Fallen Kingdom Set
The Fallen Kingdom Set is a collection of armor pieces found across the Hernand region in Crimson Desert. The set includes a leather helm, leather body armor, leather cloak, plate gloves, and plate boots, each hidden behind puzzles, waterfalls, or secret passages. The standout piece is the Leather Helm of the Fallen Kingdom, which comes with the Momentum Abyss Gear granting +35% Turning Slash damage.
Overview
The Fallen Kingdom Set is a collection of themed armor pieces scattered throughout the Hernand region in Crimson Desert. Unlike complete sets such as the Dark Ring Leader Set, the Fallen Kingdom Set is not a matching full set in the traditional sense. Instead, it consists of several strong individual pieces that share the "Fallen Kingdom" name and a common visual theme. The pieces span different armor material types, mixing leather and plate gear, and each one is hidden behind environmental puzzles, secret passages, or waterfalls that reward thorough exploration.
All five armor pieces can be obtained for free through exploration alone, with no combat encounters, quest prerequisites, or crafting required. This makes the Fallen Kingdom Set one of the most accessible early-game armor collections in the Hernand region. The standout piece is the Leather Helm of the Fallen Kingdom, which comes pre-loaded with the Momentum Abyss Gear granting a massive +35% Turning Slash damage bonus. A bonus weapon, the Fallen Kingdom's Rapier, can also be found alongside the cloak at the Icemoor Castle Ruins.
Set Pieces
The Fallen Kingdom Set consists of five armor pieces. The following table summarizes each piece, its slot, material type, and where it can be found.
Piece | Slot | Type | Location |
|---|---|---|---|
Leather Helm of the Fallen Kingdom | Head | Leather | |
Leather Armor of the Fallen Kingdom | Body | Leather | Frozen Soul Cave (waterfall entrance) |
Leather Cloak of the Fallen Kingdom | Cloak | Leather | |
Plate Gloves of the Fallen Kingdom | Gloves | Plate | Starlight Storm Cave (waterfall entrance) |
Plate Boots of the Fallen Kingdom | Boots | Plate | Nightstorm Cave (waterfall entrance) |
In addition to the five armor pieces, the Fallen Kingdom's Rapier can be found alongside the cloak at Icemoor Castle Ruins. While it is a weapon rather than armor, it shares the Fallen Kingdom name and is often collected at the same time.
Armor Stats
The following table shows the base stats for each Fallen Kingdom armor piece before any refinement upgrades are applied.
Piece | DEF | ATK | Resistances | Abyss Gear / Special Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Leather Helm | 3 | 0 | Lightning Resistance Lv. 1 | Momentum (+35% Turning Slash Damage) |
Leather Armor | 7 | 0 | Lightning Resistance Lv. 1 | Silver Gain +10%, Stamina Regen +2%, Swim Speed +2% |
Leather Cloak | 1 | 0 | Lightning Resistance Lv. 3 | None listed |
Plate Gloves | 3 | 13 | None | Food Effect Lv. 1 (Health +0.2/sec) |
Plate Boots | 5 | 12 | None | Stamina Regen +2%, Swim Speed +2% |
Note that armor sets in Crimson Desert do not provide set bonuses when multiple pieces from the same set are equipped. Each piece functions independently, so players can freely mix Fallen Kingdom pieces with armor from other sets based on which individual stats best suit their build.
Leather Helm of the Fallen Kingdom
The Leather Helm of the Fallen Kingdom is widely considered the best piece in the set and one of the strongest early-game helmets in Crimson Desert. Its standout feature is the pre-loaded Momentum Abyss Gear, which provides a +35% damage bonus to the Turning Slash skill. This is an enormous damage multiplier for a single equipment slot, especially during boss fights where Turning Slash is used as a burst damage tool when a boss is staggered.
The helmet has a notably large and imposing visual design. It is one of the most visually distinctive headgear pieces in the game, standing out clearly even in crowded combat scenarios.
Location: Sanctum of Benediction
The Leather Helm is found inside the Sanctum of Benediction, a sanctum located in the western snowy mountains of the Hernand region, southwest of the Icemoor Castle Ruins (the location where you fight the Stag Lord Shield). On the map, the sanctum sits roughly under the letter "E" in "Hernand." Players can fast travel to the Abyss Nexus at Starlight Storm Cave and travel from there.
How to Obtain
Travel to the Sanctum of Benediction in western Hernand.
Look for a lantern outside the structure near a staircase that leads to a solid wall.
