Plague Witches are spellcasting Plague enemies in Windrose's Cursed Swamps biome. They cast plague hexes from range, summon Plague Thralls as combat support, and drop Quagmire Powder, a critical Mire Metal Ingot component. Plague Witches are a high-priority target during Cursed Swamps farming because Quagmire Powder is one of the bottleneck resources for Mire Metal smelting.

Drops
Where to Find Plague Witches
Deep Cursed Swamps; specifically near plague-corrupted shrines and ruins
Cursed Swamps Ancient Ruins; sometimes act as boss-tier guardians
Around the High Priestess's domain; Witches act as her acolytes and frequent encounters before the boss fight
Hunting Strategy
Open with a ranged shot (musket or pistol) to interrupt any spell cast in progress
Close distance quickly to prevent the witch from teleporting and re-engaging from a new angle
Use Pierce damage weapons; the witch lacks armor and falls quickly to a focused rapier or musket build
Kill any summoned Plague Thralls first if they reach you; the witch is the priority but cannot threaten you alone
Stockpile Quagmire Powder; you need 5+ per Mire Metal Ingot run, so each kill is meaningful
Bring Pain Relief Elixir to counter the plague DoT compounding
Lore
Plague Witches are human (or formerly human) spellcasters who pacted with the same supernatural forces driving the Cursed Swamps' corruption. Whether they served the High Priestess directly, made independent pacts with the same dark powers Blackbeard used, or were once Brethren of the Coast magicians who fell to corruption, is part of the swamp's unfolding mystery. Their role as both combatants and Plague Thrall summoners suggests they are middle-tier servants of whatever older intelligence is orchestrating the broader plague.
