The Jet Ski is a mid-tier water vehicle in Starsand Island that provides fast ocean travel for fishing, exploration, and the Beach Festival's Offshore Racing event. It is crafted at a Worktable II using advanced materials, making it a significant upgrade over the slower Bamboo Raft and Sailboard. The Jet Ski blueprint is purchased from Neona at G-Power Bike.
Once crafted, the Jet Ski gives you independent access to the open ocean, including the three deep-sea fishing zones (Coral Sea, Luminwave, and Celestwave) without paying the 150 Coins/hour Yacht rental fee. For players who fish regularly in deep water, the Jet Ski pays for itself quickly by eliminating ongoing rental costs.
Detail | Value |
|---|---|
Type | Water vehicle |
Blueprint Cost | 45,000 Coins (from G-Power Bike) |
Crafting Station | |
Speed | Fast (significantly faster than Bamboo Raft and Sailboard) |
Riders | 1 |
Sprint Boost | Yes (hold Sprint key) |
Fuel | None (no ongoing fuel cost) |
The Jet Ski blueprint costs 45,000 Coins from Neona's G-Power Bike shop. This is a significant investment, but the blueprint cost is only part of the challenge. The crafting materials themselves require access to advanced processing stations and rare resources.
Save up 45,000 Coins. Fishing and selling high-value crops through the Merchant Ship (which pays 200% of normal vendor value) are the fastest ways to earn this much.
Purchase the Jet Ski blueprint from Neona at G-Power Bike.
Gather the required materials (see Crafting Recipe below). Several ingredients require intermediate crafting steps.
Craft the Jet Ski at a Worktable II.
Material | Quantity | Source |
|---|---|---|
Mini Reactor | 4 | Crafted at the Energy Converter. Requires Starflare Crystal and other components. |
Rubber | 10 | Processed from raw materials at the Cutter. |
High-Performance Wire Set | 10 | Crafted at the Gear Smith. Requires refined metals. |
Premium Wood Plank | 10 | Processed from Premium Wood at the Cutter. Premium Wood is found in the Moonlit Forest and certain forested areas. |
Starflare Crystal | 10 | Mined from crystal deposits in the Moonlit Forest and high-altitude areas. Also occasionally available from traveling merchants. |
The Mini Reactor is the most complex component, since it requires its own set of sub-materials crafted at the Energy Converter. Plan to build the Energy Converter and start stockpiling Starflare Crystals early if you want to craft the Jet Ski efficiently.
The 45,000 Coin blueprint cost is steep, but the crafting materials are often the bigger bottleneck. Here is a recommended approach to gathering everything you need:
Starflare Crystals: Mine these in the Moonlit Forest. Crystal deposits respawn every few in-game days. You need at least 10 for the recipe directly, plus additional crystals for crafting the 4 Mini Reactors.
Premium Wood: Chop Premium Wood trees in the Moonlit Forest and process them into Premium Wood Planks at a Cutter. These trees are less common than regular wood, so collect them whenever you visit the forest.
Rubber: Processed from raw materials at the Cutter. Stock up on the base materials during regular gathering runs.
High-Performance Wire Sets: Crafted at the Gear Smith using refined metals. Build the Gear Smith and start producing wire sets alongside your other crafting projects.
Mini Reactors: Crafted at the Energy Converter. Each reactor requires multiple sub-components, so batch-craft them once you have all the prerequisites. You need 4 total.
Like all crafted vehicles, the Jet Ski is stored in your inventory after crafting. Equip it to your hotbar through the backpack menu, then place it into water with the assigned hotkey. You can also summon it from anywhere on the island using the Travel App on your phone.
The Jet Ski handles differently from the Bamboo Raft. It has a sprint boost activated by holding the Sprint key (Shift on keyboard, left trigger on controller). The boost significantly increases your speed but reduces your steering precision, so use it in open water rather than narrow channels. In calm coastal waters, the default cruising speed is already much faster than the Bamboo Raft or Sailboard.
