Overview
Prinplup is a Water-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Penguin Pokemon (Dex #129). Because every Prinplup considers itself to be the most important, they can never form a group. Prinplup is the middle stage of the Piplup and Empoleon family. It carries two specialties: Water and Trade, making it useful for both watering plants and exchanging items.
Habitat
Prinplup can be found at two habitats, both of which can be placed in any area.
Hydrated Yellow Tall Grass (#053)
Yellow tall grass resting by the water. A nice spot for Pokemon after they're done swimming.
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Yellow Tall Grass | 4 | Planted or found in the wild |
Water | 2 | Placed near the grass |
Prinplup is a Rare visitor at this habitat. It is available during all times of day (Dawn, Day, Dusk, Night) and in all weather conditions (Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy). Other Pokemon at this habitat include Piplup (Common), Azurill (Common), and Marill (Rare).
Waterwheel Spot (#086)
This amazing facility generates electricity through the power of a waterfall.
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Waterwheel Kit | 1 | Building item; crafted or found |
Water | 1 | Placed nearby |
1 | A natural waterfall feature |
Prinplup is a Rare visitor at the Waterwheel Spot. It shares this habitat with Empoleon (Very Rare). Available at all times and in all weather conditions.
Location
Both of Prinplup's habitats can be placed in any area across all biomes. The Hydrated Yellow Tall Grass habitat is simpler to build since it only requires Yellow Tall Grass and Water, while the Waterwheel Spot needs a Waterwheel Kit and a Waterfall.
How to Befriend
Build either the Hydrated Yellow Tall Grass or Waterwheel Spot habitat by placing the required items near each other. Since Prinplup is a Rare visitor at both habitats, be patient and check regularly. Walk up and interact with Prinplup when it appears to befriend it.
Specialties
Water
Prinplup has the Water specialty. Pokemon with the Water specialty can use a full water basin to spray water on nearby fields and plants. This is helpful for keeping crops and gardens watered without manual effort.
Trade
Prinplup also has the Trade specialty. Pokemon with this specialty can exchange items with you at a cash register. Place a cash register near Prinplup's habitat, and it will staff the register to offer item trades.

Related Pokemon
Prinplup is the middle stage of a three-member family that includes Piplup (Dex #128) and Empoleon (Dex #130). In the main Pokemon series, Piplup evolves into Prinplup at level 16, and Prinplup evolves into Empoleon at level 36. In Pokopia, there is no evolution mechanic, so each member must be found at its own habitat independently. Prinplup shares the Hydrated Yellow Tall Grass habitat with Piplup and the Waterwheel Spot habitat with Empoleon.
Tips
The Hydrated Yellow Tall Grass habitat is the easier option to build since it only requires Yellow Tall Grass and Water. It also lets you encounter Piplup (Common) and Azurill (Common) at the same time.
If you build the Waterwheel Spot, you have a chance to encounter both Prinplup and the Very Rare Empoleon at the same location.
Prinplup's Water specialty is useful for automating crop watering. Station it near your farming area for passive irrigation.
Other Water-specialty Pokemon include Piplup and Empoleon. Having multiple Water Pokemon near your fields increases watering efficiency.
