Overview

The Broom is a tool in Crimson Desert used for sweeping floors and clearing dust or fallen leaves. It is made by bundling stiff twigs or bristles together and is one of the more common utility items available to players. Despite being a simple cleaning implement, the Broom has the highest base Attack value of any tool at 10, making it the best improvised weapon among the tool category.

How to Obtain
The Broom can be purchased from Provisioner vendors in towns across Pywel. The vendor in Hernand is the earliest accessible shop where players can buy one.
Usage
The Broom's primary function is sweeping and tidying. It is used to clear dust, fallen leaves, and other debris from floors and outdoor areas. In practical terms, the Broom falls under the category of farming and maintenance tools that support the game's life skill systems.
To equip the Broom, open the Equipment Wheel by holding D-Pad Left on a controller or pressing F3 on PC. Only one tool can be active at a time, so you will need to swap back to your main weapon before entering combat.
Refinement
The Broom can be refined at any Smithy across Pywel. Refinement improves the tool's effectiveness, and there are 10 refinement levels available. Speak to a blacksmith and select the Broom from your tool inventory to begin the upgrade process. Refinement requires materials like ore and copper coins.
Combat Notes
With an Attack value of 10, the Broom is technically the strongest improvised weapon among all tools. That said, it still deals far less damage than any dedicated weapon, so using it in a real fight is only practical as a last resort. Sheathe your weapon before switching to the Broom through the Equipment Wheel.
Patch 1.04 Changes
Patch 1.04 expanded the broom family by introducing a new variant called the Sturdy Broom. The update frames this addition as a practical upgrade for cleaning, describing it as a sturdier tool for everyday cleaning needs. The regular Broom remains in the game with its existing stats, sell price, and refinement options; the Sturdy Broom is a separate tool that sits alongside it rather than replacing it.
The Sturdy Broom was added as a new tool exclusively for Kliff, bundled with the same Patch 1.04 wave of new gatherable weapons for him. The exact acquisition method is not spelled out in the patch notes themselves, and this article will be updated as soon as the in-game source is confirmed. What is known is that it is categorized as a tool (not a weapon), so it shares the utility role of the regular Broom rather than fitting into the dedicated weapon slots.
Variant status: new in Patch 1.04. This is the first broom-type tool variant added to Crimson Desert since launch.
Character: added for Kliff specifically. Companion characters did not receive broom variants in this patch.
Role: a cleaning and utility tool, consistent with the description given in the patch preview of a sturdy broom suitable for all cleaning needs. The Sturdy Broom is not listed among the new one-handed weapons introduced in the same patch.
Relationship to the base Broom: the original Broom described in the sections above is unchanged. Refinement rules, provisioner vendors, and the Equipment Wheel still apply to it in exactly the same way. The Sturdy Broom is a separate entry in the tool category.
For the full list of changes shipped in version 1.04 and links to every new tool, weapon, pet, and storage container added in the same update, see the Patch Notes article. This Broom page will be updated with the Sturdy Broom's stats, refinement cost, and acquisition path once those details are verified in-game.
