Full rewrite with all 17 skills, detailed leveling methods, career connections, sellable products, and child-only skill system
inZOI has 17 skills in total: 13 for adults and teens, and 4 exclusive to child Zois. Each skill progresses through levels 1 to 10. Leveling up unlocks new interactions, enables career promotions, and in some cases produces items that can be sold for Meow. Skills are built by repeatedly performing related activities. There are no shortcuts - a Zoi gets better at something by doing it.
A parenting skill has been mentioned in development discussions but is not yet available in the current build.
Increased by painting on an easel, creating murals, and appreciating art at galleries or around the city. Higher Art levels unlock new painting styles and improve the quality (and sale value) of finished paintings. Completed artwork can be sold through the Pocket Market on the smartphone for Meow. Art is one of the two skills that directly produce sellable physical items.
Built through love-themed conversations, flirting, and reading speech-related books. Charm directly affects romantic interactions, making dates more successful and romantic conversations more effective. A high Charm level makes it easier to build relationships with romantic interests.
Developed by brewing coffee at home using a coffee maker or espresso machine. Higher levels unlock more complex drink recipes and improve the quality of brewed beverages. Coffee itself can restore energy and improve mood for the Zoi and any guests who drink it.
Increased by experimenting with recipes in the kitchen. As the Cooking skill levels up, more complex recipes unlock, food quality improves, and the Zoi becomes less likely to start a fire while cooking. Higher-quality meals satisfy the hunger need more effectively and last longer. See restaurants and dining for how cooking applies outside the home.
A broad intellectual skill built through writing, studying for certifications, solving puzzles, and reading logic books. Critical Thinking supports several career paths including journalism and law. Writing manuscripts is one of the leveling methods, and completed manuscripts can be sold as a freelance income source.
Built by using treadmills, weight machines, yoga mats, and other exercise equipment. The Fitness skill visibly affects the Zoi's body shape, making them more toned and muscular as it increases. Reading fitness books (titles containing words like "Running" or "Physical") also contributes. The Idol Trainee career at Adam Entertainment includes fitness-related tasks that level this skill during work hours. Gyms are located at Muscle Beach in Bliss Bay and Harang River Park in Dowon, and players can buy gym equipment through Build Mode for home use.
Improved by watering, fertilizing, and harvesting crops. Reading gardening books also helps. Higher levels unlock new plant varieties and improve harvest quality. Each good-quality harvest earns 500 Meow. Bonsai created through gardening can be sold via the Pocket Market.
Developed through cleaning, repairing broken objects, refurbishing old furniture, and crafting furniture from scratch. A high Housework level makes cleanliness management easier and unlocks the ability to craft furniture items that can be placed in the home through Build Mode.
Built by playing piano, guitar, or drums, and by composing music on a computer. See the instruments article for details on each instrument type. Higher levels unlock new songs and improve performance quality. Zois with a high Instrument skill can busk on the street for tips, earning Meow through street performance.
Leveled by editing videos and taking photographs. This skill ties into the Photo Mode system and video editing tools available on the Zoi's computer. Higher levels produce better-quality media content.
Built through singing, stand-up comedy, and humorous conversations with other Zois. Performance overlaps with the Instrument skill for busking purposes. A Zoi with high Performance can earn tips on the street and is more entertaining at social events.
Developed by coding games and applications on a computer or laptop. Programming is the second skill (alongside Art) that produces directly sellable products. Digital creations made through programming can be sold via the computer for Meow. The skill also supports the Developer career path at DW Soft (Dowon) and Blue Moon Soft (Bliss Bay).
Improved through greeting Zois, having conversations, giving advice, and engaging in debates. Rhetoric affects the success rate of social interactions and is useful for careers that require communication, like journalism at Mirror of the Times or the Bliss Bay Times. A high Rhetoric level makes it easier to influence other Zois' opinions and emotions.
Children have four unique skills that replace the adult skill set. These skills develop during the child life stage and prepare the Zoi for their teen and adult years. When a child ages up to a teen, their child skills influence starting levels in related adult skills.
Built by playing instruments, gaming, doodling, and painting. Creativity is the child equivalent of skills like Art, Instrument, and Programming. Activities that spark imagination and artistic expression all contribute.
Improved through physical activities: using a treadmill, doing yoga, playing with a ball, and other movement-based play. This is the child version of the Fitness skill and affects the child's physical development.
Developed by cleaning up around the house and journaling. Responsibility teaches the child Zoi to take care of their environment and themselves. It loosely maps to the Housework skill in adulthood.
Built through conversations with friends and family members. The Social skill is the child equivalent of Rhetoric and Charm combined, helping the child develop communication abilities that will matter in teen and adult relationships.
All skills progress through levels 1 to 10. Each level requires more activity time than the last. The primary leveling method is always performing the relevant activity: painting for Art, cooking for Cooking, exercising for Fitness, and so on. Books provide a secondary leveling path for most skills. Reading a skill-relevant book at a library, from a personal bookshelf, or on a tablet gives skill experience at a slower rate than the primary activity.
Leveling is not linear. The first few levels come quickly, but reaching level 8, 9, or 10 requires sustained effort over many in-game days. Players who want to max a skill should have their Zoi perform the related activity as part of their daily routine.
Each skill level unlocks something new. The specifics vary by skill, but common patterns include:
New interactions - Higher skill levels unlock conversation topics, romantic moves, creative actions, and social behaviors that were previously unavailable.
Career promotions - Many career promotion requirements include reaching a certain level in a related skill.
Better quality output - Paintings, meals, coffee drinks, harvests, and digital products all improve in quality (and value) as the relevant skill increases.
New recipes and items - Cooking, Coffee Craft, and Gardening unlock new recipes, ingredients, and plant varieties at higher levels.
Community influence - High-level skills affect how other Zois perceive and interact with the skilled Zoi.
Most careers have associated skills that speed up promotion. Here are some key connections:
Programming - Developer careers (DW Soft, Blue Moon Soft)
Fitness - Idol Trainee (Adam Entertainment), Football Player (Bliss Bay Nautilus)
Critical Thinking - Lawyer careers (Justitia, Themis & Jones), Journalist careers, Professor careers
Rhetoric - Journalist careers (Mirror of the Times, Bliss Bay Times)
Charm - Entertainment Planning (Adam Entertainment)
Cooking - Food service positions
Building relevant skills before starting a career path means faster promotions and higher performance evaluations during work shifts.
