Tatsugiri

Overview

Tatsugiri is a Dragon/Water-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Mimicry Pokemon (Dex #145). It is an extremely cunning creature that feigns weakness to lure in prey, then orders its partner to attack. Tatsugiri comes in three distinct forms: Curly Form, Droopy Form, and Stretchy Form. All three forms share the same Dex number and are found at the same habitat, but each has a unique appearance and slightly different flavor preferences. Tatsugiri carries the Trade specialty across all forms.

Forms

Tatsugiri has three visual forms in Pokemon Pokopia. Each form has a different Pokedex description and minor differences in favorite items and flavors.

Curly Form

"Tatsugiri is an extremely cunning Pokemon. It feigns weakness to lure in prey, then orders its partner to attack."

Droopy Form

"This Pokemon tricks its opponents by playing dead. It is small and weak, but it uses its smarts to survive."

Stretchy Form

"It's one of the most intelligent dragon Pokemon. It camouflages itself by inflating its throat sac."

Habitat

All three Tatsugiri forms are found at the Beach Set habitat (#071).

Beach Set (#071)

The Beach Set is a seaside habitat located near water. All three Tatsugiri forms appear here as Rare visitors. Because they are Rare, it may take several visits before any form shows up, and you have no control over which form appears.

Tatsugiri is available during all times of day (Dawn, Day, Dusk, Night) and in all weather conditions (Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy).

How to Befriend

Build the Beach Set habitat by placing the required beach-themed furniture items near each other in a coastal area. Wait for Tatsugiri to appear as a Rare visitor. The form that spawns is random, so you may need to wait and revisit the habitat multiple times to collect all three forms.

Specialty: Trade

All three Tatsugiri forms carry the Trade specialty. Pokemon with Trade can exchange items with the player at a cash register. When a cash register is placed near Tatsugiri's habitat, it will staff the register and offer item trades. This makes any form of Tatsugiri useful for setting up shop areas near the beach.

Preferences

All three forms share the same ideal environment and rarity. Their favorite items overlap significantly, with minor differences noted in the Forms section above.

Decorate Tatsugiri's habitat with water-themed, oceanic furniture and items related to group activities. Each form has a different favorite flavor: Curly prefers sour, Droopy prefers sweet, and Stretchy prefers spicy.

Related Pokemon

Tatsugiri does not evolve from or into any other Pokemon. It is a standalone species in both the main series and in Pokopia. Other Water-type and Dragon-type Pokemon that share similar humid habitat preferences include Magikarp, Gyarados, Squirtle, and Lapras.

Tips

• Tatsugiri is one of the few Pokemon in Pokopia that has multiple visual forms. Collecting all three (Curly, Droopy, Stretchy) is a completionist goal.

• All forms share the same Beach Set habitat, so you only need to build one habitat to encounter all three. The form that spawns is random each time.

• Because Tatsugiri is a Rare visitor, consider building the Beach Set in a location you pass by frequently so you can check for its appearance regularly.

• Tatsugiri's Trade specialty pairs well with beach-themed shop areas. Place a cash register near the Beach Set to take advantage of its trading ability.
