Crafting Table |
Watering Can | Basic through Jewel quality | Farming: watering crops | Farm Store (Cahaya); Crafting Table |
Pickaxe | Stone, Copper, Steel, Gold, Diamond, Gem | Mining: breaking rocks and extracting gems | Farm Store (lower tiers); Crafting Table |
Fishing Rod | Wooden, Copper, Iron, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Jewel | Fishing: catching fish | Farm Store (lower tiers); Crafting Table |
The Farm Store in Cahaya sells the lower-tier tools (Stone/Copper/Steel Pickaxes and basic Fishing Rods), while higher-tier tools must be crafted at a Crafting Table using gathered materials. Crafting higher-tier tools requires leveling the Handiwork skill, which unlocks premium tool recipes progressively. For example, players must build up their Handiwork skill to unlock the premium pickaxe option, which then grants access to Gold, Diamond, and Gem variants.
The Whatever Tiny Shop in Cahaya rotates three random items daily and may occasionally stock high-tier tools, saving the crafting grind for tool collection entries. Checking this shop regularly is an efficient way to fill out tool entries without investing heavily in Handiwork skill leveling.
Info
The Info section is a unique category that collects information gathered through conversations and social interactions rather than physical item gathering. As your Zois talk with other characters, learn about the world, and uncover details, entries in the Info section fill in.
A useful interaction is "Ask about info on encyclopedia": talking to NPCs who are performing the same gathering activities as you (fishing, mining, collecting) can sometimes reveal hints for obtaining specific collection items. This interaction is available through the Thoughts conversation category when speaking with NPCs. The Info section is generally considered the most passive category to fill, as it progresses naturally through regular social gameplay.
Snorkeling and Underwater Collectibles
Several Collection Log entries require snorkeling to access underwater areas. The snorkeling system was introduced with the Island Getaway DLC and is primarily based in Cahaya. Players must purchase snorkeling equipment from the beach stand at Barat Beach (located in the middle of the Cahaya map) before diving.

Three snorkeling equipment tiers are available:
Equipment | Description |
|---|---|
Beginner Set | Basic snorkeling gear for new swimmers |
Diver Set | Improved equipment for longer dives |
Ocean Pro Set | Professional gear for deep-water exploration |
Before snorkeling, your Zoi should develop their Swimming skill by practicing in pools or the ocean. Low energy can lead to drowning, so building stamina is important. While underwater, Zois can collect items like sea urchins, shells, and stones that go directly into inventory. Some of these contribute to the Collection Log.
The most important underwater collectibles for the Mining section are Larimar and Pearl, which can only be obtained from underwater sandpiles. Pearl can also be found by digging sand piles on the beaches of Cahaya and Bliss Bay. Collected sea items can be sold at the Coin Exchange Kiosk located in the Sri Lestari Resort for resort currency, which is redeemable for resort-themed items.
Be cautious of hazards while snorkeling. Sharks and jellyfish patrol the waters and can seriously injure or even kill your Zoi. Swimming long distances drains energy and stamina, so plan dive routes carefully.
Resale Store and Selling Collected Items
While the Collection Log automatically records every item your household collects, the gathered items themselves can be sold for Meow (the in-game currency) at the Resale Store. This store accepts deliveries of crops, fish, minerals, and related items. Delivery prices fluctuate daily, so selling at the right time maximizes profit.
Items only need to be collected once for the Collection Log entry to register. After that, duplicate items can be sold freely without affecting your collection progress. This means players can turn collection farming into a reliable income source once entries are filled. Fish can also be displayed in fish tanks of the appropriate size (Small, Medium, Large, or Jumbo) as home decoration, and crops can be used in cooking recipes.
Rewards
The Collection Log is not just a tracking system. Completing sections actively rewards players:
Reward | Details |
|---|---|
Set completion rewards | filling out all entries within a specific subcategory (e.g., all freshwater fish, all mica-family gems) unlocks exclusive furniture items that cannot be obtained any other way. These are special decorative pieces for your Zoi's home. The furniture tends to be thematically tied to the completed collection: fishing-themed furniture for fish sets, crystal-themed decorations for gem sets, and so on. |
Category completion rewards | completing an entire main category (e.g., all of Fishing) unlocks additional, more significant rewards. |
Full completion bonus | filling the entire Collection Log across all categories may unlock a hidden reward. The exact nature of this reward has not been fully confirmed by the community. |
Rewards are automatically delivered to the household and can be placed through Build Mode. Because the log is family-wide, rewards benefit the entire household regardless of which Zoi earned the entries.
