Overview
inZOI features multiple cities that Zois can live in, visit, and travel between. As of early 2026, three cities are available, with five more planned for future updates. Each city has a distinct setting, climate, and set of activities. Traveling between cities takes different forms depending on whether the Zoi is relocating permanently or visiting temporarily.
Inter-city travel was introduced with the August 2025 Island Getaway update (v0.3.0), which added Cahaya and the initial travel system. The December 2025 update expanded the feature further, allowing permanent relocation between all available cities through the computer. Players can now use a computer, their smartphone, the airport shuttle, or a seaplane to move between cities.
Available Cities
City | Inspiration | Climate | Key Feature |
|---|---|---|---|
Seoul, South Korea | 4 seasons | Underground subway system, urban density | |
Santa Monica, USA | Warm year-round | Coastal living, beaches, amusement park | |
Indonesian/Southeast Asian resorts | Tropical year-round | Farming, mining, resort, boats |

Dowon is the default starting city for new games. Bliss Bay became available at Early Access launch in March 2025. Cahaya was added with the free Island Getaway DLC in August 2025.
Upcoming Cities
Five additional cities are planned for future updates:
City Name | Status |

Recalleta | Announced, no release date |
Details about these cities are limited. They were revealed on the inZOI global map but have not yet received gameplay previews or confirmed themes.
How to Travel Between Cities
There are several ways to initiate inter-city travel in inZOI. All methods lead to the same travel confirmation screen, where you select your destination, choose which household members will travel with you, and confirm the move through a passport checklist.
Computer Method
The primary method is through any in-game computer. Have your Zoi interact with a computer and select "Learn how to reach another city." This opens a series of tutorial slides explaining the rules of inter-city travel, followed by the destination selection screen. The computer method is required for permanent relocation and is available in any home or community lot with a computer.
Smartphone Method
Zois can also initiate travel through their smartphone. Open the phone by tapping the smartphone icon at the bottom of the screen, then select the option to travel to another city. This works the same way as the computer method and brings up the same destination and household selection screens.
Airport Shuttle and Seaplane
Two additional travel options are available: the airport shuttle (ground transportation to the departure point) and the seaplane (an air travel alternative). Both serve as thematic entry points for inter-city travel. The seaplane is especially fitting for trips to Cahaya, given the island setting. Regardless of the method chosen, the actual transit between cities happens through a loading screen transition.
Travel Costs
The financial requirements for inter-city travel depend on whether the trip is a permanent relocation or a temporary vacation.
Travel Type | Minimum Funds Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Permanent relocation | 5,000 Meow | Must have at least 5,000 Meow in household funds to initiate the move |
Vacation (Cahaya resort) | Villa nightly rate | Rates range from 1,800 to 2,500 Meow per night depending on the villa |
Deserted Island stay | Free | Cardboard beds and campfire; no booking cost |
For permanent relocation, the 5,000 Meow minimum ensures the household can afford initial housing expenses at the destination. The cost is deducted from your household funds. It is recommended to save at least 7,000 to 8,000 Meow before relocating so you have a financial cushion for purchasing or renting a new home and covering early living expenses in the new city.
Permanent Relocation
Since the December 2025 update, Zois can permanently move from one city to another. The process works as follows:
Have your Zoi use a computer and select "Learn how to reach another city."
Read through the tutorial slides that explain the rules of moving.
Choose the destination city from the available options.
Select which household members will travel with you. You can bring the entire household or leave some members behind.
Review the passport checklist. Confirm all checkboxes to finalize the move.
The household is transported to the new city through a loading screen.
Relocation is a one-way move. The Zoi's home in the original city is vacated, and they must find new housing in the destination city. Before the move, you will be given the option to store or sell your furniture. Stored furniture travels with you and can be placed in your new home. Sold furniture is converted to Meow, which adds to your available funds for the move.
Household funds transfer with the family, minus the 5,000 Meow relocation cost. There is no guarantee that your old home will remain available if you decide to move back later; you will need to find and purchase new housing in the original city.
Vacation System (Cahaya)
The Island Getaway DLC introduced a vacation system for visiting Cahaya. Instead of permanently relocating, Zois can take a temporary trip to the island and stay at the Sri Lestari Resort. This lets you experience all of Cahaya's activities without giving up your home in Dowon or Bliss Bay.

