Overview
The Shining Star Outfit Set is a free cosmetic downloadable content pack for Starsand Island, distributed to all players as compensation following the April 9, 2026 Steam delisting of the game. It was announced on April 10, 2026 in the "Important Announcement: Game Content Adjustment" post on the official @IslandStarsand account alongside the public apology for the unauthorized visual content used in the game's arcade mini-game. The outfit set is the first free cosmetic DLC in Starsand Island's Early Access period.
Seed Sparkle Lab targeted delivery of the Shining Star Outfit Set within roughly seven business days of the announcement, placing the expected release on or around April 20, 2026. Every player who owns Starsand Island on either Steam or Xbox Series X|S receives the set automatically once the distribution build goes live, with no code redemption required.
Why It Was Given Out
The Shining Star Outfit Set was created as a goodwill gesture after the developer temporarily removed the Starsand Island Steam store page on April 9, 2026. The removal followed the discovery that a planning-phase oversight had resulted in core visual elements from a classic title being used without proper authorization inside the arcade mini-game. Seed Sparkle Lab apologized, submitted a corrected build to Steam for re-review, preserved all existing save data, and promised the outfit set to every player as an acknowledgement of the disruption.
The set is a standalone cosmetic reward and is not tied to any Early Access tier, Kickstarter pledge, or Deluxe Edition content. It is distributed independently of any active redeem codes or seasonal events. For the full context, see the April 2026 Delisting article and the Update History entry for the Content Adjustment Announcement.
How to Claim
Distribution is automatic once the compensation build is live. No redeem code is used and no purchase is required. The expected steps, based on previous DLC rollouts, are:
Update Starsand Island to the latest patch on your platform (Steam once the store page relists, or Xbox Series X|S / Xbox Game Pass).
Launch the game and load your save as normal.
Visit the Self-Service Terminal inside the Community Center in Starsand Town. This is the same terminal used to claim Deluxe Edition content and Kickstarter rewards.
Claim the Shining Star Outfit Set from the terminal's DLC list. Items are deposited directly into your inventory or wardrobe.
Equip the pieces via the wardrobe or mirror interface. Individual pieces can be mixed and matched with other clothing and outfits.
Players who start a new save after the distribution build goes live will still have the set available through the Self-Service Terminal from the first visit to the Community Center.
Availability
Distribution is permanent rather than time-limited. The Shining Star Outfit Set remains claimable for all current and future owners of Starsand Island once the compensation build ships, and it transfers across all supported platforms (Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and the future Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 releases at full 1.0 launch). There is no expiration date, no tiered reward gate, and no real-money cost.

Notes
The exact piece list (top, bottom, footwear, hair accessory, etc.) was not itemized in the April 10 announcement and will be confirmed on patch release. Expect a full breakdown to be added here as soon as the set goes live.
The set is cosmetic only. It grants no stat boosts, no crafting utility, and no friendship or affection bonuses. It functions the same way as other cosmetic outfit sets in the game.
Players on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass retained continuous access to the game throughout the Steam delisting window and receive the outfit set on the same distribution build.
If the set does not appear in the Self-Service Terminal after updating, verify game files, restart the title, and check the Community Center terminal again on the next in-game day. The terminal is refreshed on load.