Tracking Across the Household
Since the Collection Log is family-wide, different household members can specialize in different gathering activities and all contribute to the same log. For example, one Zoi might focus on fishing while another concentrates on mining and a third handles gardening. All of their collected items count toward a single shared log.

This makes larger households naturally more efficient at filling the Collection Log, as they can cover more ground simultaneously. Each household member builds their own skills independently: the Zoi focused on mining develops the Collecting and Handiwork skills, while the Zoi focused on fishing develops the Fishing skill. This specialization makes each family member more effective at their chosen gathering activity over time.
Cross-World Travel Requirements
One of the biggest challenges in completing the Collection Log is that certain items are world-exclusive. Green Mica can only be found in Dowon, certain gems are concentrated in Bliss Bay, and underwater sandpiles for Larimar are primarily in Cahaya. This means players must travel between all three worlds to complete every section.
The community has noted several pain points with cross-world collection:
Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
Backpack capacity | With only 100 inventory slots, gathering trips between worlds require careful planning. |
Inventory risk | Some players have reported inventory items being deleted when moving between households, making it risky to carry valuable collected items. |
Rare item difficulty | Finding world-exclusive rare items like Orca (one player reported catching it only once across 30+ Zois) or Whale Shark compounds the travel burden. |
Lifetime limitations | Some community members note that completing the entire log within a single Zoi's lifetime is extremely challenging due to drop rates on rare items, particularly Pink Diamond and Whale Shark. |
The v0.3.5 update improved the situation somewhat by increasing the Whale Shark catch rate and expanding fishing search areas. Players have requested that all collectibles be made available in all worlds, but as of March 2026 this change has not been implemented.
Completion Strategies
Start with common entries first. Fill in the easy entries across all categories to build momentum and unlock early set rewards. Do not chase rare items immediately.
Visit all three regions. Some items are region-exclusive. Dowon has Green Mica, Cahaya has underwater sandpiles for Larimar and Pearl, and Bliss Bay has Red Mica, Blue Sodalite, and Soul Reap Crystal. Each region also has unique fishing spots.
Upgrade tools progressively. Higher-tier tools (Diamond Fishing Rod, Diamond Pickaxe, Jewel Watering Can) unlock collection entries that lower-tier tools cannot access. Build your Handiwork skill by crafting consistently to unlock premium tool recipes.
Use mood boosts for rare finds. The "Feeling Concentrated" mood state improves drop rates for rare gems like Diamond and Pink Diamond. Keep consumables like donuts on hand, as lucky doughnuts can sustain concentration artificially every 12 hours.
Fish at different times of day. Many fish species are day-only or night-only. Alternate between daytime and nighttime fishing sessions to maximize the species you can encounter.
Use Advanced Bait for rare fish. The 5 Meow cost per cast is trivial compared to the time saved when hunting for the rarest fish species at Cahaya boat spots.
Use the "Ask about info on encyclopedia" interaction. Talk to NPCs performing gathering activities through the Thoughts conversation category to fill Info section entries and get hints about undiscovered items.
Check the log regularly. The silhouette system shows exactly what is missing. Use the descriptions and hints provided for undiscovered items to guide your next gathering session.
Assign household members to specialize. Since the log is family-wide, have different Zois focus on different gathering activities. One Zoi develops high Fishing skill while another maxes out Collecting and Handiwork.
Check the Whatever Tiny Shop daily. It rotates three random items and may stock high-tier tools, saving you the crafting effort for tool collection entries.
Develop Swimming skill before snorkeling. Underwater sandpiles are the only source for Larimar and a key source for Pearl. Invest in Swimming skill early so you can safely dive when you reach Cahaya.
Grow crops with varied conditions. Use different fertilizer types and maintain different watering schedules to discover all six quality variants of each crop. The Jewel Watering Can can produce special gem-infused variants.
