Overview
Bleeding is a physical damage-over-time status effect in Crimson Desert representing lacerations and open wounds. It bypasses elemental resistances entirely, scales with physical damage, and stacks visibly as blood trails on the target. Bleed pressure is most useful against long-health-pool bosses where elemental DoTs are resisted but raw physical attrition still works.
It is one of seven main status effects tracked by the game alongside Burning, Frozen, Shocked, Poisoned, Stunned, and Staggered. For the cross-effect comparison, see the aggregate Status Effects article.
How It Is Applied
Stab skill (primary applier)
Skewer (extends bleed duration)
Slashing weapons with serrated upgrades
Direwolf mount attacks
Some Scarlet Blade (Bleed Bandit) enemy attacks can also inflict bleed on the player
Effect Details
Bleeding is a physical DoT that ticks over several seconds. Stacks intensify bleed severity, and maximum-stack targets leave blood trails on the terrain so fleeing enemies can be tracked. Because it deals physical damage rather than elemental, it is unaffected by Fire, Ice, or Lightning resistance values.
Resistance and Removal
Bandages and Healing Potions cure bleed
Standing still without taking further damage lets the wound gradually clot
Armor with physical resistance and stamina investment reduces intake
Combos and Interactions
Bleed scales from physical damage buffs in the Warrior skill tree, pairs well with finishers against staggered targets, and works on bosses where elemental DoT would be resisted. Stack Skewer after Stab for sustained DoT pressure on a single target.
Notable Enemies and Bosses
Bleed Bandits and Scarlet Blade enemies around Fort Perwin apply bleed to the player. Bleed is effective against large boss fights where physical scaling beats elemental, particularly heavily armored bosses with high elemental resistance.
Tips
Stack Skewer after Stab for sustained DoT.
Bring bandages when entering Scarlet Blade territory.
Equip serrated weapons on high-HP fights.
Bleed is the safest DoT against bosses with unknown elemental resistances.
