Quagmire Powder is a Cursed Swamps resource in Windrose, dropped from Plague enemies including Plague Witches, Plague Hunters, Plague Warriors, and Plague Thralls. It is a required ingredient for Mire Metal Ingot smelting at the Large Smelting Furnace (2 Ancient Scraps + 1 Quagmire Powder = 1 Mire Metal Ingot). Quagmire Powder is also found in chests at Cursed Swamps Points of Interest.

Farming Strategy
Plague Witches are the most efficient single source; they drop 1-2 Quagmire Powder per kill and are easier than Plague Hunters
Plan a multi-target route: hit Witches first, then Hunters and Warriors, then Crocodiles for Tainted Bile, all in one Cursed Swamps trip
Drop a Fast Travel Bell at the swamp entry so you can warp out for resupply and back
Stockpile Ancient Scraps in parallel; you need 2 Ancient Scraps per Mire Metal Ingot
A typical farming run yields 10-20 Quagmire Powder per session, enough for 10-20 Mire Metal Ingot
Production Position
Quagmire Powder is the gating resource for Mire Metal Ingot, which in turn gates everything in the late game: the Enchanting Table build (3 Mire Metal Ingot), the Bellows Weaponsmith upgrade (20 Mire Metal Ingot + 15 Crocodile Hide + 5 Hewn Stone), the Distiller Alchemy upgrade (5 Mire Metal Ingot + 5 Wood + 2 Crocodile Hide), and Ingot Arborum (1 Mire Metal Ingot per craft). Without a steady Quagmire Powder supply, late-game progression stalls.
Lore
Quagmire Powder is the supernatural residue left behind when Plague enemies are defeated, a fine grey-green dust with both alchemical and metallurgical applications. The fact that Plague enemies drop a constructive crafting material reflects Windrose's broader theme: the player turns the swamps' corruption into the means of progressing through it.
