Overview
The Travel System covers structured travel and immigration between the game's cities. It was announced as part of the July 2026 update in the 2026 Roadmap Part 1 letter published on December 26, 2025, and has arrived in two halves. The vacation half of that plan shipped in the v0.10.0 update on September 3, 2026, described in the section below. Structured immigration between cities remains separate and has not shipped as of September 5, 2026 (live build v0.10.1).
The Travel System will let players move households across Dowon, Bliss Bay, and Cahaya. This expands the existing inter-city movement (which currently uses smartphone flight booking for individual visits) into a full immigration framework where Zois can permanently relocate between cities.
Confirmed Components
Component | Description |
|---|---|
Immigration Between Cities | Households can relocate from Dowon to Bliss Bay or Cahaya, or any other combination, as a permanent move rather than a temporary visit. |
Cahaya Resort Expansion | The July update bundles enhanced Cahaya resort content and additional activities alongside the travel system. |
Family Tree Continuity | Family tree and cross-city connection fixes accompany the travel system to ensure household continuity is preserved when relocating between cities. |
Cross-City Relationships | Relationships between Zois in different cities will persist after a move. NPCs left behind will remain part of the relocated Zoi's social network. |
Existing Travel Mechanics
Before the full Travel System ships, several existing mechanics already let Zois move between cities:
Travel Between Cities covers the smartphone flight booking system that lets a Zoi visit another city for tourism or work.
Moving and Households covers the household relocation mechanics that already work within a city.
Edit City lets players relocate to other lots within the same city using the M key shortcut.
Connection to the July 2026 Update
The July 2026 update bundles the Travel System with two related features:
Prison System: Full prison facilities including yard, library, workshop for laundry and sewing, lounge, cafeteria, shower area, and visitation room. See Prison and Jail for the existing arrest and jail mechanics.
Cahaya Resort Expansion: Additional content and activities for the Cahaya resort island. New activities are not yet itemised publicly.
The July window did not hold. The June 2026 update shipped the High School content, and the July 3, 2026 development update moved the next major update to late August 2026 under the fundamentals-first initiative. The July developer letters focused on travel, autonomy, and stability, and did not reconfirm the prison bundling.

Late July 2026 Design Details
The July 31, 2026 developer letter described how the reworked system should feel: actual travel rather than relocation. The team is preparing accommodations, events throughout the cities, and places to visit. Accommodations will first support stays by both players and NPCs; the business system is later planned to provide the UI and features for building and operating player-owned accommodations with configurable guest rooms.
Vacations in v0.10.0 (September 3, 2026)
Zois can take a vacation to a different city. Booking covers who travels along, which accommodation the party stays in, and how long the stay lasts.
On check-in, door permission for the room is exclusive to the Zois named on the reservation, and deliveries can be ordered to the accommodation.
A stay can be extended, modified, or shortened after check-in. Check-out is at 12:00 PM.
Resorts offer their own recommended activities, which vary by property. Examples shipped in this update include a private spa, a barbecue party, and private beachside dining.
Cahaya's central market was reworked and now hosts a night market social event.
Starting a vacation creates a new save file, so the existing save in the Zoi's home city stays accessible.
The same update shipped five lodges to stay in: Dream Stay and Grand Haven in Dowon, Sunset Backpackers and Golden Coast in Bliss Bay, and Sri Lestari Hostel in Cahaya.
Open Questions
Whether existing households will be able to relocate, or only newly created ones.
Specific costs for inter-city moves (some real-estate cost is expected based on the Edit City model).
Whether jobs and businesses transfer across cities or require new acquisitions in the new city.
Family tree implications when half the family lives in one city and half in another.
Whether Canvastown (June 2026) factors into the travel system.
