Overview
Mimikyu is a Ghost/Fairy-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Disguise Pokemon (Dex #141). This Pokemon lives in dark places untouched by sunlight. When it appears before humans, it hides itself under a cloth that resembles a Pikachu. Mimikyu is a standalone Pokemon with no evolution family in Pokopia. It carries the Trade specialty, allowing it to exchange items with you at a cash register. Mimikyu is unique because its habitat specifically requires Pikachu-themed furniture.
Habitat
Mimikyu lives at the Pikachu Space habitat (#094). This is the only habitat where Mimikyu appears, and Mimikyu is the only Pokemon attracted to it.
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Pikachu Sofa | 1 | Found aboard the S.S. Anne at Bleak Beach |
Pikachu Doll | 1 | Found in an abandoned house at Bleak Beach |
Mimikyu is a Common visitor at this habitat. It is available during all times of day (Morning, Day, Evening, Night) and in all weather conditions (Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy). The habitat can be placed in any area.
How to Get the Pikachu Sofa
The Pikachu Sofa is found aboard the S.S. Anne at Bleak Beach. To reach it:
Head to the S.S. Anne at Bleak Beach.
Climb the front deck using stacked blocks.
Ascend to the captain's deck area.
Climb the ladder behind the ship's wheel.
Follow the path to a metal room and collect the Poke Ball containing the Pikachu Sofa.
Alternatively, you can appraise Large Lost Relics from Professor Tangrowth for a chance to receive a Pikachu Sofa, but this is not guaranteed.
How to Get the Pikachu Doll
The Pikachu Doll is found inside an abandoned house in the southern part of Bleak Beach. Explore the house and collect the Poke Ball containing the Pikachu Doll.
How to Befriend
Place the Pikachu Sofa and Pikachu Doll near each other to create the Pikachu Space habitat. Mimikyu is a Common visitor, so it should appear quickly. Walk up and interact with Mimikyu when it shows up to befriend it. Both Pikachu items are found at Bleak Beach, so collect them during your visit to that area.
Specialty: Trade
Mimikyu has the Trade specialty. Pokemon with this specialty can exchange items with you at a cash register. Place a cash register near Mimikyu's Pikachu Space habitat, and it will staff the register to offer item trades. Mimikyu's Trade specialty makes it useful for setting up a shop area on your island.

Related Pokemon
Mimikyu does not have an evolution family in Pokopia. It is the only Pokemon that appears at the Pikachu Space habitat. Mimikyu disguises itself as Pikachu, but the two are unrelated species. Other Dark-environment Pokemon include Zoroark, Zorua, Murkrow, and Umbreon.
Tips
Both Pikachu items needed for Mimikyu's habitat are found at Bleak Beach. Collect the Pikachu Sofa from the S.S. Anne and the Pikachu Doll from the abandoned house during a single trip.
Mimikyu is Common at its habitat, so once you place the Pikachu Sofa and Pikachu Doll together, it should appear quickly.
Despite being a Ghost/Fairy-type, Mimikyu has the Trade specialty rather than a combat-related ability. It is best used as a shopkeeper Pokemon near a cash register.
Mimikyu and Zoroark both prefer dark environments and have the Trade specialty. Grouping their habitats together lets you share dark-themed decorations for both Pokemon.
If you cannot find the Pikachu Sofa on the S.S. Anne, try appraising Large Lost Relics from Professor Tangrowth as an alternative method to obtain one.
