The Leather Riding Hat is sold exclusively by Fiona, the saddler shopkeeper in the main city of Demeniss. To unlock it on her storefront, you have to push your reputation with her up to 100. Once you cross that threshold, the hat appears in her inventory at standard purchase price.
Fiona accepts crafting materials as gifts to raise reputation, which is by far the easiest path to 100. Hand in any crafting components you have stockpiled from gathering or salvaging, and the meter climbs steadily. There is no special category requirement, so even common materials work. Combine gift turn-ins with completing nearby House and trade-group missions for a faster climb.
The Leather Riding Hat is the head slot of the larger Riding Attire set, which also includes Master Trainer's Touch, Riding Boots, the Riding Attire chest piece, and the Riding Cloak. The exact stacking effect of the hat on horse-trust XP has not been directly measured in available source material, but every confirmed piece of the set adds to the growth-rate buff, and the hat is part of the same matched set both visually and thematically. Wearing the full set is the tested way to compress horse leveling time by roughly five times compared with bare gear.

The Riding Hat is the head slot of the riding outfit set in Crimson Desert. Patch 1.04.00 added a +1 Horse XP Gain bonus to the hat, bringing it in line with the other three riding pieces and completing the set so that wearing the full kit grants a stacked +4 Horse XP Gain, roughly doubling the previous bonus.

Patch updated |
Before Patch 1.04.00, the Riding Hat existed in the equipment system but did not list a Horse XP Gain modifier in its tooltip. The patch updated every piece of the riding outfit so that each one explicitly displays both Horse Taming Difficulty and Horse XP Gain, and granted +1 Horse XP Gain to the hat. With the cloak, chest (Riding Attire), and boots already contributing +1 each, the full riding loadout now totals +4 Horse XP Gain.
Roughly doubles the previous riding-set bonus. Pre-patch the set capped at +3 Horse XP Gain because the hat slot was empty; the +1 added by 1.04 takes the total to +4.
Noticeably reduces the in-game time required to reach full trust with a horse companion. Players who farm trust and skills on multiple horses see the largest gains.
No additional crafting or quest barrier. Existing copies of the hat in storage updated in place to the new tooltip when 1.04 went live; no rework or re-crafting was required.
The full riding outfit comprises four equippable pieces, each contributing +1 Horse XP Gain:

The Riding Cloak is sold at the Back Alley Shop in Pailune once trust with that vendor reaches level 100, which gives a reliable late-game path to closing out the set. The remaining pieces, including the hat, are obtained through the same gear and outfit channels used for other riding-themed equipment.