Booking a Stay
To book a vacation, travel to Cahaya using any of the travel methods described above. Once you arrive on the Resort Island, head to the Sri Lestari Resort building at the center of the resort grounds. Use the kiosk at the front desk to check into one of the available holiday rentals. Bookings are available for 1, 2, or 3 nights, with the total cost scaling accordingly.
Resort Villa Options
The Sri Lestari Resort offers several villa types at different price points:
Villa Type | Capacity | Nightly Rate (Meow) | Features |
|---|---|---|---|
Private Water Villa (Room 403) | 1 double bed | 1,800 | Overwater bungalow, romantic setting |
Garden Villa (Room 108) | 1 bedroom | 2,000 | Garden surroundings, cozy layout |
Garden Villa (Room 115) | 3 beds | 2,000 | Family-friendly, larger floor plan |
Premier Ocean View (Room 201) | 2 bedrooms, pool | 2,500 | Private pool, ocean views |
Premier Ocean View (Room 302) | 4 bedrooms, pool | 2,500 | Largest option, private pool |
For budget-conscious players, the Deserted Island between the main island and Resort Island offers free lodging with cardboard beds and a campfire. This is a survival-focused alternative with no booking cost, though it lacks the comfort and amenities of the resort villas.
During the Vacation
While on vacation in Cahaya, Zois can enjoy all of the island's activities, including farming, mining, fishing, snorkeling, spa visits at the resort, boat rentals for exploring the surrounding waters, and visiting the Cat Temple. The resort island also features lucky draws and turtle races for entertainment. When the booked stay expires, the vacation ends and the Zoi returns to their home city.
What Happens to the Household and Old City
When a Zoi or household travels to another city, several important changes take effect in the original city:
Time freezes in the old neighborhood. As long as the traveling household is the active one, no time passes in the city they left. Neighbors do not age, go to work, or change their routines.
Relationships are put on hold. Connections with Zois in the old city are frozen, not deleted. You will not be able to contact them or see their relationship status during the trip. When you return, relationships resume exactly where they left off.
The old home is vacated (permanent relocation only). If you permanently relocate, the home is released and may be occupied by another household. It is not reserved for your return.
Household members can be split. You can choose to bring only some household members with you, leaving others behind in the original city.
When you return from a vacation or move back to the original city, your neighbors will be exactly as you left them, though your traveling Zois may be several in-game days or weeks older depending on how long the trip lasted.
Property Management Across Cities
inZOI does not currently support owning property in multiple cities simultaneously. When you permanently relocate, you must vacate your current home and find new housing at the destination. The furniture storage option allows you to bring belongings to the new city, but the home itself is not retained.
For vacations, your home in the original city remains yours. Since time is frozen in the old neighborhood during your trip, the property stays exactly as you left it. No bills accumulate and no maintenance issues arise while you are away.
Fast Travel Within Cities
Each city has its own internal transportation system for getting around once you arrive:
Method | City | Description |
|---|---|---|
Underground train with multiple stations. Select "Go Here" on the map and the Zoi routes through the nearest station automatically. | ||
Public bus | Bus stops throughout the city. Functions the same as the subway with instant transit between stops. | |
Water taxi and boats | Yellow water taxis at docks for instant inter-island transit. Six boat types available for personal rental. | |
All cities | Requires car ownership. Select "Drive Here" on the map. Can be sped up to 3x to skip the drive. | |
All cities | Purchased through the phone. Faster than walking but slower than driving. Supports one or two riders. | |
Walking | All cities | Default movement. Can be fast-forwarded up to 3x speed. |
Restrictions and Warnings
Warning | Details |
|---|---|
Save file caution | Do not play a new family in the old neighborhood on the same save file while a Zoi is traveling. Doing so can erase the traveling Zoi's history and relationships in that neighborhood. |
Relocation cost | The 5,000 Meow minimum is significant in the early game. Budget accordingly and avoid relocating before your household has a financial cushion. |
No return guarantee | Permanent relocation does not reserve your old home. Moving back later requires finding and purchasing new housing. |
Cahaya requires DLC | The city of Cahaya is only accessible with the free Island Getaway DLC installed from Steam. |
Cannot contact old neighbors | While traveling, you cannot call, text, or interact with Zois from the old city. Focus on building new connections at your destination. |
Tips
Use the vacation system to try out Cahaya before committing to a permanent move. A 1-night stay at the cheapest villa costs only 1,800 Meow.
Save at least 7,000 to 8,000 Meow before permanently relocating so you have money left over for housing and initial expenses in the new city.
Choose to store your furniture rather than sell it if you plan to furnish your new home with existing items. Selling is better if you want maximum Meow for the move.
The Dowon subway is the fastest way to get around any city in the game. If your Zoi works in Dowon, live near a station to cut commute time.
When vacationing in Cahaya, check into the resort early so you have maximum time for farming, mining, and resort activities.
The Deserted Island in Cahaya offers free lodging if you want to save Meow during your vacation. It has basic survival amenities but no resort comforts.
Before relocating, wrap up any important tasks or social interactions in your current city. Relationships freeze during travel and you cannot contact old neighbors until you return.
If you value a specific Zoi family's history, always use a separate save slot before making a major move. This protects against accidental data loss if you play other families on the same save.
