Overview
The Rabbit Leather Mask is a unique leather headgear piece in Crimson Desert. Unlike most leather helms, the Rabbit Leather Mask does not provide any elemental resistance. Instead, it offers two distinctive special effects: Daze Immunity and +2 Trust Gain. This combination makes it one of the more unusual headgear options available, favoring players who prioritize NPC interaction benefits and crowd control protection over raw elemental defense.
The mask can be obtained relatively early by solving a crane puzzle in Karin Quarry, or crafted at a Blacksmith after examining the crafting manual "Leather Armors of the World Vol. II," which is found inside the Totesmith Tannery.

Special Effects | Daze Immunity, +2 Trust Gain |
The Rabbit Leather Mask stands out among leather headgear because it trades the standard Lightning Resistance bonus for two special effects. Daze Immunity prevents the stun-like daze status from affecting Kliff while the mask is equipped, which can be valuable during encounters with enemies that rely on daze attacks. The +2 Trust Gain bonus increases the trust earned from interactions with NPCs, helping players build relationships and unlock vendor inventories faster.
Abyss Gears
The Rabbit Leather Mask does not have any Abyss Gear sockets. Players who require Abyss Gear customization on their headgear should look into alternatives such as the Leather Helm of the Fallen Kingdom.
How to Obtain
Method 1: Karin Quarry Crane Puzzle
The Rabbit Leather Mask can be found in a treasure chest inside Karin Quarry. To reach the chest, players must solve the second crane puzzle located at the base of the large crane, further to the east of the Excavatron boss arena.
The puzzle requires manipulating the crane's claw mechanism. Lower the claw and wait until one side locks onto the rock slab below. Then position the other claw to fully lock the mechanism before pulling upward. Successfully raising the stone reveals a small opening that houses the treasure chest containing the Rabbit Leather Mask.
Clearing the Karin Quarry area of enemies beforehand is recommended but not strictly required to complete the puzzle.
Method 2: Crafting
The Rabbit Leather Mask can also be crafted at any Blacksmith after examining the crafting manual Leather Armors of the World Vol. II. This manual is found inside the Totesmith Tannery.

Thin Hide and Thick Hide are common hunting materials obtained by killing animals across Pywel. Both materials drop frequently from wildlife in the Hernand region and surrounding areas.
Refinement
The Rabbit Leather Mask can be refined at a Blacksmith to increase its base defense. Refinement requires Silver Coins and crafting materials, with increasing costs at higher levels. See the Refining System page for the full breakdown of costs and materials.
Combat Use and Trust Strategy
The Daze Immunity effect makes the Rabbit Leather Mask a practical choice when facing enemies or bosses that frequently use daze-inflicting attacks. Being immune to daze prevents Kliff from being temporarily stunned, which can be the difference between dodging a follow-up strike and taking heavy damage.
The +2 Trust Gain bonus is a non-combat benefit that accelerates trust building with NPCs. Trust levels unlock additional dialogue options, quests, and vendor inventory. Players who want to unlock high-trust vendor items sooner (such as late-game armor from Lola in Pailune) can equip the Rabbit Leather Mask during NPC interactions and then swap back to a combat-oriented helm when heading into dangerous areas.
Tips
Visit Karin Quarry early to pick up the Rabbit Leather Mask for free. The crane puzzle does not require any special abilities to complete.
Keep the Rabbit Leather Mask in your inventory even after upgrading to better headgear. Equipping it before speaking with NPCs lets you benefit from the +2 Trust Gain without sacrificing combat effectiveness.
The Daze Immunity is especially useful against certain Abyss bosses that rely on staggering attacks to open up damage windows.
If you prefer to craft the mask, hunt wolves and deer in Hernand for Thin Hide and Thick Hide. These animals drop both materials consistently.

Trust Gift Bonus
Players often call this the Bunny Mask, and it is one of the most valuable accessories for anyone grinding vendor trust. Wearing it adds +2 trust to every gift you hand over. A standard +5 gift becomes +7, which compounds fast across the 20+ vendors worth raising to 100 trust. Put it on specifically during gift rounds and swap it off afterward if you prefer a different look.
The mask is craftable, and a second copy is sold at Karin Quarry for players who skipped the recipe. See the NPC Trust System for gift categories by NPC type and the daily cap rules that make the +2 bonus so valuable.
Trust Gain Bonus: +2 Per Action
The Rabbit Leather Mask's headline stat for completionists is a built-in +2 trust gain on every positive interaction with NPCs. That means every daily greeting becomes +7 instead of +5, every gift is boosted by +2 on top of whatever race or profession multiplier applies, and the single +50 bump from finishing a named vendor's side quest becomes +52. The bonus is small per action but compounds significantly across a playthrough where you are chasing max trust with dozens of shopkeepers, peasants, and named NPCs across Pywel.
Where to Find it: Caren Quarry
The mask is tucked away in the Caren Quarry, north of Hernand. The route is not part of any main quest marker. Once inside the quarry, look for a movable block that can be pushed aside with one of the quarry's small cranes. The mask sits in an alcove behind that block. Nothing gates this pickup behind a story chapter, so you can grab it as soon as you reach Hernand and want to start farming trust.
Stacking with Abyss Trust Gain
Later in the game you can find abyss gears that roll a trust gain affix and a separate pet trust gain affix that only applies to pets. The Rabbit Leather Mask's +2 stacks with the abyss gear trust-gain affix, so the end-game build for anyone maxing every shopkeeper in the world is the mask plus one or more trust-gain abyss gears in slotted gear. Pet trust gain sits on a separate counter (pet interactions) and does not interact with the mask.
When the +2 Matters Most
The bonus is disproportionately valuable for the Gray Main Camp non-shop residents. Those NPCs hand over random camp supplies every time you walk past them at max trust, and the mask shortens the grind to that cap noticeably. It also speeds up the NPC Trust System cap on every dyer, shop owner, and named vendor when you are farming supply contracts and Volume IV crafting books.
