Overview
The Deserted Island is the third and smallest of Cahaya's three islands, introduced as part of the free Island Getaway DLC (v0.3.0, August 2025). It sits between the Cahaya Main Island and the Sri Lestari Resort. Unlike the other two developed islands, the Deserted Island is wild and uninhabited, with no permanent structures beyond basic survival amenities. It serves as the primary destination for high-quality mining, resource gathering, and off-the-grid exploration.
Getting There
There are three ways to reach the Deserted Island from the Cahaya mainland:
Method | Cost | Details |
|---|---|---|
Boat rental | Varies by boat type | Rent at blue ticket booths on Cahaya docks. Manual steering required. Six boat types available. |
Water taxi | Fixed fare | Instant fast travel between all three islands. Available at dock ticket booths. |
Swimming | Free | Swim from the mainland beach. Requires adequate Swimming skill. Takes longer and carries risks from marine life. |
Weather conditions can affect boat travel. Storms and rough seas may prevent boat rentals, so check the weather before planning a trip. The water taxi functions like other public transport in the game and provides the most reliable access.
Island Features
The Deserted Island has no shops, homes, or civic buildings. Instead, it provides basic survival amenities and rich natural resources:
Campfire for cooking caught fish and gathered food
Cardboard beds for resting between activities (basic comfort only)
Mining spots scattered across the island with higher-quality deposits than the mainland
Fishing spots along the shoreline and off rocks
Beachcombing areas where items and resources wash ashore
Mining
The Deserted Island is known for having some of the best mining spots in Cahaya. The rocky terrain contains deposits of minerals and gemstones that can be extracted with a pickaxe. Mining spots appear as rocky patches and shiny spots on the ground.
To mine, interact with a mining spot and choose "Mine with Tools". Successful mining yields rocks, gemstones, or raw minerals. The quality of finds depends on your pickaxe tier and some luck:
Pickaxe | How to Get | Find Quality |
|---|---|---|
Stone | Purchase from Cahaya Farm Store or craft | Basic minerals |
Copper | Craft at Crafting Table | Uncommon minerals |
Steel | Craft at Crafting Table | Rare gems and minerals |
Mined resources can be refined into polished jewels at a Crafting Table, used to craft upgraded tools, or sold through the Pocket Market for Meow.
Fishing
The waters around the Deserted Island are excellent for fishing. Players need a fishing rod, which can be purchased from the Farm Store, found on the island, or crafted at a Crafting Table. Cast your line from the shoreline, off rocks, or from the back of a rented boat anchored near the island.
Fish caught on the Deserted Island can be cooked immediately at the campfire for a meal, stored in inventory, or sold back on the mainland.
Crafting
Resources gathered on the Deserted Island can be processed at a Crafting Table (available via Build Mode or found at certain locations). Crafting uses include:
Tool upgrades: combine mined materials to create better pickaxes and fishing rods (copper, steel, and higher tiers)
Gem polishing: refine raw gemstones into polished jewels for higher sale value
Jewelry crafting: create wearable accessories from polished gems
Beachcombing
Items periodically wash ashore on the Deserted Island's beaches. Keep an eye on the shoreline for driftwood, shells, and other collectible resources. These items can be picked up and added to your inventory for crafting or selling.
Survival Gameplay
The Deserted Island offers a stripped-down survival experience compared to city life. There are no restaurants, shops, or comfortable beds. Zois visiting the island rely on:
The campfire to cook fish and stay warm
The cardboard beds for basic rest (lower comfort than home furniture)
Gathered and fished food for hunger needs
Swimming back to the mainland or taking a boat when needs get too low
Plan trips carefully. Bring your Zoi with high needs levels before departing, since there are no proper facilities on the island to fully restore energy, hygiene, or comfort.
Nearby Waters
The ocean between the Deserted Island and the other Cahaya islands contains marine life and underwater features. Zois with sufficient Swimming skill can dive to explore the seafloor. Diving gear can be rented from the mainland:
Gear | Cost | Use |
|---|---|---|
Beginner diving gear | 800 Meow | Shallow diving near reefs |
Professional diving gear | 1,500 Meow | Deeper exploration |
The surrounding waters feature coral reefs, marine wildlife including sharks and jellyfish in deeper zones, and submerged structures on the seafloor.
Tips
Visit with a high-tier pickaxe to maximize your rare mineral finds
Bring a fishing rod or craft one on the island for a reliable food source
Use the water taxi for fast, reliable transport; boat rentals require manual steering and are weather-dependent
Items wash ashore periodically, so check the beaches during extended stays
The Deserted Island makes a great day trip: mine, fish, and craft, then return to the mainland before your Zoi's needs drop too low
After natural disasters, the Deserted Island may have unique items or treasures to discover