Light the lantern. This triggers a mechanism that shifts the wall, revealing a hidden entrance.
Enter the secret room and open the treasure chest inside to claim the Leather Helm of the Fallen Kingdom.
Leather Armor of the Fallen Kingdom
The Leather Armor of the Fallen Kingdom is the body armor piece of the set and provides the highest base defense value at 7 DEF. It also comes with useful utility bonuses through its Abyss Gear slots, including a +10% Silver gain bonus that helps with earning currency, a +2% Stamina regeneration boost, and a +2% Swim Speed multiplier. The combination of solid defense and economic benefits makes it a practical choice for the early to mid game.
Location: Frozen Soul Cave
The Leather Armor is found inside Frozen Soul Cave, which is accessed through a waterfall in the Hernand region. To find the cave entrance, look on the map between the letters "E" and "R" in the word "Hernand," then navigate south toward the river.
How to Obtain
Locate the waterfall entrance to Frozen Soul Cave south of central Hernand along the river.
The waterfall will push you back if you try to walk through it normally. Use the Stab armed skill to force your way through the water. This skill is unlocked by default for all three playable characters.
Follow the cave passage to its end, where you will find a treasure chest containing the Leather Armor of the Fallen Kingdom.
Leather Cloak of the Fallen Kingdom
The Leather Cloak of the Fallen Kingdom is a back-slot accessory that provides Lightning Resistance Lv. 3, making it one of the better early cloaks for elemental protection. Cloaks in Crimson Desert are primarily used for the resistances they offer rather than raw defense, and the Fallen Kingdom cloak excels in this role with its high lightning resistance value.
Location: Icemoor Castle Ruins
The Leather Cloak is located inside the Icemoor Castle Ruins in western Hernand. This is the same location where the Stag Lord Shield boss fight takes place. The cloak is hidden in a secret area behind the initial fighting arena.
How to Obtain
Travel to the Icemoor Castle Ruins in the western part of the Hernand region.
Climb to the upper levels of the ruined castle. At the top, turn right and find a staircase leading downward.
Look for a walkway or opening that you can crawl through. The entrance is blocked by wooden planks.
Break the wooden boards with a weapon attack to clear the passage.
Inside the hidden room you will find copper pouches and a treasure chest containing the Leather Cloak of the Fallen Kingdom.
Bonus: Fallen Kingdom's Rapier
While collecting the cloak, look to the left side of the treasure chest near a barrel. The Fallen Kingdom's Rapier is leaning against the barrel and can be picked up. This one-handed weapon has 17 ATK, Attack Speed Lv. 2, a Refinement level of 5, and 3 Abyss Gear slots. It sells for 20.58 Silver, making it a lucrative find even if you do not plan to use rapiers. The rapier offers fast attack animations and smooth combos, making it a strong choice for players who prefer quick, mobility-focused combat over heavy weapons. See the Unique Weapons article for more details on named weapons.
Plate Gloves of the Fallen Kingdom
The Plate Gloves of the Fallen Kingdom are a plate-type gauntlet with a unique combination of defense and attack stats. With 3 DEF and 13 ATK, these gloves contribute meaningfully to damage output alongside their defensive value. They come pre-loaded with the Food Effect Lv. 1 Abyss Gear, which provides a passive health regeneration bonus of +0.2 health per second. While this regeneration is modest, the continuous healing adds up over extended exploration sessions and gives a noticeable survivability edge in the early game. The gloves can also be refined at a blacksmith to increase their stats further.
Location: Starlight Storm Cave
The Plate Gloves are found inside Starlight Storm Cave, located west of Hernand Castle. The cave entrance is hidden behind a large waterfall along the western side of the river near Hernand.
How to Obtain
Travel to the large waterfall west of Hernand Castle on the western side of the river.
The waterfall blocks normal entry. Use the Stab armed skill to force your way through the falling water. This skill is available by default for all three playable characters.
Once inside the cave, follow the passage to find the treasure chest containing the Plate Gloves of the Fallen Kingdom.
Plate Boots of the Fallen Kingdom
The Plate Boots of the Fallen Kingdom are plate-type footwear with 5 DEF and 12 ATK, giving them a strong combination of defense and offensive contribution. Like the leather armor, the boots feature Stamina Regen +2% and Swim Speed +2% bonuses, supporting sustained exploration and water traversal. A stone cairn (cross-shaped marker) near the entrance to the cave serves as a visual indicator that treasure is nearby.