Ocean exploration and fast travel between coastal areas
Access to deep-sea fishing zones (Coral Sea, Luminwave, Celestwave) without paying the 150 Coins/hour Yacht rental
Offshore Racing during the Beach Festival (Summer 27 at Half-Moon Bay)
General waterway navigation around the island's coastline
Reaching hidden islands, Moonlit Forest coastal edges, and offshore resource locations
During the Beach Festival on Summer 27, the Offshore Racing event takes place at 10:00 AM at Half-Moon Bay. This is the primary competitive event for Jet Ski owners and offers the best Beach Coin payout per attempt among all festival activities.
Arrive at Half-Moon Bay before 10:00 AM on Summer 27.
Speak to Delphin at the racing dock and borrow a festival jet ski.
Interact with the leaderboard behind Delphin to start the race. Each attempt costs 100 Coins.
Navigate through each checkpoint as fast as possible. The course loops through the bay with marked buoys.
Placement | Beach Coins |
|---|---|
1st Place | 200 |
2nd Place | 100 |
3rd Place | 60 |
4th Place or Lower | 35 |
Top-three finishes also unlock unique outfit pieces from the racing event. Beach Coins can be spent at the Beach Festival Market, which opens at 12:00 PM the same day.
Hold the Sprint button to boost, but ease off before sharp turns. The Jet Ski's high speed makes it easy to overshoot checkpoints.
Aim to cut each checkpoint as closely as possible rather than making wide arcs. Tight lines save significant time.
Practice the course layout by doing a slower first run to memorize checkpoint positions, then go full speed on subsequent attempts.
The race is repeatable. If you do not place first on your initial attempt, you can try again immediately for another 100 Coins.
Complete all your racing attempts before 12:00 PM so you can spend your Beach Coins at the market. The festival ends at midnight.
One of the main reasons to craft a Jet Ski is to access the three deep-sea fishing zones independently, without renting a Yacht. After completing the Starsand Port Construction quest, the deep-sea zones become reachable by any watercraft fast enough to make the trip practical. The Jet Ski's speed makes it an excellent option.
Zone | Notable Fish | Estimated Profit per Trip |
|---|---|---|
Humphead Wrasse, Blue Tang, Swordfish (King) | 500 to 1,500 Coins | |
Mola Mola, Tuna, Megamouth Shark (King) | 1,500 to 4,000 Coins | |
Ribbon Eel, Mandarinfish, Long-barbelled Dragonfish (King) | 3,000 to 10,000+ Coins |
Bring Minced Fish Bait for most deep-sea species, and Meat Bait for fish like the Tuna and Mola Mola. Upgrade to the Noble Fishing Rod before attempting deep-sea catches, since basic rods will break against larger fish. The Celestwave zone is particularly profitable but requires night-time fishing (20:00 to 02:00) for its best catches.
Vehicle | Blueprint Cost | Speed | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
400 Coins | Slow | Cheapest water vehicle. Good for early river crossing. | |
1,300 Coins | Medium | Wind-powered. No fuel cost but dependent on conditions. | |
Jet Ski | 45,000 Coins | Fast | Powered watercraft. Best mid-game ocean vehicle. Has sprint boost. |
175,000 Coins (blueprint) or 350,000 Coins (pre-built) | Very Fast | Top-tier water vehicle. Requires Worktable III. | |
150 Coins/hour (rental) | Medium | Rental only. Available at Starsand Port. Free ocean exploration while rented. |
The Jet Ski eliminates the need to rent Yachts (150 Coins/hour) for deep-sea fishing trips, saving money in the long run. After about 300 hours of yacht rental (or roughly 20 to 30 fishing trips), the Jet Ski has paid for itself.
Build the Jet Ski before the Beach Festival (Summer 27) so you are familiar with the controls for Offshore Racing, though the event provides a loaner jet ski.
The blueprint cost (45,000 Coins) is steep, but the crafting materials are often the harder obstacle. Start collecting Mini Reactors and Starflare Crystals early by visiting the Moonlit Forest regularly.
The Jet Ski is the best mid-game watercraft for the price. The Speedboat is faster but costs nearly four times as much for the blueprint alone.
Use the sprint boost in open water for fast travel, but release it when approaching shore or navigating around obstacles to avoid running aground.
