Plague Warriors are heavy-melee Plague enemies in Windrose's Cursed Swamps biome. Armored in plague-corrupted plate and wielding two-handed weapons (greatswords, halberds, plague maces), they hit hard and absorb significant punishment. Plague Warriors often act as bodyguards for Plague Witches and as gate guards at plague-corrupted Ancient Ruins. They drop Quagmire Powder, a critical Mire Metal Ingot component.
Plague Warriors are heavy-melee plague enemies armored in plague-corrupted plate and wielding two-handed weapons. They hit hard, absorb significant punishment, and often act as bodyguards for Plague Witches or gate guards at plague-corrupted Ancient Ruins. Their melee swing is recorded at 215 Slash with 0 armor penetration, so a Warrior's threat is its raw hit size and reach rather than any ability to bypass your defenses. They carry the Human and Undead traits, which means anti-Undead damage and effects apply on top of normal anti-personnel damage.
The whole biome works against you while you fight them. The Cursed Swamps carry the Wood Plague, a constant environmental drain on health, so any prolonged Warrior duel is also a race against ambient damage. Clearing or disengaging quickly matters more here than in open-water camps.
Drops
Plague Warriors drop Quagmire Powder, the component you smelt with Ancient Scraps at a Large Smelting Furnace to make Mire Metal Ingots, the gateway to weapon upgrades and enchanting. Warriors are not a guaranteed Quagmire Powder source the way the lighter plague enemies are, but they double as the guards on the Ancient Ruins and Ancient Debris that yield the matching Ancient Scraps, so killing a Warrior usually clears the way to both halves of the recipe at once. The confirmed loot table below also lists temple goods that sell well at faction provisioners.
Use Pierce damage weapons; their plate armor heavily resists Slash and Crude
The Reliable Musket and Reliable Pistol are particularly effective; 1-2 musket shots followed by melee finisher works well
Never stand still adjacent; the plague aura DoT compounds with melee strike DoT, and the biome's Wood Plague drain is ticking the whole time
Use the long windup of overhead and ground-slam attacks to land 2-3 hits between their attacks
Bring Healing Potion (Great) and Pain Relief Elixir; Warriors can punish a single missed dodge severely
Co-op makes Warrior fights significantly easier; one player tanks while another flanks to the rear