Location: Nightstorm Cave
The Plate Boots are found inside Nightstorm Cave, accessed through a waterfall in the northern part of Hernand near a lake with several waterfalls.
How to Obtain
Travel north from Hernand toward the lake area with several waterfalls.
Look for a stone cross-shaped marker (cairn) inside one of the waterfall alcoves. This marks the entrance to the secret cave.
Use the Stab armed skill to break through the waterfall and enter the cave.
Open the treasure chest inside to claim the Plate Boots of the Fallen Kingdom.
Exploration Tips
Waterfall technique: Three of the five pieces (armor, gloves, and boots) are hidden behind waterfalls. You cannot walk through waterfalls normally because the water pushes you back. Instead, use the Stab armed skill to force through the water wall. This skill is unlocked by default for all three playable characters.
No combat required: None of the Fallen Kingdom armor pieces require defeating enemies to obtain. They are all found in treasure chests accessible purely through exploration and environmental puzzle-solving.
Early game priority: The Leather Helm should be your first target because the Momentum Abyss Gear (+35% Turning Slash damage) provides an outsized combat advantage. Turning Slash deals heavy burst damage when used on staggered bosses, and the 35% bonus makes it significantly more powerful.
Refinement: All Fallen Kingdom pieces can be upgraded through the refinement system at a blacksmith. The Plate Boots and Plate Gloves in particular benefit from refinement due to their dual ATK and DEF stats.
Sell value: If you find better gear and want to sell Fallen Kingdom pieces, the Plate Boots sell for approximately 6.28 Silver. The Fallen Kingdom's Rapier found alongside the cloak sells for 20.58 Silver, making it especially valuable even as a sell-only pickup.
Mix and match: Since there is no set bonus for wearing multiple Fallen Kingdom pieces, feel free to replace individual pieces as you find stronger alternatives. The Leather Helm with its Momentum Abyss Gear tends to remain useful the longest.
Comparison with Other Early Armor
The Fallen Kingdom Set competes with several other early-game armor options in the Hernand region. The Dark Ring Leader Set is a full matching set that provides a more cohesive visual look, but it requires more effort to collect. The Frostcursed Set offers higher raw defense values at the cost of more difficult acquisition. The Shadow Set provides strong stealth-oriented bonuses.
Set | Strengths | Accessibility |
|---|---|---|
Fallen Kingdom | Momentum Abyss Gear (+35% Turning Slash), mixed utility bonuses, free acquisition | Very Easy (no combat required) |
Dark Ring Leader | Full matching set, cohesive visual theme (see Dark Ring Leader Set) | Moderate |
Frostcursed | High raw defense, ice-themed bonuses | Moderate to Difficult |
Shadow | Stealth bonuses, dark visual aesthetic | Moderate |
Fallen Kingdom's Rapier Stats
The Fallen Kingdom's Rapier is found alongside the Leather Cloak at Icemoor Castle Ruins. While not an armor piece, it is closely associated with the Fallen Kingdom set and is typically collected at the same time.
Stat | Value |
|---|---|
Type | One-Handed Weapon (Rapier) |
Attack | 17 |
Attack Speed | Lv. 2 |
Refinement | 5/10 |
Abyss Gear Slots | 3 |
Sell Price | 20.58 Silver |
The rapier is a non-unique weapon, meaning similar rapiers can occasionally appear as randomized world loot across Pywel. However, the guaranteed spawn at Icemoor Castle Ruins makes it a reliable early pickup. Its fast attack speed and 3 Abyss Gear slots allow for considerable customization, and its high sell price of 20.58 Silver makes it worthwhile to grab even for players who prefer heavier weapon types.
Trivia
The Fallen Kingdom in the set's name refers to the ancient kingdom whose ruins dot the Hernand landscape. The Icemoor Castle Ruins, Sanctum of Benediction, and various caves all contain remnants of this civilization.
The Leather Helm of the Fallen Kingdom has one of the most visually distinctive designs in the game. Players have noted its large, imposing silhouette, which makes Kliff's character model look noticeably different from other headgear options.
The rapier found alongside the cloak is labeled "Fallen Kingdom's Rapier" in the inventory, while the YouTube source material refers to it as the "Rapier for Damian." Both names refer to the same weapon.
The Plate Gloves and Plate Boots are the only plate-type pieces in the set. The remaining three pieces (helm, armor, cloak) are all leather, creating an unusual mix of material types within a single themed collection.
